Excellent HOG!
I downloaded the CE when it first came out, and then didn't buy it. Then, I downloaded the SE and bought that one, and it was a good move - totally worth the money. Great story line, intense, a bad guy, the good people, all of it was great. The main character gets in a car accident in the beginning, and then has to save souls and collect medallions to get out of the ghost town and back to the "other side".
Towards the end, the game has you running back and forth, but I didn't mind that, as I was really excited to get to the end.
The characters were great, the bad guy was really bad, parts of it were pretty scary, all in all, an excellent hog!

Average game
This is a nice, but average HO game. The story line is somewhat novel and intriguing, and it is nice to have a game that does not take place in a creepy old mansion, or have lots of blood and gore. HO scenes lead to finding necessary objects that move the game forward, which I always like, but they are straight forward, and I like when some objects must be altered by other objects first, such as finding the knife to slice open the apple, to get apple seeds. Also, the playing environment is rather small. Because there is a lot of returning to places, sometimes that is a plus, but I prefer moving on to fresh new places with fresh new graphics. There are a few mini puzzles of average difficulty, but most are familiar ones like picking locks or placing gears, There is a simple logic puzzle that I have not seen before, but it could have been a bit more challenging. The graphics are a bit grainy and more like drawings than crisp, lifelike images. This makes the HO scenes more difficult, but in a frustrating way, rather than in a challenging way. Overall, I liked the game because the story line and setting were refreshing to me, but I think they made a good game when they could have made a great one.

Scary in parts; fun to play
This is a visually beautiful game; the graphics are very clear & sharp & the scenes full of interesting details that suit the setting, kudos to the artists on this one. There are a lot of areas to explore in the town & each is worth a pause simply to look at the scenery.
The story is engaging; after a car crash you wake up in Resurrection with no idea of how you got there or why but you need to find a way to escape. There are characters to meet, some friendly, some sinister & a very large green snake slithering about the place. Where ever you go there are warning signs & the sheriff keeps popping up & threatening you; it?s all very spooky.
I was disappointed that there are no voiceovers however the music is excellent & very much in keeping with the setting. There is only one mode of play & you cannot switch off the sparkles, one rather annoying point, after you have examined an item of interest & no longer need to revisit it the sparkles continue to twinkle at its location.
You get a journal with a task list & story, the hint button recharges at 30 seconds & is very helpful; if you get stuck it will tell you what/where to go next. The hidden object scenes are well drawn & many items are blended so as to make them hard to find. One word of WARNING: in a relatively early scene in the basement of a house a very large spider drops down onto the screen, it certainly made me jump. There are several other ?scares? of this type & plenty of bugs crawling around the H0 scenes.
There are the usual types of mini puzzles to play plus some that required logic to solve, these were fun. In addition some inventory items that you collect will need to be combined but the game does not tell you which ones; you need to figure that out for yourself.

a must have after the 1 hour trial
I did think it was going to be boring but was I wrong its got a good story to lead you and games and all sorts you have to find and then remember where you had to take them back so as to go forward, I will be buying this one. Only one thing to much heavy music so had to turn off, not to worry was enjoying the game sorting it with my hubby

Different game.
Storyline kept me moving fwd. Objects to find were cleverly hidden. Mini games were good. I was surprised by the ending. Was expecting something different, however It was a pleasant surprise.
The Hint button was helpful whenever I wasn't sure what to do next or where to go.
Enjoy.

Not too Shabby, Good Playtime!
IMO, it was easy in some places, not so much in others. Got stuck, had to use the forums for help, but otherwise was a pretty good game. Graphics were top of the line. As I play with the sound off, the subtitles were good, but can't really comment on the quality of the sound.
Decent game to spend your money on!

definitely play the trial first
I gave this a try, I'm not a fan of things jumping out at me so that dissuaded me right away. I played some more to see if it was worthy of a daily deal but the HO scenes were what finally turned me away.
The music is nice, reminded me of Santana, and the storyline seemed interesting. The graphics weren't horrible but the HO scenes were grainy and there were so many of them! The interesting storyline came to a standstill because I was stuck doing one HO scene after another with very little in between.

Absolutely a 5 star quality game.
I couldn't fault this game. It captured my interest right from the get go. A superb Adventure/Hog.
The storyline was not only very good but it played out cohesively throughout the game.
The hint system was informative without trying to play the game for you, there wasn't an over abundance of HOG scenes, the puzzles were sensible and relative to the task at hand, and there is a very helpful journal which list the tasks to be accomplished for each character.
MEDIA ART is not a developer I'm familar with, but am now very impressed with, I will now look for other games from this developer.
I cannot recommend this game enough.
