The game developer was technically challenged
I review each game against what I've already played and what's out there. Technically, this game is way deficient versus other games offered by BFG. There is no seamless integration between scenes. Instead you're watching a black screen and a xx% loading time, which totally takes away from the story line, and probably adds another 45 minutes (not kidding) to the game while you're waiting for the screens to load. That's unacceptable IMHO considering the competition among game developers and the increasing sophistication among gaming audiences. Other than the wait to load screens, the game technically performs as it should.
The story line is not bad; puzzles are easy to medium difficulty; graphics are moody and atmospheric. The logic and puzzle solving needed to progress in the game will not frustrate you, as some other games can. Gore factor is minimal.
This is a good introduction to people who are new to BFG and video games in general. But as one progresses in the gaming world, you'll find this one's lack of basic technical symmetry bothersome.

Game is too Slow!
I bought this game because the graphic seems to be interesting. But the game is just TOO SLOW! Every scene change takes at least 30 seconds to load, and the mouse moves way too slowly during the scene. Only buy this game if you have the patience and time.

lousy
the controls are bad try to leave a room and inventory keeps popping up, then leave areas and it has to load, both me and my wife have newish computers and enough ram to hold everyother collectors edition so that was unnessasary, I didn't even finish the game after buying it. we buy a lot of these games every month, don't waste your money

Slooooooooow
Way too long for screens to load. Spent much of my time looking at a black screen. Clicking anywhere in the lower third of the screen would move you back to the previous location. I clicked on the huge link area to the previous screen by accident way too many times. The end of the story was abrupt and did not resolve anything to my satisfaction. If you don't mind waiting for a black screen the game play wasn't too difficult and most play did not require you to run too much between the different areas.

Needs some work
Bluebeard's Castle has an interesting premis but dark hidden object scenes, minimal instructions on the minigames, and a lack of a "notebook" to remind me of vital clues had me frustrated after 20 minutes.
I had some issues with graphics in a couple of places (I actually saw big blocks of color with what looked like Russian code or printing in the background) but will gladly concede that it may have been technical difficulties with my computer.
For those who like voiceovers, there were few, which is actually a point in its favor in my book.
On the plus side, some of the minigames were truly original, like the fountain puzzle right at the front gate and the horoscope clock lock.
I recommend that you try the game if you like challenging mini puzzles and will not be frustrated by having to run back and forth between scenes to remind yourself of clues, and if you are not annoyed by junk pile hidden object scenes.
This game has potential but the demo was enough for me.

Beautiful gem!
This has gorgeous artwork and lots of different puzzles. I wasn't sure what to put for level of challenge as everyone is different. The puzzles are challenging enough to make you think but not that hard that you get annoyed and want to give up. The only distraction was when I travelled between locations everything went black while while it downloaded. But since you pretty much work in one location at a time and it takes just seconds it's really no big deal. I found myself playing with the light, moving objects in and out of it and enjoying the art. The storyline is blessedly short and to the point - I don't enjoy long involved dialogue when I'm playing a game. This a gem for the eyes and a fun game. Enjoy!

Has some quirks, but...
Exquisite graphics, interesting puzzles so far, and beautiful music. It does have to load between scenes at some points but the level of detail made this a minor issue to me this time.
Hidden Object Scenes are intricate but doable, and it appears to be a pretty even mix of adventure and HO scenes.
Not perfect but very enjoyable and a buy for me.

Bluebeard was fun.
I enjoyed this game immensely. It was visually pleasing. The HOG's are well integrated with objects properly named and large enough to see. The mini-games are different and not excruciatingly difficult. Occasionally, the next thing to do was very hard to figure out, but I had a lot of fun trying. I highly recommend this game as a buy!

bluebeard's castle - ugh!
This is, without a doubt, the poorest gameplay I have had with any game downloaded from BFG. It is agonizingly slow to move from one scene to another - even within a scene. I bought it, I own it, but I can't make myself play more than two hours of it!! The hidden object scenes are too dark. The only saving grace is that the other minigames are fun. If I could give this game a subzero rating, I would!
