Nothing new under the sun
What struck me most right from the beginning of the demo, is how clear and sharp all the graphics are. Many are bright, other somewhat darker, but all are drawn with simplicity and a sheer pleasure to look at. That set aside the game is standard in every respect and doesn't shine by its originality.
Played on Casual, the easiest of the 3 Modes, everything is pretty straighforward. You will have no problem going through every HOS, some of them more or less interactive, finding the useful items and using them.
Idem the puzzles, which for that reason are not a model of challenge. There are not many of them either. I found the second one quite interesting though, but the others failed to arouse my enthusiasm. Am I blas ? I wonder.
The fast recharging Hint System will show you the items as well as indicate where to go next and what to look for.
As for the tasks, they are the usual ones, save a few that are specific to exorcism.
Mileage is far from being excessive and backtracking reduced to a fair amount. No map necessary -there isn't one anyway.
The voice-overs, with a typical, posh british accent, aren't bad at all even though they don't sound too natural at times.
But the cutscenes come up much too often and are much too long, and THAT irritated me a lot, to the extent I hit the SKIP button at the start of each one.
As a result, I am not sure of the quality of the storyline. It seems more like "how to exorcise in 5 easy leasons" than a plot cleverly thought out.
In spite of the abundant ghosts and demons and a sinister intro, nothing is really scary in this game; in fact some things are rather amusing like certain actions you need to perform on the demons.
The music is insignificant and the atmosphere could have been made more punchy, in the style of the movie "The Omen".
I haven't played Exorcist 1 so I can't tell whether this installment is better or not.
After one hour of the demo, I had reached Scene 3 of Chapter 3 -due to skipping the cutscenes; which means an overall short playtime since you have only 5 Chapters in all
To me this game is worth 3 stars. But its easiness makes it a good start off for a beginner, or and interesting adventure for gamers who like exorcism or don't want to have to think too much, for a change, after playing harder games.

A game well worth playing
This was a really excellent game. The graphics and voiceovers were well done (although the demon voice was a little too drawn out), and there was a clever use of side bars which effectively gave the game a widescreen effect. The storyline was well thought out and HOS's were clear but not too easy. The puzzles were a little easy but all in all this was a really great game. I especially loved the English accents - hilarious!!

Excellent Game
An excellent game for an SE. The graphics are well done and clear. There are voice overs for the characters. The puzzles are fairly easy to solve. There are three levels to choose from casual to difficult which for someone like me who enjoys challenges, it was perfect. Yet, if you do not like a challenge, you can still play with relative ease in the casual mode. Be warned that it does contain some material which may be either offensive religiously or very graphic since it deals with exorcisms. For me enjoyable; however, it was not a very long game as some of the CEs.

Great Game
This is a very good game that played well on my computer. It is creepy but fun to play. There aren't a lot of hidden object scenes which is a plus for me, and the puzzles are challenging.

A Pretty Good Sequel
This review is based on the whole game and playing in Expert mode.
The story: You take on the role of a young exorcist on his first sole battle with the forces of evil where you also have to save your mentor.
There are 5 chapters to this game and I was at chapter 2 when the demo time was up.
3 play modes:
Casual - Hints/skip recharge quickly and active zones are indicated by sparkles.
Expert - Hints/skip recharge slowly (about 2 minutes) and active zones are not indicated. Just shows sparkles for the hidden object scenes.
Professional - No hints, puzzles cannot be skipped, active zones are not indicated.
Voice overs along with text on the screen that you can read if you wish and there is also a journal however no map.
This game may or may not fill your screen. Instead of the usual "black bars" on the side there is a "rose border" but I changed my settings so the game would fill the screen.
My overall impression of this game:
The story I found to be pretty well done for the most part and a nice sequel to the first Exorcist game along with the characters and voice overs however the dialogue was a bit much at times and I found the demons downright annoying as I couldn't understand what they were saying so I found myself clicking through the dialogue to get past those parts as I didn't even want to read it.
The graphics I also thought pretty good for the most part. Nice, crisp, and clear. Just a couple of areas were a bit grainy to me.
The journal I found to be very helpful especially solving some of the puzzles. Speaking of the puzzles I enjoyed most of them as for me they weren't too easy or difficult having just the right amount of challenge but I did skip a couple.
The hidden object scenes: This seemed to be more "adventure" for me which was just fine as there are quite a few different locations with the traveling back/forth however the hidden object scenes despite the grainy graphics in a couple of areas I found the items pretty easy to locate as I only used a few hints which the hint was helpful and was also helpful if you can't figure out where to go next as I lost my way a few times.
As for the game length, I found it to be long enough as 5 hours was definitely long enough for me. I did not find this short at all. You may or may not.
Overall I give this a 4 star rating as it was pretty enjoyable "dark side" game for the most part but I had to knock this down a star mostly for the drawn out dialogue at times along with the annoying demons voice overs.
So if you enjoy the "dark side" type of games I definitely recommend you at least play the demo to see what you think of it.
Thank you Big Fish for a pretty good sequel here. : )

incredibly good
When I saw the game I found it odd, that is because is not the type of game I would be expecting to see during the holidays, you know more like a Halloween theme.
But I thought it was interesting so I downloaded the demo, played on professional mode because my believe that it was going to be an easy game, well I was not disappointed, it was challenging enough without hints.
I can not believe that I bought it just after playing the demo as I wanted to see more of it.
It was actually a good game.

Historical Horror
Excellent combination of religious rituals, horrific evil forces and paradoxical puzzles...tests the talents of the would be Exorcist'
Sound and graphics were great along with superb voice overs. Puzzles are not super easy but not impossible either. There is just the right balance of substance.

Better
Well i must say that Exorcist 2 is a much better game play than the first Exorcist. I wished it could have been just a little longer and that the ending wasn't so abrupt, all in all it was a good game and i enjoyed it. The music suits the theme.

Spooky Good
Yes unusual for the Holiday Season but still a good one in my mind. Solid creative delivery of a demonic theme; great voice overs, beautiful and vivid graphics, spooky scenes with floating possessed bodies and demon figures around you. Also beautiful drawings for the HOS and not difficult. I wish it would have been a full screen the side panels help compensate though but still would be better in my mind. A definite for the new year after the celebrating is over.
