Almost Great! I really did like this game but the one thing that stop me from giving it a 5 star rating is it didn't last long enough it ended too soon n for the money u spend b it 1 - a million doesn't matter it's what u get for it n as I said ended way to soon!!! September 9, 2014
Fun game Island Castaway 2 No more quests!! Stuck at Chapter 4, stating wait for new updates. May 25, 2014
Pale comparison to the original The original "The Island: Castaway" game was relatively unique. The game play was different from a lot of the other games out there and it was a mix of "find things" and "go on this adventure", along with a solid story line. Clearly a lot of work and imagination went into it. The sequel, however, is pretty much the original game with a few changes made and a new story line. The map is almost completely identical to to the original. A lot of the game play is similar, too, and that can be both good and bad. If you already know how to work the tools and do the cooking from the first game you'll have an easy time adapting to this game, and if you don't you'll learn quickly. There is some new stuff [like making potions, new shops and new ways to make some things], but most of the game is a rehash of the original. Another big complaint for this game is how the forwarding of the plot is far more contrived and forced. There are places in the plot that imply you have a choice about how things will go and then it turns out the game forces the choice for you. That, and the fact that most of the endgame is all pre-made recorded clips, took a lot out of the game for me. They need a new map, some new, original additions, and the next one could be a winner. This game is fun, but I would get it with a coupon-code or a punch-card freebee. This is one of the times I wish the 'Recommend This Game?" had an option for "maybe". I don't disrecommend it, but it is just not as good as the original. December 31, 2011
Good training for a marathon I've never done so much running around as on that island. No wonder the poor kid (the hero) is always hungry. That set aside, I didn't find anything interesting to do during the whole of the demo which I decided to download out of pure curiosity since I never tried this type of game before. To be blunt, that game bored me to tears. No exciting action whatsoever, only repetitive tasks, not the slightest bit of challenge and far too much blah blah. I spent half the time listening to endless dialogues. The objectives are not all that clear, the ultimate goal is fairly obscure - I suppose it gets clearer as you progress in the game, no puzzle to solve, just talk, run, talk, run, and perform menial tasks....... Though clear and pleasantly colored, the graphics are not in the least sophisticated. Yet I was stunned by the quality of the script and the voive-overs. They are truly professional. Still, the whole "adventure", which is mainly a matter of public relations - why is it in the strategy category ? - is so oversimplistic as to be unlikely to satisfy gamers - especially grown-ups - used to more substance, true adventure and tougher nuts to crack. I guess you need to be a real fan of the genre to appreciate it. However much I would like to please those who like it, I cannot possibly recommend this game. December 14, 2011
Oh Dear! I had a trial of this game, played about 30 min, walked around the island, collected everything I saw, got a couple of achievements and listened to endless talk, talk, talk and didn't have a clue what I was doing. Phew, no buy for me. September 23, 2013
