Agatha Christie - Death on the Nile 4.4 5 8 8
Love all the Agatha Christie games This has relaxing music, cool sounds and just a very relaxing game to play while on vacation or after work. Very nice artwork! Well worth the $$$$. I am wishing for another one of the series to come out...maybe even a SE!!! November 16, 2011
oh agatha i finished it! but need needed lots of hints...i'd get to the last item on the list and just could not see it! the mini games are good...i have a real problem of pipes (but am improving) and the watch me then you repeat (i am not improving). i do recommend the game for all christy fan who want to see if you can figure out the ending before the story tells you...with on exception...brand new beginners. Pretty good game Not true to the book really. Die-hard Christie fans probably wouldn't like this game. But if you like easy, typical HO games, this is worth it. There are limited hints but the objects are easy to find. The objects are random and don't help solve the mystery much. Good game, good graphics, ok plot. January 6, 2012
Loved the movie, Love this Hidden Object game PLUS SIDE = If you enjoyed watching the original Hercule Poirot movies, you may just love this game. However, it is only for those who really love playing Hidden Object scenes (and I am one of those gamers). The game follows the story of Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile. Poirot is traveling down the Nile in the SS Karnak along with a small group of passengers. A murder is committed and Poirot is asked to investigate. The story unfolds through the use of cutscenes, which are like silent movies. You will help Poirot conduct his investigation, and collect clues by examining each passenger's cabin and areas of the ship. The visuals are lushly detailed in each area. I love the detail in the graphics, each cabin has been wonderfully designed with a different theme/look. The Hidden Object scenes are tough, because the items are beautifully hidden within the detail of the room. I also liked the music, very appropriate to the setting, and it made me feel like I was back in time, traveling down the Nile on that luxury ship. I replay this game every two-three months because it is non-stressful and a visual delight for me. MINUS SIDE: The items can be small and are appropriately sized, which makes them hard to find among the many accessories in each area. The area/room scenes are also timed (20 minutes for 3-5 areas) but I usually finished them within the time period. You are limited to 5 hints per area scenes, so use them with prudence. Lastly, if you are looking for a sophisticated, intense adventure game, dislike Hidden Object scenes or don't like Agatha Christie mysteries, this is probably not the game for you. This is not a dark and scary game, and there are no supernatural or occult themes. December 29, 2011
poor graphics, no character sounds I like my games to have life. Therefore, I was disappointed playing this one. I found the graphics to be very low quality. I also did not like that the characters didn't speak, and you had to read text. Did not purchase. December 18, 2011
LITERALLY FABULOUS What an awesome game and very addictive. Fun for the family. Ages completed this game ranged from 4 - 40. Try it. January 12, 2012
A Bit of a Challenge This is a little more of a challenge than Peril at End House. Great graphics with a famous storyline. The challenge was in trying to find some of the objects... they were well blended -laughs- But had to get it to add it to the collection and wasn't disappointed. January 22, 2012
GORGEOUS HO scenes but pitiful otherwise... The absolutely gorgeous HO scenes are well worth the price of the game, to me, but they kind of have to be, since that is really all there is to this game... Unfortunately, the makers of this game did not use any modern graphics or programming to make the adventure or mystery part of this game more interesting or entertaining. The characters are NOT animated--you highlight one from a picture to 'interrogate' your witness/suspects! It's as though they spent all their funds on commissioning the artwork for the HO scenes (of which there are plenty) and had NONE for the programmers/developers for the rest of the game! There is no speech, you have to read all the dialog. If you, like me, enjoy HO games then this is a MUST PLAY game. The artwork is some of the finest, with most objects/scenes obviously hand drawn or watercolours. The objects are mostly moderately easy to find, with 1 or 2 difficult to find objects in each scene. Often, you will have to return to a scene 2 or even 3 times, but usually with different items on your list to find. There is a time limit, but I found it to be no problem to complete everything within the time allotted. Hints are available and you can earn extra hints in game play. You can select which item you want a hint for, too. This is helpful when the American vs British English name for an item is different! The mini games/puzzles are fairly easy with a few exceptions, but one can skip them should one desire. For those who are looking for a lovely, relaxing HO game, BUY THIS. For those gamers who are looking for a HO game with some adventure or strategy involved, I'd try before I bought. Overall, a BEAUTIFUL game with lovely artwork. I bought it bundled with 2 other Christie games (Peril at End House and Dead Man's Folly). They all employ the same methods, have similar gameplay and the same gorgeous artwork. I highly recommend you try them all! Nice for de-stressing & relaxing--popcorn for the brain, as I call it! January 21, 2012
