A Really Great HOG Should Be Playable By Everyone
The graphics look beautiful - albiet the dark, gloomy, scary atmohphere 99% of HOGS are offering these days. Apparently, that's the mandatory atmosphere. and this game delivers! The story line (something horrifying has happened and you are the detective trying to resolve the problem) is in compliance with the mandatory HOG story lines - so again, the game delivers. Unfortunately, what the game does not deliver is the ability for everyone to play. The font size chosen is totally restrictive for folks like me with challenged vision. I wanted to make sure it wasn't just me and my prejudiced point of view, so I asked my roommate who has 20/20 vision. He tried the game out for a few minutes and declared it undesirable because the font was just too small and he was already getting a headache from trying to read such small print.
The sad thing is - there is no reason why the font can't be large enough for folks like me to see it. Too bad, this is the kind of game I actually will spend money on.
Lately, there's been a lot of games with fonts so small they are not readable for folks like me - with challeneged eye site. I'm not blind, I'm just elderly and require glasses. .

Very Enjoyable Game
Good game. Although bring some news...again the same subject of so many others: ghosts, souls, ... even so, does not arrive to cause alarm or fright.
- Great graphics, very well done.
- Interesting story - especially the cutscene in the beginning. Long and entertaining, and the protagonist is very well drawn.
- HOS interactive - not difficult
- Morphing objects to find - not difficult too
- Challenging - but not much
- Hints and skip fill fast, even in expert mode
Despite having many things to find and use, a lot of HOS, several places to go, could be better if had more puzzles throughout the game.

Top notch
I agree with all the comments of great graphics, good story, not too macabre. It was very entertaining. I took my time to finish this game over a week to make it last. I'm confused about anyone saying the graphics being awful...compared to other games you purchase online, this was great....as well as the character voice, and ambient music (not annoying or distracting). (Grandma was a bit stuffy though...lol) So...all that good being said....I'll mention a few quirks or items that didn't add to the game. The "beyond" objects were *different* but served no purpose, ie, points or bonus game access. And maybe it was just me....but the strategy guide only has the gamer collecting "11 coins"....which I did. I'm surprised no one mentioned that it needed 12 COINS! Even the photo in the SG showed twelve empty slots ....and my game ended there. Nothing worked after that which was very end of the bonus game.. I was sure it was a glitch with my computer, but I went back and counted every coin to pick up....which still makes no sense that the SG only required 11. No arrows would turn and no button to "skip", no instructions, nada. Maybe one day I'll get around to playing it again....but there is little motivation thinking I won't see the end. Just glad I had the SG to read about it. Hope Tom and Anna are happy! lol.

entertaining and fun
This one was very well put together. It had a familiar theme.. help the ghosts so they can be at peace but u did it all within the portal of the house. Each door was a new room with a new storyline and a new ghost. One was a train, another a witch's cottage, another a burnt down home. While the subject matter was not new, this game was light enough to be fun and entertaning. Each area was very well drawn, lots of color with interesting puzzles and inventory items. Quite a few HO scenes also. The hint system was great. There was also a search for 35 morphing objects. 4.5 from me. really enjoyed this one.

Good One!
Enjoyed this game. A common remark in many reviews is that people are getting tired of HOS games that make you click back and forth between scenes. I agree with them 100%. This game groups the challenges into smaller areas (the doors). The HOS are a bit different - which was also nice. I'll definitely buy the next House of 1000 Doors when they finish it.

Hours of challenging entertaining play!
I spent every chance I good get over the days before and on Christmas Day sneaking away to get back to this game. Big Fish has brought us many wonderful games in the last number of months and this is one of them.
The game had all the ingredients that I enjoy in a "great" hidden object experience. I love roaming around finding and using objects, well done hidden object scenes, morphing objects, elevators, boats, intrigue, weirdness, good notebook, characters, music, sound and wonderful artwork.
The games hint system was useful. The game is playable without the SG. Most puzzles were challenging. I played in the expert mode. I am glad I did, as I said I love roaming.
Thanks to all who worked so hard to bring us this game, you did a bang up job.

Can you ever get enough HO games? Neither can I !!!!!
I just began my quest around 9pm. And so far I am VERY pleased with it. The graphics are excellent, the sound is amazing. And as always, I looove the HO games throughout. The puzzles seemed a tad easy but I did have to skip one or two. Now before everyone jumps my case for skipping (LOL), I will try them at least three times before I decide wether to skip or not.
So in a nut shell ( a chestnut roasting on an open fire) This game is smart visually, sound, challenging wise and has now kept me up until 3:45am.
Have fun, good luck and let the gaming begin!! :o)

Buy this for your Xmas present
I beta tested this & loved it so much that I have kept the Beta file and played it a few times, pining away for when the whole game would come out. My favorite games in my huge collection here are the Drawm games, Mystery Case Files: Madame Fate, Flux Family games, Puppet Show series, and this game falls right in there. This is a rare clever, beautiful game that doesn't insult your intelligence. Give yourself a treat!

GREAT & FUN HIDDEN OBJECT GAME - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I always read the Reviews and they are a tremendous help when I want to purchase a great game. I don't have a lot of "down" time and when I play a HOG I want to get my moneys worth. This is well worth the purchase and I loved every single minute of it. Exciting, wonderful graphics, enjoyable music and a "surprise" around every corner. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this game. Very hard to walk away from-yet enjoyable and a super stress reliever! Try it!!!
