bummer there are so few games of interest for mac users, so i was really looking forward to this one... unfortunately, i have to agree with the previous reviews on all their points. even tbough i am a seasoned adventure player, i got stuck 30 minutes into the game...there is no walkthrough (that i could find)... i simply cannot recommend this game. even if it were free. Probably the worst game i've played here. I spent more time skipping awful dialogue scenes than actually playing the game. There is next to no soundtrack. The lighting on the game itself makes it near impossible to find certain things. Also, I beat the game in 35 minutes! January 30, 2012
An Invitation to Eyestrain The color palette is very limited--various shades of blue in one scene, various shades of brown or grey in the next. The heavy use of shadows makes it impossible to see the hidden objects unless you position your head or body a certain way. Fortunately, if you just randomly click on objects in the hidden object games, you'll get most of the objects--and the hint button will find the objects that, more likely than not, you've already clicked on to no avail. The art is...odd. The objects are drawn in a kind of shadowy photo-realism; the people, however, are portrayed as rough pencil sketches. The two styles don't mesh well. There are no voiceovers, sounds or music. There IS a lot of reading, which you have to do in order to discover what you need to do next. Unfortunately, the designers put the portions that you have to read in: a) light words on a dark background; b) tiny font; c) italicized font. It is virtually unreadable. I found the words blurring before my eyes. A game should not force me to squint and contort myself to read and see what's on the screen. The basic premise of the game is not bad--a spirit of a girl gets evicted from her body and has to find a way to return. Regrettably, the premise is not executed well. The game doesn't seem to know how to treat a disembodied spirit, so for most of the game, she is effectively corporeal, physically driving boats and cars. If she's a ghost, gameplay should treat her like a ghost, manipulating tools by telekinesis, teleporting to various locations and so on. If this had been done by a company that knows how to use beautiful, colorful, well-lit graphics with adjustable shading, as well as good voice acting, sound and music, and that understood how to treat supernatural creatures in a story, it could have been a gorgeous and impressive game. This, unfortunately, looks as if it was dashed off over the weekend. Games should be better than this. Most are. May 30, 2012
Poor game.. if you haven't yet tried it when it was first released back in Janurary, then today is your day ;-). The graphics are poor and the interface is worse. May 31, 2012
Whispers I do not like this game. I cannot even finish the demo. Graphics/sound/game play..everything about this game is totally boring. I like games that can capture my attention in the first few minutes...just like a good book. Don't waste your credits or money buying this game. January 30, 2012
God-awful Nothing about this game is/was relaxing. Very small type for list of items, WAY TOO MUCH narration that can not be skipped in full, and dark, murky graphics. Just not a very well executed game at all. January 31, 2012
Terrible game I thought this game was boring. The items to find were often mislabeled, the graphics were poor, and the constant interruption for narration was tedious. All in all, a terrible waste of time. February 5, 2012
Boring! Kept thinking it would be better but NOT! Way to much dialogue and having to hit SKIP and finished it less than an hour .... January 30, 2012
This is just an awful game. I didn't know how long I can keep playing this game. I was about to fall asleep and it's 6pm right now. This game almost put me to sleep. Horrible graphics. The only fun part was finding the playing cards. It was difficult finding the items in the HOS though like I was trying to find a horse and I couldn't find it anywhere, so I press the hint button and it's like... it doesn't even look like a horse at all.................... This game fails horribly. I only played the trial, good thing I didn't purchase this game. Although I was curious to know the ending, but the game itself for a trial was just too boring. Whispers UGH....I totally wasted my money. Simply....don't buy this one, it's a ton of dialogue, and extremely short game. June 15, 2012
