Bluebeards castle explored
Hello all.
Well I have just finished playing this wonderful gem and wanted to share why I thought it was so great.
Having read and taken in others reviews and opinions I have to say that despite the minus points, this game is worth every penny of the SE price at which it is offered.
I found the graphics to be crisp and the hidden object scenes challenging but do-able. There were a couple of "well that didn't look like that" moments but as the game offers silhouettes if you hovver your mouse over the item you wish to find, it was not a problem.
The mini games took me a while to work out what I was supposed to do but were not overly difficult. A few times I came close to hitting the skip button only to solve the puzzle there and then.
The story was interesting enough if not original & it lends purpose to the object of the game.
There were quite a few scenes to explore & these were grouped in "batches" for the most part which meant that although you were moving too & fro, there was not too much back tracking for miles to places you visited a while ago.
The only real problem was the lagging between loading times of certain scenes, which I know annoys a lot of people but It was not so slow that I thought the game was hanging.
I did feel as if the game rushed a bit towards the end, but it still took me 4 hours to complete in stages. If it offered a couple more chapters and sorted out the loading issues, I would have seriously considered buying it as a CE.
Even if it is a "no buy" for you, an hour playing the demo will be well spent.

Fun and interesting Hidden Object Game
This game is from "Fenda Games", and it's a game to my own heart.
The game started out playing in full screen, but I got a black screen for several seconds, before the loading percentage appeared. Got me worried there for a moment.
All through the game, when changing from scene to scene, there is an old-fashioned loading time in between each scene.
The graphics are very well done. Gameplay is fun and interesting, and the puzzles are unique and really enjoyable.
I declicked the custom cursor but it was still there. However, it is small and nice-looking, and doesn't intrude.
There is no voice-over, and the music is rather nice.
There is only one play mode, which has sparkles.
The Hidden Object Scenes have crisp and clean graphics, and object are not hard to find.
The game doesn't give widescreen.
When clicking on "Play", the Game Manager first closes down, before the game starts, but comes back after exiting the game. So no worries...
This is a keeper for me. One of the few games I have bought lately that I really enjoy playing.

Easier Than Most But...
I enjoyed this game because for once the puzzles were not too hard for me, the HO scenes were clear and attractive (in a macabre sort of way) and the graphics were good, though somewhat grainy on closeups.
The "but..." is because there is no journal/map/task list available outside HOS and therefore I spent too much time trying to figure out what I missed. Hint was worse than useless - "Investigate the castle and its grounds for more clues" is not helpful.
The story is simple and familiar, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It meant no confusion trying to figure out what was going on. The clues are presented in verse which is kind of corny but also kinda nice. Considerable imagination went into making the locations varied and interesting.
I'll be playing it again - often

Sorta New and Different
I really liked this game. It wasn't so complicated that I couldn't figure out where to go next. The puzzles are fresh, but fairly easy. You can't really mess up, which is why I gave it 3 stars for challenge. I didn't feel the need for a strategy guide. I was a little annoyed moving around because it has to load each time. It didn't take long, but still. I also wish there was a note book. I had to back track to the clue to get information most games log for you in the notes. Other than that, I really enjoyed playing it. I prefer games with more puzzles than HOS and this had a good mix.

Excellent Adventure Game!!
I've never played a game with this much time and effort included in making the game a true adventure before. I've always found the majority of games too easy, predictable, and boring after the first hour. This game exceeds all expectations... just when you think you're not going to be able to solve the puzzle, you found a well hidden clue to continue on. I truly loved this game! I completed it in just under 4 hours, but I took small breaks for telephone calls, etc. Highly recommend!!

Very atmospheric game
This game is a positive surprise to me. Didn't know the developer's, and the opening screen gave me the idea it might be a dark and not too special game.
But how wrong I was in these expectations! The game appeared to be a very good and interesting one, with clear graphics, beautiful designed locations, nicely challenging H0 scenes with clearly visable objects and original minigames.
The only less good point, although small, is the loading time between screens, indicatied by a percentage counter. Because of this I give this game:
4 stars out of 5
But all in all a very play-worthy Hidden Object Game!

Great Deal!
I bought this game after playing the trial, well worth the 6.99! Hidden Object scenes and puzzles just challenging enough.
The game is a little slow loading, but didn't freeze up on me, and no other issues noted.

Bluebeard's Castle
I liked the fact that this game does not lead you by the hand quite as much as other games. I had to think a little more, but not so much that it hurt my brain. There is no journal/diary and so I jotted down notes for the clues and to remember which objects I needed to find to unlock doors and etc.
The game is linear but not entirely. As usual, there is some running around, but not as much as in other games. Many times, the object you needed was found in the same scene and you didn't have to traipse back somewhere else to unlock that object. More puzzle than HO, which I like.
My one complaint is that the HO scenes were too dark. Oh, wait, I have another: There was too much waiting for the game to load the next area. The screen goes black and sometimes you see a percentage indicator, but not always. The wait was just long enough to get me cursing and several times I wondered if the game had frozen. This game seems no more graphic intensive than other games so I wonder why you have this lag time and I also wonder if it actually would freeze up on older PCs.
One thing I had to get used to: When you "create" an object you need (such as filling a container with water), it does not automatically drop into your inventory. It hangs there mid-screen and you have to click to pick it up. More than once I backed out of a scene only to have to go right back to pick up what I needed.
All that said, I definitely enjoyed playing this game. The story is a tiny bit weak, but the game play makes you forget that. I did like how the clues were presented and since there was no journal recording them all, you had to pay attention and as I said, take notes - unless you have one of those really good memories, and I don't! :)
Average length. I would recommend it, but it may not be to everyone's liking. Definitely better than many games out there. As always: Try the demo.

Excellent Hidden Object Game
Purchased this game yesterday & couldn't take a break from it. Beautiful graphics, intense game play, nice HOS. More like a Collectors Edition.

Bluebeard's Castle
The game was interesting in the storyline. It has great graphics and a little bit of a chill factor to it.
The hidden object scenes were fun and the items well hidden.
I had a good time trying this game out and can not wait to see what happens throughout the game and the ending.
