Bravo! Bravo! This game grabbed me from the start--what is not to like about going to Italy! Graphics: They are superb--crisp, bright, colorful, and detailed. Not a lot of HO's in this game, but they are very well done. Story: The story is interesting and refreshing; not so macabre as so many are these days, The game plays logically, and I love the plentiful use of the Italian language in the background details. I speak some Italian, so this makes the game extra fun for me :-) I found the music soothing, but it is repetitive which might annoy some. It is more of a romantic mystery than a frightening one, so to each their own. Game play: I played the advanced version. The game is smooth and logical. This is less of an HO game, and more of an interactive adventure game. There are plenty of mini puzzles, some which are quite easy, and a few that are more challenging. I found all the puzzles entertaining though, because they are refreshing, colorful, and some are puzzles within puzzles. While there is back and forth, it is not overdone, and completed areas will no longer highlight. Also, you move through chapters to keep the game moving forward, which presents fresh new scenes, a plus since the graphics are so beautiful. Some objects you collect will have to be used again (realistic!!), so don't forget to retrieve them! The goal sheet and journal are helpful, and if you are truly stuck, the hints will tell you what you need to know. The characters you meet in the game are helpful and well placed. Game length: I took my time with this game to savor the graphics, and because I liked all the Italian details. It took me a little over four hours to finish--which I consider a good value for my money. For me, this had most of the elements of a 5 star game. What it lacked: I like HO's where you have manipulate some objects, like open a box, or use a pair of scissors. Also, I like when a certain object is hidden throughout the game. For example, find all 50 frogs. These are minor things though, and my personal preferences. Bravo to the developers! I hope they continue to produce such high quality games! January 2, 2012
Nice Game In this game, the puzzle are a little easy. It is entertaining. December 3, 2011
THE BEST OF 2011 In my opinion this game was the best game I played in 2011 for many reasons. The story was enchanting, the music fitting, the mini-games a delightful mixture of entertainment, the scenery beautiful and the HOS were not so many as to become overpowering to the story. Rather than "just" an adventure this was a delightful and engrossing trip through Italy while solving a mystery. Why can't we have many more games made like this??? I hope other developers will begin to make games this entertaining but if not I hope the developers of this game will continue to produce their games with the same quality and caliber as this. I highly recommend this game. January 5, 2012
Good change of pace game Game quality is good. This is a Boom Zap game and they usually put out great games. The hint button works well and no need to have a walkthrough. There are under 5 HO scenes. Wish this would happen in more CE games. In place of HO's there are several mini games that are not too bad. I had to turn the sound way down because it is all piano music and it just about drove me nuts. If you need a break from fast paced games and CE's this is a good options. December 8, 2011
A Totally Under Estimated & Overlooked Game Review based upon completion of game: A very beautiful game, both visually and musically. The artwork is magnificent. The music is classical piano, I am not fond of classical music however, this was fantastic. The music is very relaxing; I have to say this was THE most relaxing game I have ever played. ? No map; the game is easy flowing so there is no trouble figuring out where to go or what to do. Items used are very intuitive, normal items to do normal tasks. ? There is some voice over from the main character throughout the game. ? There are 6 chapters total. It is quite a long playing game, the timer at the end stated 6 hours 19 minutes and 22 seconds. I did not skip any puzzles; hint button was used once on the organ puzzle. ? There are achievements to strive for and there are 50 puzzles in this game (wow). Puzzle difficulty progresses as the game moves on, ranging from somewhat easy to deceptively thought provoking. I did not count HO scenes, but there were very few of them, maybe 5? HO scenes were very well done, clear and full, not junk pile. Click penalty? Well I click quite fast and did not get any penalties until midway through the game then it turned the curser red and paused for maybe 10 seconds. If you click slowly there is no problem. ? There is some to and fro, but it is practically nothing to speak of. ? Plays like more of an adventure than HOG. Would be great intro into adventure genre. I have not found any game quite like this one. It is so enjoyable to play. Please do try the demo, it is refreshingly different. If you are looking for something to relax and enjoy I HIGHLY recommend this game. July 25, 2012
Good first game This is the first HOG that I've played, and I found it challenging but not overly hard. Games were easy to understand what to do, but sometimes hard to figure out. Good flow through the scenes and good variety of games. June 9, 2012
Relaxing game with great graphics It is refreshing to play a game with such gorgeous scenes. The developer did not resort to the all too frequent horror stories that are found in many games. This game was a pleasure to play with an interesting mystery and a variety of puzzles. I look forward to more games like this. February 7, 2012
