Spellbinding and addictive This game is amazing - excellent story - good character interaction - more puzzles than hidden object (at least 10 to 1) - graphics crisp, detailed and atmospheric. The puzzles are different, each one gets you thinking - I skipped two in total and will probably replay to try and get them all. The chapters are of a good length and keep the overall story going. My interest in hidden object games has almost disappeared but this game had me enthralled and determined to finish the game. December 4, 2011
Go Forth And Buy! This is the second game in this series I've played and it's just as beautiful and entertaining as Death At Fairing Point. The artwork is astonishing and a pleasure to gaze upon. All the characters are believable, including the narrator and the plot has been polished to perfection. The soundtrack is a duplicate of the first game but works really well with this story, too. Fast recharge hint/skip buttons, very good ambient sounds, and interesting, challenging puzzles round out this amazing offering from Boomzap. Trouble is, now I want to move to Tuscany.... Review has more detail about the puzzles I really enjoyed the first game so wanted to buy this. The main story/plot concluded 100% in this SE version (will put at very end what the CE story is - it was just a sideline about the writer) It had no sparkles at all in the advanced mode I played (great!) When I first started playing it was one easy puzzle straight after each other and thought it was going to be a very easy game (I prefer harder puzzles). While this isn?t a hard HOPA it does slowly get a bit harder so some puzzles are more medium by the time you are half way through to the end. But at least the adventure side kept it more interesting and there was not a lot of backtracking in this game. Hint button very helpful as it told you what you could do, so you don't need the walkthrough. Those who love HO scenes this game isn?t for you. If you love loads of mini games and puzzles but not on the hard side, this is so for you. SPOILER for type of puzzles and H O scenes - Hidden object scenes ? 5 ? one true junk scene (shown in screenshot). And one frog scene. 2 outline scene. One find 15 of ?x? type scene. A couple of scenes of zoomed in clipped shots of place it in the large photo. PUZZLES a good mix - There was a fit the shapes in an area (and there was a outline on some of the background which told you where to put them, which made it easier which I didn?t like). There was a machine arcade game of match 3. A lot of drag and put things in the right place type minigame. There were a few ? find the pictures that relate to each other.? Loads of different variation of Swap tiles or put in right order and rotate. Mechanical arm to get prize wasn?t logical and pure guess and still didn?t show in the cut sequence what order you pressed the buttons. There were some that were medium hardness games ? it would have been helpful to know the greek alphabet, I don?t but you can easily work that puzzle by process of elimination and there were some clues. Cooking ? find the recipe and ingredients in the minigame OVERALL? I loved the number of puzzles and minigames, storyline, and no sparkles. It would have been good if there were more harder puzzles. If there were some morphs, a bit harder puzzles I would give this game an A+. As is I would give it a good B+. 5hrs 21mins main (SE) and 6hr 34 min including bonus I played the CE. spoiler for CE story It followed her and the professor in a side story. Story plot wise it wasn't involved but at least the SE ending was complete! December 30, 2011
Great game I tried the game first and found that it was challenging, but, not so difficult that you get frustrated and wonder why anyone would buy this game, lol. Beautiful graphics and the background music is the most tolerable of all the games that I have played. As soon as I complete this rating I'm going to purchase it. December 3, 2011
BIG Hidden Objects ! Yippeeeee ! Yes ! They are all big -except in a couple of scenes where they're standard size, big enough at least to be spotted without difficulty. Thank you Boomzap. For once I didn't have to press my nose against the screen to try an locate the odd transparent clover or the traitorously invisible safety pin. A feature that a not-HO-lover guy like me knows how to appreciate, but which might not fully satisfy players who adore them. In addition they are crisp and clear and do look like real-life objects. A plus. Add to that a generous Hint System that recharges fast. Furthermore, the total amount of puzzles and minigames amount to 50 -up to Chapter 5, and a few more in Chapter 6 ! You actually get an award if you complete those 50 without skipping any of them. As they are all easy -except one slider that's a bit more tricky- you can complete them all with a bit of patience. They are varied, not overly original for some of them, and randomized most of the time. Awards too, for achieving several tasks, even for completing a chapter in less than 60 mns. I didn't get those because I like taking my time and having breaks. But if you get all 6 of them, that means total playtime is 6 hours or less. The artwork is quite good, sharp, rich, lively colored; I think many scenes are photos, actually, or based on them. The music is soft, relaxing, unobtrusive. The voice-over is professional. There is no map, but it's difficult to get lost in this game, and the objectives, though not stated, are simple. Putting the useful objects into use is easy too. The storyline being rather similar to that of Death at Fairing Point, I bought the SE, yet I got so much fun out of it that I could have done with the CE, especially that the whole game is an improvement on its predecessor. A very enjoyable game, ideal for beginners and intermediate players. 4.5 stars is a well deserved rating, I think, rounded up to 5 naturally. December 16, 2011
Fantastic Game! This game has everything ... hidden objects, many many mini games, interaction and a good story line. The mini games were fairly simple with a couple that boggled us, but we kept trying and didn't skip any. There are achievements to reach and that is always a fun challenge. We missed 2 because of our extra time spent on a couple of the mini games, so we will try again to get all 19 achievements. A well spent 5 1/2 hours play time. December 7, 2011
Lovely love story This game was fantastic, beautiful story, great graphics, I am a sucker for love stories and having a mystery attach to this one in a game was just my cup of tea, lots of hidden objects and games, some easy some more challenging but all good. December 5, 2011
Nice Game In this game, the puzzle are a little easy. It is entertaining. December 3, 2011
Beautiful Every now and then a game comes along that is so beautifully made and this one was it.The graphics were so well done and the game play went smoothly. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the mini-games which were quite easy and I like it that way.I cannot stand the mini-games in most games,I would rather concentrate on the adventure itself. The story was nicely done.Oh yeah, this one was a beauty! Good change of pace game Game quality is good. This is a Boom Zap game and they usually put out great games. The hint button works well and no need to have a walkthrough. There are under 5 HO scenes. Wish this would happen in more CE games. In place of HO's there are several mini games that are not too bad. I had to turn the sound way down because it is all piano music and it just about drove me nuts. If you need a break from fast paced games and CE's this is a good options. December 8, 2011
