A Great Game This is a great game, even though there is only one mode of play where the HO scenes sparkle, and places of interest glint, it still keeps you on your toes from start to finish, without any hand holding. This developer (Top Evidence) know how to keep you intrigued. I really enjoy moving around large spooky homes with lots of rooms to explore and heaps of puzzles to solve. I didn?t use the SG at all because the hint system was sufficient, with out being intrusive. I also liked that the developers remained faithful to the period, if you were looking for a ?plane? in a HO scene, it was one of the wood paring variety, not the flying kind and a ?torch? had a flame not a battery. It?s a long game and I felt completely satisfied when it ended, I almost didn?t feel the need to play the Bonus Chapter, however the Bonus Chapter rounds things up very nicely but isn?t necessary, so if your interested in this game and can only afford the S/E version, you won?t be disappointed. Even though movement within the game is reasonably compact, there is a lot of area to cover and a map would have made a great game perfect. February 19, 2012
Not what i was hoping for(let this be a warning) Its an ok game but the puzzles are really easy and theres lots of hidden scenes and this i usually like to see in a game is when you get to go back to an area, but this game has you constantly going back and forward like a yoyo. There is no map(you don't really need one) and you feel like you just did one tiny thing and then you to have to back out a long way to do one more tiny thing before making you go back. This is the worst backward and forward game i have ever come across.the first half hour of the game seemed great so i brought the collectors edition!I regret it! I t makes me feel tried and bored not things i like in a game.Im surprised there are not people complain about this back and forth thing as it huge in this game!the demo was misleading! Long hours of fun! I really loved that game. I didn't mind the sparkles at all in this one because there were so many places to go and so many things to do. Ok, the story was a little bit unrealistic (ex: the young girl who loses her whole family and doesn't feel that much pain..), but hey, it's a game, and I enjoyed playing it after a hard day's work. .The music was fantastic and so were the graphics. Really glad I bought this one. November 24, 2011
"Fun Hidden Object Game!" wish more of the hidden object games were like this November 21, 2011
Haunted Manor - Questionable as CE While this game met the criteria for a basic edition (Good Plot, Challenging HOGs, great imagination for Inventory Items,) it lacked the essentials for a great CE Adventure. Mini-games more time-consuming than thought-provoking, "music" was, well...turned off after 5 minutes, skill level not an option, graphics were just average & the Bonus Feature seemed more like a quick arriere-pensee. I wanted to love it, but I couldn't really sink my teeth into it. I was looking forward to the end, instead of relishing the play. December 3, 2011
Its a must have It's hard to impress me since I've been playing ho games forever now but this one caught my attention, from the ability to use the ''hint button'' to redirect you in the many different areas that need to be played in this game,to the very eery soundtrack....Really really great game Highly recommended and hey NO GLITCHES!!!!! EXCELLENT investment! First CE in a while that i -really- feel like i got my money's worth, and then some!! :D Challenging, but not excruciating; solid storyline (though a little more back story about "your sister" would have been better), and LOTS of play time!! :D I tend to keep music kind of low, but what i -was- hearing was very nice :)) The strategy guide was helpful, the few times i needed guidance; specific directions that were easy to follow with big, clear screenshots. I'm not sure if it left enough to build on for its own sequel, but i'll definitely keep an eye out for more from Top Evidence Studio, and for others in the Haunted Manor collection (their previous was HM: Lord of Mirrors)! WELL WORTH IT! May 10, 2012
Awesome Game The game was awesome, though I found a small glitch. It doesn't effect the game, but it's still there. In the bonus game if you use the screwdriver on the whetstone you end up getting two screwdrivers. February 6, 2012
Haunted Manor: Queen f Death collectors Edition Hi Fishlings, My laundry needs attention, house needs cleaning but I could not tear myself away from the game! One of the best I have played. The music was so fitting and the graphics amazing! I really liked the story line and the way it was programmed, nothing was ever very obvious. More games of this caliber please. Highly recommended. Great great great more please Great it's a game you must have, lots of red herrings but a couple of hick-ups here and there, one of the top 100 best games, great sparkle's as we call them and hard games to keep use wondering. MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE Ann January 2, 2012
