A historical mystery brought to life !
The mystery surrounding Harry Houdini's death and his relationship with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is well documented but little known to most people. I love this series for bringing real people from the past into a game. It is so well constructed that the history of the game is woven in with all of the standard HOG fun. My favortie part was the hunt for the code words. To have the music play the tune that Houdini made for his wife was priceless. Such a romatic and special touch. Who know that is pet name for his beloved wife was Rosabelle. Love this game developer. I hope they are on their next project now. I cannot wait.

Interesting story and great graphics
A nice addition to the Midnight Mysteries collection: this one features an investigation around the untimely death of Houdini. I enjoyed the story and found it easier to follow than some of the previous Midnight Mysteries. The graphics were beautiful and crisp, and HOS weren't overly challenging. Nice length, and the built in strategy guide is a nice surprise in a non-CE.
My only criticism would be that the puzzles were a bit too easy, and there might have been a tad too much repetition of some scenes. Give it a try! It's well worth it.

Haunted Houdini review
So far I am finding this to be very challenging! Its a great buy if you have coupon codes you need to use up. The story is interesting enough and just like previous games as far as ghost interactions. The scenes are darker than I would like but goes with "atmosphere" of game all around. A good mixture of puzzles and HOG's. There are clovers and ravens to look for and some achievements. All in all, not great but not awful and well worth the price.

Best game I've played in a long time
The graphics are truly excellent, the story engaging, the pace just right. There are so many mini games, which I love. I wish more games were like this one. It was like a thrilling book that I didn't want to put down. Good job!

Sorry But Not All That Great - More Like Annoying
This review is based on about 30 minutes in advance mode.
3 play modes: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore.
There is a journal however no map.
Inventory items which is at the bottom of the screen along with the goals. The items some of them to be used you have to "drag" them over to the little boxes down at the bottom to combine them.
HOS (hidden object scenes) are interactive.
For hints you collect Ravens. You can also click on an object to see its silhouette. The hint is also useful outside of the HOS.
You collect clovers to unlock unlimited HO.
There are mini games.
Integrated strategy guide.
No voice overs. You click on the ghost dialogue to move forward in the game.
There are achievements you can earn.
My overall impression of the game:
Well for starters the story just didn't grab me and have my attention. I just couldn't get into it to save myself. It just didn't flow really well or make much sense to me.
What I played of this not too much wandering around and the journal did keep things up to date.
Now the graphics I found to be very well done as they are crisp and nice looking. There's a delightful, foggy "ambiance" in some places, including HOS. It looks like real fog,
The HOS: I didn't have much trouble finding the items as I only used a few hints however I did check out the silhouette just to see what it was like and those are tiny. The hint is very slow on charging back up.
Mini games: I found to be very easy and repetitive. The skip on this is painfully slow as I was getting bored with these mini games.
What REALLY annoyed me about this game was the constant click, click, click on the ghost dialogue to move forward in the game and the click on the object and zooming towards you and then you have to click again to put it in the inventory.
Just way too much click, click, click and dragging things for me which was starting to flare up my RA (rheumatoid arthritis) so I had to cut this game off at 30 minutes. Way more than enough for me already.
Oh and the SG (strategy guide): Well I didn't need it but just checked out: I do not think the SG is very helpful . It does not follow along with where you are but it also doesn't just go back to the beginning either.
Sorry Big Fish but the best I can do with this game is 2 stars
Definitely give it a try to decide for yourself though as it looks like most people enjoyed this game however and I sure hope you do too but definitely not for me.

Awesome as usual!
Midnight Mysteries is one of my two favorite BFG game series (the other being Mystery Case Files). I was a bit apprehensive, since I had just been burned when by my beloved Azada completely disappointed me with their third installment.. but Haunted Houdini was a great followup to the previous Midnight Mysteries games.
While it wasn't my favorite of the series, I still loved this game. It was long enough, awards are back (which give the game replayability value), and the storyline is awesome as usual. I love games that delve into the macabre, so this series has always been a go-to for me. Graphics were on point, and there were no glitches or mistakes.
I definitely recommend Haunted Houdini and every single one of the other Midnight Mysteries games... so what are you waiting for? PLAY THEM! lol ;)

MORE THAN YOUR MONEY'S WORTH
I have alway's loved the "Midnight Mysteries Series" and this game did not disappoint me. I was blown away by the developers decision to include the SG at the SE price. I hope this becomes the wave of future games to make them deluxe. The length of the game is great, the mini-games were variable and challenging, the storyline interesting and the graphics right on spot for me. I thouroughly enjoyed playing this game and look forward to more "deluxe" versions in the future.

Not sure
I didn't love it. Only played the demo. I really don't like games where you have to combine objects to use. I would like them to automatically combine once they are found. instead of having to drag them over to some combining area with a plus between them.......................... Also, if I need to find 5 boards, I want them to tell me how many I need to find. Like 1 out of 5.. I just found the game irritating. Maybe, I just had a rough day. I think some people would love this game.. but, I am going to pass on this one.

Nice Surprise
This is a CE game in a regular game price! I was greatly surprised and enjoyed the game.
No map, but you don't need one.
A built in SG, something you don't find in regular price games.
You have to find ravens to earn hints, but they are easy to find and I ended up with about 30 I didn't use.
Story line is historical and interesting.
A very good game.

Good addition to the "Midnight Mysteries" series
I've always enjoyed all of the Midnight Mysteries games and I was pleased with this one as well. It may not be the greatest of games I've played but it is very well done with the graphics and little "surprises" here and there. I like that you can collect hints by collecting the ravens and that you also have to look for clovers to unlock another HO section. It's easy enough to play even on advanced.
