Runes of Avalon
Not Just Your Ordinary Match 3 Game
This is an amazing match 3 game like no other.
The goal of the game is to make matches of 3 or more colored runes. As you make matches, the runes' coordinating colored balls (at the top left of the game board) begin to fill. Make enough matches of each colored rune to fill those balls to complete the level. Sound easy enough? Not. The colored runes are scattered all over the game board making this a game of strategy as well as matching. Strategically place your runes (which come in a variety of groupings) so you can make as many substantial matches as possible before time runs out. Interspersed every few levels are various mini games which I found quite easy. As you level up, and play the mini games, you will earn bonuses
This is a fun, addicting and not relaxing game (for me anyway). It's not a purchase for me because I don't like strategy games. Although, I DO recommend and encourage everyone to give this one a try. The demo is a very quick hour and it's fREE to try out. If you haven't already played a game like this, who knows? You may have found a new genre to enjoy

The only reason I didn't give this game five stars was due to the lack of instructions. The game is kind of a cross between Match3 and MahJong. There's too much narrative/talking in the beginning, which probably keeps players from sticking with it to get to the game, but the graphics are beautiful, voiceovers are good, and the gameplay is challenging. However, if a player doesn't see the connection between the various elements on the screen, it just doesn't make sense! I played through a few levels but still wasn't sure why some sets of three (or more) would not "explode" and there was no explanation-- so I was frustrated and didn't buy the game. Good instructions would make this game a winner.
