So you want a challenge...... I have played several HOG, but this one is in a category of it's own. One must think while covering multiple locations. Some of the puzzles lacked clarity on the directions of how to solve, but you can skip it if you want. The graphics and storyline is excellent. This is one that wont be completed in 4 hours, but it will keep you interested. I will play this game often, its a good thing it came with the stategy guide-enjoy!! December 13, 2011
At last Terrific game - longer than most. Two negative comments - some of the items in the HO scenes were almost impossible to see, even with a hint, and there was next to no explanation of how to do the mini-puzzles. A little more direction is needed. December 12, 2011
Could have been better This is a well-crafted game, professionaly rendered artwork, good music and live actors. Well, except sometimes the actors become stills as though the developers ran out of budget for the actors. The story is marginal at best. The hint system is top-notch giving excellent clues along the way and charging fast. The included map is not well done providing little assistance. There is a lot of going back and forth (I wish somebody would develop a game that didn't require so much clicking around), and some of the objects used for some situations are laughable and certainly nonintuitive. I would have been lost without the hint system. I was disappointed in this game - such promise, such hokiness. (Is that a word?) May 6, 2012
HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES & INVENTORY ITEMS I enjoyed this game IMMENSELY because it was VERY interactive (including the hidden object areas -- more on that in a moment) and the HINT system (when I got brain-dead and couldn't figure out where to go or do) WILL provide you with your next place of action AND what inventory item to use when you got there; not only that but you ALWAYS had said inventory item in your "bar of tricks". LOL The one thing that would consistently hold me up was in doing the hidden object scenes; they're ALL interactive and OFTIMES, you've got to use an item FROM YOUR INVENTORY (which I would forget to do) to complete the interactivity and close out the hidden object areas. Be warned, though, you may NOT be able to IMMEDIATELY close out said areas until sometime later in the game play. Some of the puzzles were "beyond these old gray cells" and I had to either skip or use the walkthrough to complete (depending on my mood and/or the complexity of the puzzles -- one of them were cut-out scenes type movie things and it just was "over my head") and a couple of them were like "huh?" and I'd have to check the walkthrough for clarification. One of the puzzles -- though I understood what needed to be done -- STILL was unclear to me (even with the walkthrough) because I didn't understand where the traveling item needed to end up (in the middle of the board, BTW) and so I just followed the walkthrough row-by-row and made the changes and THEN it became clear to me where the traveling item needed to disappear at. Remember, also, to use your cursor and travel the screen high and low and all 4 sides (although not necessary to do it slowly) because you'll never know where you'll be picking up items or having areas wherein you'll need to return. I got tripped up a couple of times because I ended up with inventory items with no idea as to their purposes and got stuck as to where to go and had to click on the hint button for more information. For me, a very enjoyable (non hair-pulling LOL) and long game that can be followed easily by referring often to your inventory items and when need to, clicking the hint button. January 31, 2012
Fantastic Adventure Game! You couldn't ask for much more than this game offers in the way of Adventure/Hidden Object games! There is a great story line and keeps you involved and interested right to the end. With the hint system the SE offers there is no reason to pay for the CE. I absolutely loved the hidden object scenes! Very interactive. Mini games were difficult, unique and can be skipped if needed. Voice overs were very well done as was the art work. No irritating background music but good sound effects! There were two reasons that I didn't give this a 5 star. One, the game seemed to speed up and slow down. At times I could move from scene to scene very quickly. Other times it was a frustrating pause. Two, I still don't know why I was collecting birds in every scene. All in all a fantastic and fun game. im glad i didn't buy the collectors edition Look the game is ok! Not bad puzzles and interactive hidden object scenes! The game just didn't flow right! Some hidden scenes required tools you have collected along the way however you couldn't finish the scene because you wouldn't receive the tool till you did 4 other things.(which really wasn't always straight forward)if you play casual mode it has a built in walkthrough by hitting the hint button.it really just didn't flow and theres no other way to explain it! Fun and long! I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was difficult without being impossible and it seemed to go on forever. Excellent value. I never take much notice of the stories but this ws a good one and actually had an ending which seems to be rare. Well worth a look. March 26, 2012
Great fun HOG Loved it. Demo hard but hints helped.Graphic good Great game plan, Good one for us oldies December 13, 2011
No choice I am not a big fan on having real characters in games it takes the game part out for me. I could never make a game myself but if I could I would hope to do stronger graphic and no people. January 30, 2013
Tough and interesting game The story was interesting and graphics and sound were great. But things often didn't make sense and it was very necessary to check the walk-through fairly often. I figured a lot of stuff out but needed help and most puzzles were simply too hard for me and I skipped them. But the game still lasted pretty long. It is a good value. January 16, 2013
