I liked it! I really liked. I really, really liked it. My favourite kind of game. I played the demo and I'm pretty sure I can't resist the temptation of buying it. But this is me... so I suggest you try it and see for yourselves. December 15, 2011
Meh, okay, but I wish I hadn't gotten the CE I got the demo first, which I thought was fun and therefore worth my two credits. I downloaded 3 diff games to try and picked this one. Obviously, the storyline and the visuals sucked me in, they were good. Sadly, the challenge is lacking, in my opinion. There is one HOS per room. I did like that it told me when I was done with a room. That was really helpful. There were less than a handful of puzzles. So many things could have been a puzzle like most games and they weren't. For example, I had to get pipes, but I didn't have to figure out how to place them. It was interesting that I had to figure out what objects where needed where to get the next object. That was interesting. I also liked that you got more than one object per HOS. So, there weren't HOSes for HOSes sake, as it were. I might play it again, someday, but it will be a while. Now I need to go find something else with more puzzles. I'm going to recommend this game, but I mean the basic edition, not the CE. December 18, 2011
Very easy game to play I wasn?t very impressed; this is an OK game but is not the best offering I have seen from Gogii games. On the positive side I loved the choices of gameplay; Casual has sparkles, glints & is so easy that you will not need the strategy guide & Advanced has a 90 second hint recharge & no glints but there is a Custom mode which is excellent. You can set how fast/slow you want the hint & skips to recharge, whether you want in game help; basically set it up to your wish. You can change any of the modes within the game without having to restart. The hidden object scenes have some very well blended items & are not too easy but there are not many mini puzzles to solve & they are very simple. This is not a game that will challenge the brain cells & it is very linear, there is a little backtracking but not enough to need a map. The voiceovers, ambient sounds & music are good & the graphics are pretty average; you move between the ?real? world & a ?ghost? world, the ghost world is rather like an overexposed photograph. There are a lot of rooms to explore & Area Cleared will be shown once you have done everything necessary in a room. I did not need to use the built in strategy guide at all. The bonus game is an entirely different story to the main game & only took me 40 minutes to complete. If you want an easy game then this is for you but I would not recommend for someone who prefers there H0s with a slice of adventure. February 25, 2012
Visuals light up "Ghosts" CE This may not be one of the most difficult games recently released, but it is one of the best. Realm of Ghosts has a seductive quality not often found in the latest round of HO/ADHO being offered. "Ghosts" does not rely on ghastly blood drenched scenes to get one's attention. There is no looking for HOs in decomposing bodies or the innards of garbage cans or revolting graves. The chill factor is achieved through a great sound track combined with beautiful and fully fleshed out scenes. There was no skimping on the finest detail in these carefully and artfully rendered graphics. It is the use of lighting techniques used in the HO scenes to distract the eye that is amazing. One scene will be overflowing with visuals and another so spare that it is hard to believe there are any HOs to be found. It is this slight of hand visual distortion and manipulation that sets "Ghosts" apart IMHO the game play is up to the player. One can easily race through "Ghosts" or one can choose to stroll along enjoying the artwork, reading the story as the game progresses, and actually looking at what is being presented visually. Frankly, easy puzzles can be precisely the right thing when "headbanging" puzzles get tedious. The ease of the puzzles will appeal to those who "just don't want to think about another thing". The linear story line is works in "Ghosts". It does not make the game less engrossing, just less taxing. Moreover, there are many clever little surprises that keep moving the story and player along. This is a perfect "beach book" game, made for engaging play on a gray dreary day. December 29, 2011
Different and fun I don't usually write reviews but this is worthy. The voiceovers are fantastic for a nice change, the gameplay is involving and fun, plus the graphics are well done. Hiding things for different realms is a great and unique idea. Definitely worth the purchase. I read in another review that the game isn't super long, but when it's this good who cares? I don't usually give 5 stars !! I haven't even finished the demo yet, but I love it !! Will definitely buy the C.E. Great background music (not annoying), outstanding graphics, and different than the other games. This game definitely has a different feel to it. There are a lot of different rooms; always moving. The sound effects, for example, lightning is not the standard, canned sound. I love the fact that when you're done in an area it says AREA CLEARED. Being able to move between realms - like it. You see the room as an old dirty room, then you pass through to the 'other realm' and see it as it once was. Great graphics. I definitely recommend this game. December 15, 2011
Really enjoyed this one!!! This game is very entertaining and the artwork is beautiful. The puzzles are not extremely difficult which for me is great! There's a lot of things to do and I really liked investigating in both realms. The story line is good too! The strategy guide is very helpful without being a complete walthrough. I didn't skip any of the puzzles either (I skip when the puzzle takes too long or is confusing). The game is a little short though, it only took me around 4 hours to complete, including the bonus play. Some people may not feel the length of time is worth buying the CE but I do. The wallpapers you get are fabulous, there are 11 of them. I will definitely play again. Look forward to a sequel! December 17, 2011
Fantastic Game This game went way too fast! The is the best Adventure HO Game I have played in a long time. Very different from the norm. The sound effects never got annoying. The "lightening" sound was very very realistic! I've haven't played a game like this one. To go from the present to the past, hide objects, then go back to present to find them. Utterly brilliant! I highly recommend this game! December 21, 2011
Unique, fun, enjoyable game! I had a great time playing this game! I loved that during gameplay you have to hide items from the ghost realm to obtain them in the living realm! I thought this was very clever and I've never seen this in any game before! The HOS were not really challenging nor were the things that have to be done in order to move on to the next scene/room, BUT this did not take anything away from the game as far as I'm concerned! I also loved the storyline and the bonus chapter! The graphics were awesome and the sound wasn't at all annoying to me! All in all, this game was a lot of fun and I look forward to the sequel! Fun game for beginners The graphics are pretty good and the story line is okay. But this game is definitely for beginners. There was only one kind of puzzle throughout the whole game and it was extremely simple to solve. If you're a beginner, you'll enjoy this game. If you're an advanced player, don't bother with it.
