Brilliant game
This is a fascinating story one that more developers could learn from in that they can take an awesome, if not well known book that was written (even long ago) and turn them into a great game. Yes, it is a short game as it took me between 3-4 hours and I play slow. Most HOG's take me 4 or 5 sittings to complete this one was done in 3 sittings....all around an hour or so....my eyes tend to blurr after that! Ho scenes and puzzles were all fairly easy, but the puzzles were unique so I didn't mind ease of play. I don't need a tough challenge to be entertained.

Loving it
It's the first game I bought on BFG and I really enjoy it. Bright graphics, thrilling story line. Always loved the Lovecraft stories :-)

good but not the greattest
More like the beginnings of HO games. There are lots better out there now. The hint button and advice works good but still confusing in areas. HOS are good. The music if good and the graphics are great. Some voice over. TO me just an average game. Buy for 1/2 price as I will.

Great DD!
I actually came across this game a while ago and couldn't justify paying full price for it. By all accounts, it was shorter than most of this genre (true). Every now and then a daily deal comes along that you were actually hoping for, and this was mine. It lived up to all of my expectations.
The story was enthralling. Towards the end you are switching between the two members of the expedition, which I expected to hate but which was actually kind of fun. You pull off a rescue on a team with yourself (who better? ;)) I found myself using the hint without even trying to figure things out (a rare thing for me) just so I could find out what happened next.
The graphics were superb. For the most part, you are in an icy city built by a mysterious race. It was beautiful. Bonus, if your favorite color is blue (mine is!)
Hidden Object Scenes were standard. There were a couple of times where you had to move a box or find another object on the list first before you could find a particular object. This happened rarely, though, maybe 5 times throughout the game. You revisit scenes and the previous HO's are not magically reappearing in the scene, which I like. You also often get multiple objects out of the HOS, which I really like (there is no "I just saw a wrench in the last 5 HOSs and now I need one, but I don't have one!").
There are achievements, but they are mute. They are basically markers for how far you have come in the story. If you finish the game, you get all the achievements. Nothing annoying about them, but the devs probably could have saved themselves a little time. They are rather pointless.
All in all, yes, short, but they nailed it on every other point. Worth a try. Who knows, you might get too enthralled in the story to not finish it :).

Great game
With the added bonus of having advice and hint icons (and not having to buy a Strategy Guide, my pet peeve). The blizzard sound effects put me right in the mood. Most of the games were interesting and not too many HOS!

H.P. Lovecraft Comes To HOG'S
DISCLAIMER: I only played the free trial.
I was very surprised by this game; I had started to think that the HOG genre was getting stale. However, this game has given me hope. Based on the novel by H. P. Lovecraft, this game has been added to my Christmas wish list.
The most remarkable thing about this game is the hint system, I've never seen a game that used anything like it. If you click it once, you will get just general information, like what direction you need to go. If you click twice, you'll get a lot more info on what to do. This helps both the novice and the expert gamer who doesn't want or need "hand holding". The other unique thing was the hidden object scenes; if you visit a site more than once, all the items you found before are removed from the screen. The skip button refills quickly, too. The voice over tells you what you need to know without yammering on forever. I thought the mini-games were nice, but they didn't offer me much challenge. The graphics are good, but don't have the "star quality" of a Blue Tea game, but that's a relatively minor thing.

Great Game w/ a Sci-Fi theme
I loved this game. It was a little different than most BF HO games because of the science fiction theme. The HO scenes are relatively easy, but some of the puzzles are a little more difficult than many other games. There is, however, in addition to the "Hint" for HO scenes, an "Advice" button for what to do next. It gives progressive clues as to what to do next starting with just a nudge. The graphics were fine but nothing stellar. The story was really compelling, provided some excitement at the climax and had a satisfying end. Heartily recommend!

Fun Adventure/Hidden Object Game
I played the entire game after purchasing. It played between 2 1/2-3 hrs. One of the main things I liked was that once you found an object in the HO scenes, it was no longer there when you went back. The basic premise of the story was the loss of an expedition team w/ you and your companion needed to find the surviving expedition member and save him from ? I really enjoyed the game and would recommend that others at least give it a try.
I have not played the other games in this series so can't comment on whether or not it is better. I liked the graphics and the voiceover at the beginning of each "chapter".
The hint and advice buttons are very helpful when you get really stuck, as, I admit, I did a few times. HO scenes ranged from easy to medium difficulty. Objects were not tiny, but sometimes well hidden. A few HO scenes you had to find objects by their silhouettes.
I would give this game 4 stars, mainly because of length. If I enjoyed a game I really do not care too much about length, however some games I don't want to end because I like them so much.

Fun HOG!
Spooky atmosphere for Lovecraft lovers! Hints recharge quickly at casual level, however, there are 3 levels of play available so it should be fun for all players. Found myself totally immersed in the game, solving the puzzles and finding the objects. Would recommend to all puzzle-loving, hidden object gamers.

[Sub]Par for the course
'Find your colleagues in a frozen mountain range' game. Visuals are nice, there are some voice-overs, 2 levels, Casual vs Expert, but the interest level just wasn't there for me. Not to mention the "puzzles" were pretty easy; I got through the 1st chapter in 10 mintues. All in all, an okay game but not one for my 'must buy' list.
