Not a fan of the "morph" items. I have to say MCF games are my favorite and I do own them all but I personally want the hidden objects instead of the items that morph. There's not a lot of challenge to looking for things that change in appearance. This is one of the MCF I will not purchase. Bring my H.O. back and I will buy in a heartbeat! December 22, 2011
Seriously unpleasant experience and too complicated Sorry Guys you've lost me on this one. It is a seriously unpleasant game - over complicated with impossible puzzles. Feels like a group of young men were given a large budget and left to give indulge their gross-out factor (I mean vacuuming babies out of pregnant women, c'mon on). Some of us play these games for relaxation and enjoyment. Weird need not mean gross, take Madam Fate as an example, that is a really great game. Get back to what you do best. December 22, 2011
Huge Disappointment! I love the MCF games, but Escape from Ravenhearst falls flat. I personally get excited in a game when I see an area that sparkles, because I know I'm going to get a useful object. It is so hard to know what to do in this game its ridiculous! A helpful hint button would have been nice. Even the strategy guide in the CE was useless. When a game becomes a chore, I quit. December 21, 2011
blurry object game so far i am disliking this purportedly hidden object game, i keep stopping because it bores me the blurry object treatment is annoying when you thought it would be great like the first two ravenhurst games December 21, 2011
Disappointed I have been a huge MCF fan since the first game. Return to Ravenhearst amazing and fun, creative. Was so excited when I saw this game out, purchased immediately based on prior experience. Very disappointed in game play change. December 22, 2011
One of the best games I've ever played This game is brilliant. Granted, the plot is not for everyone (you WERE warned, it's scary and disquieting) but I found it to be engaging and most of all a lot of fun. I really like the morphing objects. Frankly, hidden objects were getting a bit old and this was a refreshing change. The graphics, music, acting, all top notch. I highly recommend this game. December 22, 2011
Not as awful as Hannibal.... but.... Oh dear, oh dear, what happened to the Ravenhearst series ? I loved the first two so much ! Yes, this one is a thriller alright, but with several disturbing scenes that are borderline to being unhealthy. You need to be a fan of horror movies, derelict hospitals, sinister morgues and 19th C asylums to really appreciate this third installment....I do not fall into this category. Technically speaking, the game is brilliant. The intro and cutscenes are worthy of a professional movie, the voice-overs are flawless, the graphics perfect. This deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately: - I quit the demo after 31 mns due to the too many Morphing Objects Scenes I had to play. This is a new trend that consists in replacing the traditional HOS by one in which objects change shapes. I am not too keen on HO Scenes already, a MOS even less...in fact not at all. - I did not have a single chance to try one of the puzzles, so I cannot bear a judgement on the challenge level, but knowing the other MCF games, I take it it is quite high. - I feel frustrated because I will never get to play an adventure that could otherwise been a great experience had it been less shocking Perfect technique is not sufficient to take my fun up to high levels, and excessive horror brings it down to nil. And this deserves 1 star. Recommended to only a minority of players. Not recommended to younger players, hypersensitive persons and those who are horrified.... by horror. Note: Hannibal - the movie by Ridley Scott with Anthony Hopkins and Judie Foster December 22, 2011
has promise This will be the first MCF game I didn't buy and enjoy. I have all the rest and loved them. Great fun! I couldn't read the small red print on all the descriptions in the game. Everything is so dark that I was constantly squinting. I am very disappointed. December 21, 2011
Very Unsettling The subject matter of the game was most disturbing. I'm not a prude, but this game was just simply distasteful. I didn't finish it - it was aburden to play it. Not only was the subject matter in the poorest taste, but the game jumped around way too many places. I spent more time searching for the next piece to the puzzle than following the game. December 23, 2011
Don't fix what isn't broken The change to the hidden object is boring at best. Hard to find and hard to follow. What a disappointment. December 21, 2011
