The Keepers : Lost Progeny
This was a terrific game. The caught my interest from the start. Graphics were clear, going from one place to another was seamless, puzzles made you have to think, hint system refil was fast as well as helpful, warning at the begining was helpful, spook factor was great and sprit of the game was that you had to find out what was just around the corner, it pulled you to find out more, The ending was good because you know there will me another even better. Great game !!!

Great first HOPA from these developers. (bonus pros and cons)
BLAM made this game. It seems they usually do TM games and this is their first HOPA. Which makes this game even more remarkable.
This game was so near to getting an ?A? rating from me which is rare and how irritating it is that I can?t give it! I do not have a widescreen laptop and yet I still got black side bars. About the only modern HOPA game that has done this, I thought that was absolute and a minimum for a modern game to have no black bars! (and I do have my nvidia panel set to stretch games and tried everything!)
Leaving that aside the hidden object scenes (bar two junk scenes ? why did they have to be there?) were the best hidden object scenes that I can remember in a game and not very easy. They were the best integrated in a scene, and mostly not junk pile. (Although they had the usual random click penalty which is annoying.)
The puzzles were for once in a game a nice hardness for a HOPA, enough to be challenging and take your time over. It was well done the adventure interactions, and all the graphics were really sharp and didn?t have that awful soft wash on them which I hate in some games.
The plot was standard fare but didn?t interrupt too much which was good but when it did it really was excellently done ? nice mild sacredness factor. I like it when I can ignore the novel/diary and it doesn?t glow as I don?t need updates.
There was a choice of 3 settings and in the bonus!
I played no sparkles, don't skip puzzles (but like the choice to do so) and it was a good length. I?m not a very fast player.
I must point out that for the first time in any HOPA game (even escape from ravenhearst - latest MCF game I had none!) I had a few tech problems. My whole computer shut down in the middle of the game a few times and most of the time when I was trying to get out of a scene my whole screen went black for a few seconds (not the skull and diary), that never happens. It did remember where I was. So would urge the new DEVS to try and not make a game as much of a hog (sorry about the pun!) next time. (yes I am full updated)
SE - 5 hrs +. bonus has 2 chapters ? 1 hr 40 mins (roughly)
BONUS -
pro -
- choice of difficulty, sadly this is quite rare in other games
- 2 chapters
- long bonus
- don't play any scenes (apart from first scene) in the main SE game so it's all new the whole bonus
cons
- the hidden object scenes were nowhere near as well done as the main game
- more frequent H O scenes
If I could have had this game play full screen for me, I'd give it a higher mark and 5 stars for graphics.
As is, a very good B+ game for having mostly excellent hidden object scenes and not super easy puzzles.

Loved this game!
This game is brilliant!
The story is really good, the graphics brilliant and it's also got some rather creepy parts thrown in the mix hehe :)
Would have only given the game a 4,5 stars had it not been for the bonus play in the CE. The bonus play is a lot longer and a lot more a part of the story (especially the ending) than I've seen in a CE so far. And there you get to play 2 separate chapters of extended play (one as yourself and then another as the villain) to see what happens next.
Definitely recommend this game for everyone who loves dark, creepy HOGs :)

Great Choice for a Dark and Eerie Game
This review is based on the demo version.
The Keepers: Lost Progeny by Blam is a first interactive hidden object game for this developer.
There are 3 modes of play: Casual - sparkles, quicker charging hint/skip buttons; Advanced - no sparkles, longer charging hint/skip buttons; Hardcore - no sparkles and no hint/skip buttons.
In the story, an orphan receives an unexpected and mysterious picture of a couple with only the name of a nearby town. Upon traveling to the town, it is discovered that it is besieged by murder, disappearances and something much more terrifying.
The story is quite well developed and grabs you from the start, assisted by very clear graphics and fitting music. The voice overs and cut scenes are done extremely well and add additional elements of surprise and suspense throughout the game. The HOS are sparsely populated junk-pile style; however, there are plenty of other inventory items to find as you walk the dark and deserted streets and visit the spooky buildings.
The puzzles are on the easy side but clever with sufficient hints given so that they can be easily worked out.
As far as dark and eerie ones go, this looks like a real gem. Kudos to Blam for a very well done game. The only reason I'm not purchasing this today is because I've reached my personal limit on dark and eerie this week - but it's on my list of definite future buys because it is a sure winner.

Winner!
This game had everything I liked! The story line was intriguing, and really keeps you wanting to find out what happens next. The occasional "ghost" scenes are really creepy...which is great! I liked that it had the strategy guide where you could go and look if you got stuck, although I didnt have to use it but once. Overall, I believe this is going to be a big hit for all HOS game lovers, and is a definite "BUY" game for me!

Lost Progeny is a "Keeper"
What fun to discover a fresh new entry in the high-quality games that comprise the Collector's Editions from Big Fish Games. This beautifully executed game has all the features that, for me, provide a superb Hidden Object experience. We can choose Easy, Advanced, or Hardcore level, so any level of gamer will be happy. The story begins as many HO games do: after a phantom-like hound delivers a mysterious photograph, we set off in search of the truth regarding our long-lost family history. Each chapter is generously lengthy. We encounter obstacles at every turn, which I like. For me, this game achieves that perfect line -- challenging without being frustrating. The puzzles are not very difficult but each one is unique and, with such beautiful artwork, each one is captivating. With HO scenes aplenty, this game will keep the most hard-to-please gamer satisfied.

Had fun with this one
Music and graphics were excellent, but found some of the HOS objects tough to identify. Wound up asking for more hints than usual just because the scenes were dark and the objects did not always look as expected. - The beauty of HOS I guess.
Storyline was intriguing if a bit dark. If you're into demons, runes, and magic with a back drop of chasms and flowing lava this is the game for you.
Game play time felt a little short. Puzzles were medium to easy but fun and creative. One thing I appreciated - NOT having to back track time and again.
Played in casual mode and the sparkles were understated - not at all obnoxious or intrusive.
Music fit in well so I did not find myself turning it off.
I'd recommend this game - Download for me was 1.2GM - what's up with that?

Beautiful graphics
I enjoy hidden object games and this is a good one. The graphics are great, and most of the hidden objects are recognizable, unlike some games. I did have trouble finding "garnet", which wasn't what I thought it to be! I was actually able to progress rapidly through the game on my own, only using the strategy guide occasionally.

One of the best!
The story line is one of the best I've come across in a long time and I've played many, many games. There were a lot of challenges which was greatly appreciated, I only wish there were more hidden object games like this one. I hope I don't have to wait too long to experience another game like this one. Great game!

FANTASTIC ADVENTURE/HIDDEN OBJECT GAME
The opening video, beautiful graphics, and intriguing story line immediately drew me into the game. I purchased the CE and it was worth every penny! I enjoyed the puzzles, searching for clues, and watching the story unfold.
Thank you to the developers and Big Fish for a truly wonderful game! Bravo to the developers!!
