Difficult and very creepy!
I had to consult the walkthroughs several times as the puzzles and gameplay were not intuitive and the hints were too vague to be helpful. Although some reviewers mentioned that this game was dark, I thought it was just creepy enough with a gross factor that added to the creepiness.

Something from a horror movie...
I thought this game was something like Emma's story Return to Ravenhearst...boy was I wrong. I mean...the introduction looked like something straight from the Saw movies and the kitchen noises!!!???.....I had to mute the sounds because it was very disturbing. I am not a big fan of this whole morphing but I guess that what makes it more challenging. Most of the puzzles were hard and I had to skip them. This was one game I had to play til the end.

Hard, weird but took the longest to finish
This is the hardest game I've played so far and took ages to finish, which I liked as sometimes the level is too easy or it's over quickly. However, the puzzles didn't give you any idea as to what you had to do and I don't mean a hint but just basic what the heck is the puzzle about - nothing at all, so made it very hard and I gave up on most of them.
The game play in parts, without the guide, I doubt you could ever figure it out by yourself eg what you are supposed to do with the dynamite... as if you can figure this out on your own. Some revolting elements from the juvenile developers at times in the game play but graphics great. Would have liked to have seen a map to jump to locations as well.
So very challenging and long playing which I liked but too hard at times and game is not for young ones. Be aware.

Not fun
If you play BF games to have fun, please skip this one; save your money. I wish I had!! I love the MCF games and have all of the Ravenhurst ones, but this one is terrible. The subject matter is unpleasant--if I want this kind of subject matter, I'll turn on the nightly news (which I don't for this very reason). The game play is so difficult, the puzzles so convoluted that even with the walkthrough, it's slow going. This game stresses you, not relaxes you. Please save your money and try something like Royal Trouble.

What a let down
I loved the other Ravenhearst games but was very disappointed with this one. The morphing objects are very hard to find - would rather have HO instead. The story was disturbing to say the least and became very complicated. MCF is one of my favorites but give this one a big miss!

I LOVED IT!!!!!
I THOUGHT THIS GAME WAS GREAT!! IVE ALSO PLAYED ALL THE MYSTERY CASE FILES! I THINK THE LAST 4 WERE ALL MY FAVORITE AND THE OLDER ONES WAS GETTING BORING. YES I ALSO THINK THEY COULD HAVE MIXED IT UP A TAD BIT WITH THE MORPHING OBJECTS AND THE HIDDEN, BUT SHOULD A COULD A WOULD A. AND AS FOR THE GRAPHICS THIS IS MYSTERY CASE FILES AND THEY DO WARN YOU. I KNOW THIS THOUGH IM DEFINITLY LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT THE NEXT ONE WILL BRING.

not up to their usual standards
this is one of the poorest games i have played. no hint in game, just morphing no true hog, no map. have loved the other in the mcf series, but last one and this have been going down hill.

A glorious Gothic chiller!
Just finished this wonderful game, and enjoyed every moment of it: amazing graphics, a real scary atmosphere, quite grotesque in places, and challenging but not impossible puzzles - I only had to search the forum 4 times for clues to help me. The exploding characters were especially and gruesomely funny! It's a touch pricey, but well-worth it.

Escape left me wanting more ...
The Ravenhearst games have consistently been challenging and well-produced. While I didn't enjoy Escape as much as Return -- some puzzles and game play a little too complicated-- it still out-games the competition. Thanks Ravenhearst crew. Looking forward to the next one.
