OK but not great The inventory in a case that you have to keep opening and closing is very annoying. Also, including a map would have been helpful because you have to keep going back to sites. As well as a notation of whether you have cleared a site or not. It doesn't seem to have caught up with other games that include these types of items in the journal. And, again, that inventory method is really, really annoying. January 27, 2012
Slow and boring... In this game you have to find your husband and your son in a ghost town. To solve a HOS, you must first find a card with a list of the objects. The HOS are dark. You will often return to the same HOS, and have to find the same objects... The mini-games are easy. The hint system is of no use. There is no map and a lot of walking back and forth. The cut-scenes are too slow. The whole game pace is slow, and I got bored pretty quickly. All in all, very disappointing... August 11, 2013
I can't believe I finished the whole thing I have never been fond of the other installments in the "Strange Cases" series, but thought after trying the demo on this one that it would be better. and it is, I'll give it that. there was really nothing redeeming about this game. the voice overs were wooden. the graphics were low-grade. the puzzles were very easy and certainly nothing unique. the hint button only repeats what's on your "objective" card if you're not in a hidden object scene. and let's talk about this hidden object scenes. the ones you revisit sometimes three times. picking up the same objects you've already picked up. there's no excuse for that in this day and age, and is pure laziness on the part of the programmers. there must be three dozen or so items to find in that scene, and you want me to pick up the hammer *again*? I bought it, I tried it, it's not for me. unfortunately, I wouldn't ever bother replaying it. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. January 23, 2012
Not for me... I have been playing a LOT of HOG's lately and this has got to be one of the worst I've come across. The visuals are fine, although everything seems a little dark and gloomy, but I can't comment on the sound as I never use it (I find the sound annoying in most of these type games). What I found particularly disappointing in this game was the lack of a viable hint. If you get stuck somewhere, expect to go round and round in circles because the game's hint feature will provide you with NOTHING. The hidden objects are easy to find, but not so much the card(!), which provides you with the list of objects you're expected to find. I finally just quit and I won't be purchasing this's just not for me. But if you like a real challenge this one may be for you because you're going to be on your own during gameplay! I prefer a higher level of intelligence in the games I play where the challenges are cleverly disguised, not completely impossible for the player to discover them, and the storyline follows a logical sequence of events. UCK! The review title sums up my opinion of this game. November 23, 2011
Just No! I didn't like anything about this game, especially not the suitcase on the side that holds the inventory and won't stay open. May 14, 2014
Horrible If the Help button led us to the correct location, it may have been better, but it did nothing when not in an HOS and the help took forever to recharge. I had to use the walkthrough just to follow the flow of the game. I've been playing these games for years and write very few reviews, but this one just wasn't fun. It was tedious. The puzzles were easy which is okay for me because I get very little time to play, but the fact that there were many times during the game where I had no idea where to go next and no clues and no help made it very un-fun. I finished it, because I hate to leave things undone, but I'm glad it's over and it's been removed from my game manager. December 28, 2013
Not what I thought I often find that the 1 hour free demo portrays a game that might be interesting. I have many times been mislead by this into buying a game. This is the case with this game. If you like plenty of HO?s of the find, point and click type you are in for a great time as most of this game is made up of these. The game producers have added a new factor where you have to find a green card. Once this card is located it lists the objects to be found. Yet another annoyance. The hint button takes a long time to recharge which isn?t too terrible as it is so useless. Many times it will show you something which is to be done even though you do not have the right tool and which you can see for yourself. The game is like so many others namely a character is abducted by a witch and is to be saved. The few puzzles are boring and easy to solve. This is another game where, in hindsight, I would not have wasted my money. This game is like many others with a similar storyline but which are much better produced and with much better graphics. The graphics in this game are grainy. I have played this game three times (I?m a glutton for punishment) in order to give a fair appraisal but I cannot find anything good to say about it.
