BEST BIG FISH GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED I've been playing this game non-stop. Everything about it is perfect. I'm getting a little weepy knowing it's going to end soon. I've never replayed a game, but I can easily see replaying this one. Level of difficulty is just right, not so hard that you get frustrated, yet a nice challenge. Beautiful game, easy to navigate, ENDLESS areas to explore AND they keep changing, so you can't possibly get bored. Get this game, you will not regret it! December 26, 2011
House of 1000 Doors: Family Secret Collector's Edition Good enough to spend the extra money for the Collector's edition. Decent puzzles, HOS and objects from beyond. Storyline is good. December 22, 2011
A lot of icing but no cake.... Visually, sound-wise, and the way the mini games were incorporated into gameplay were excellent, yet it is not necessary for developers to bombard the overt evil at us. Developers would be wise to serve gamers spooky and chills without going overboard with the overt dark themes. There have been other games recently that were similar and better (ie. more frightening) simply because of the subtlety. ...mid to 3/4 of the way through, playing this actually got to be depressing and a chore. The one game you HAVE to try! To say the least, this game has everything that makes a game really, really fun! The graphics are sharp and colorful, with only a couple of dark spots where items were a little hard to see. The artwork is flawless. The music is appropriate and the ambiance is A-1. The environment sounds - the frogs and the rain and the wind - those kinds of sounds are spot-on as well, and they make a really good game, great. My favorite part? The map! It's one of those wonderful maps that show you where you need to go to find "active" areas, so you aren't wearing out your shoes while playing the game. The map shows you an active spot, you click on that spot, and you're whisked away to the very spot you need to be, and that's great for me, as I get turned around now and then. The length of play is great. Unless you do nothing but play this game all day and night, there should be at least a couple of evenings' play - I got about 9 hours or so, including the bonus game that is made available after finishing the main game. There are morphing objects to find, too! It's a game with tons of stuff to do that flows well and keeps you engaged right until the very end. If you need a game that's entertaining, a bit challenging, and fun to play, get this one! December 31, 2011
Long Game Play Stunning Graphics This is one of my all time favorite HO games. Just had to keep playing, as there was a new area around every corner! It really kept my interest. Progression was intuitive and I liked the puzzles! Beautiful scenes! December 27, 2011
Different Hidden Object Game I was getting tired of all the "dark" HO games. This one dealt with the occult but it was done in a more entertaining manner. Have played it several times since I purchased it. December 26, 2011
Entertaining and short! "House of a Thousand Doors" actually has about a dozen doors plus portals to an alternate reality/dimension/plane. The cut scenes are good, storyline fairly engaging, the artwork beautiful, overall length of playtime short. I often play a game again with younger players and am on the lookout for a good story as well as good HOG scenes. "House of a Thousand Doors" has both, just not enough of them. And I usually avoid CE's since they seldom pay for their extended price. I would highly recommend this game in a standard edition, not so much in a CE. If they come up with the follow-up, I'll be ready to try it. December 23, 2011
Buyer It's my fav kinda game just enough challenges will play later in expert mode. December 22, 2011
Great IHOG on the dark side This game was fantastic. Super graphics/artwork very clear. Loved the storyline and interesting characters. There is some occult for those who dont care for that. I really got my monies worth with this CE. The bonus game play for once was long enough. Cant wait for more games from this dev. hurry hurry lol. The SG and map were also very good. A good mix of mini games and some I thought were on the hard side but enough easy ones thrown in so it wasnt disappointing. This game is one of my favs!!! February 11, 2012
Can't wait for the sequel Loved this from beginning to end. Not too creepy, challenging but not frustrating. The graphics are wonderful as are the background music scores. I love the plot as well. I've bought over fifty games on this site and this is the first one that I looked for a sequel to. Engaging! January 27, 2012
