Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Bane of the Family 4.3 5 52 52
Excellent game ! Entertaining, immersive and challenging... When the story starts, already holds you on the screen! This game very well drawn, perfecting in details (like a good movie), superior sound, great voice over and immersive storyline, will lead you to a very challenging world of interactive HOS and new enjoyable mini games. Werewolf stories are often repetitive and unattractive. In this the opposite is true! You feel inside the plot (or even part of the family), wanting help them. Outstanding atmosphere and gorgeous - or sometimes creepy - locations. Well...Only playing to understand and enjoy the quality of such game. Bravo ERS ! Highly recommend !! January 27, 2012
Good puzzles but frustrating HOS I had a some fun time, but really nothing special.. The good: Graphics are nice, I must say that locations were beautifully designed Voice overs are excellent as well as the sound in the background and music it self Story is nicely put together, you must find the way to break the curse and save one little girl form it There is a detailed journal Puzzles are fun, mainly easy but comparing to HOS I enjoyed playing them The bad: HOS are interactive but besides that everything else was bad, too dark scenes, blurry, some objects are just impossible to find Hint button recharges very slowly even in regular mode..so it?s frustrating especially if you are not able to find several objects in HOS No map March 7, 2013
Excellent, Excellent, Excellent I couldn't buy this game fast enough. It had everything the first Shadow Wolf had, which was a 5 star game, and more. The storyline was exciting and original. The graphics and soundtrack were top notch. The hidden object scenes were beautifully done. The mini puzzles were fun and challenging. This is a fast paced fun game. It doesn't get any better than this. January 27, 2012
Fun - but a little shorter than I expected. Overall, the game was enjoyable. I chose the most casual of the three options for game play. The graphics were lovely, as usual with this developer. Color, textures, and environment, along with sound effects were good. The music was typical for the game - I turned it down and didn't miss it at all. The story moved along well. Hidden object scenes were a bit cluttered, but not overly so and provided some interaction, some of which was quite clever. The hint system recharged quickly and was of little to no use outside of the hidden object scenes - one of those "nothing to do here" types. There was a journal for the detective's notes and for keeping pertinent information as you moved along. There was no map, but there was no need for one. The puzzles/mini-games were easier than I expected, and that is coming from someone who isn't very good at most puzzles. I was even able to solve a "hook up the pipes" puzzle on the first go. The puzzles/mini-games were fun, however, and two or three were quite innovative and were games/puzzles I hadn't seen before in a hidden object game. Some instructions weren't as clear as they could have been, but they allowed me to muddle through pretty well. Length of play, however, was a little disappointing. I finished the game in about three hours, having skipped only one puzzle. Oh - the puzzles are skippable for the most part and, where applicable, can be reset. The shortness of the game is my only negative comment. This isn't the typical "spooky" werewolf game and doesn't have that "dark" feel to it. All in all, an enjoyable evening's entertainment. Meh. This felt like a "phoning it in" effort from ERS. The same old formula, gee I need a puzzle piece I bet I'll find it in the next HO scene. It's so formulaic at this point that it's boring. If you're new to these games then this one will play very well, but if you're an old hand skip it - you've played it many times before. February 2, 2012
Excellent sequel to the first This review is based on the demo, but I will be purchasing. The graphics again are outstanding, bright and colorful as well as dreary and dark. The voice overs were very well done. I didn't really notice the music, so it must be ok. The storyline looked very promising and continues the werewolf theme of the first. There are 3 modes of play which is great. The HOs scenes are junkpiles with some interaction. They were also nice and clear. The puzzles were interesting, but the few I played with not overly challenging. There was a 4-way slider that I found unique, but could have been a little more difficult. I finished the demo in a little less than the hour so I would have to guess that this would be equal to my average playing time. Overall, an enjoyable game and I recommend it highly. January 30, 2012
Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Bane of the Family I previously played the CE edition trial of this game and am getting ready to do the trial of the SE. I enjoyed the first Shadow Wolf Mysteries and so far have found this one to be favorable as well. It's an ERS game - 3 modes of gameplay - voice overs - widescreen available - choice of custom or system cursor Overall I would have to say that it has too many HOS scenes and the gameplay itself was not extremely challenging but it was enjoyable. Not all games have to be super difficult to be fun. The SE will be a sure buy for me. Happy Gaming!!! January 27, 2012
Good as an SE Having just finished this game, I can say it was value for money as an SE. It was nowhere good enough to be a CE. Most of it was commonsense. The graphics fell down on the HOS otherwise they were quite good. Good story, I played the 1st Shadow Wolf & will look forward to continuing the story with the next one. The only complaint I have is that HOS items are not always named correctly & I end up looking for the wrong item. Thanks BF & Devs for the entertainment value. February 3, 2012
Pretty Good Game I would love to be able to give it 3 and half stars. It was very easy. HO scenes were easy and the puzzles were easy. The inventory items were really easy to figure out. However, I was in the mood for easy so I enjoyed the game very much. It was just really short but I would recommend it. January 30, 2012
If you want a quick game, here it is. I was so disappointed with this game! The graphics were great, but the challenge was minimal. There were a couple of puzzles that stumped me, but I flew through the rest of them. I thought it would be like the first Shadow Wolf game, but it wasn't nearly as challenging. I have to say I'm sorry I got it. January 28, 2012
