Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse Collector's Edition 4.3 5 93 93
Witches' Legacy: The Charleston Curse Coll Ed Before I mention anything else about this game, it will be this. I am a huge animal lover. In Chapter 4 you enter the "witches den" and there are little dead animals hanging all over the room. It is so bad you are carrying a bottle of fly spray in your inventory to kill all the flys in there. A ritual book shows how a bat is cut open and how its blood is removed. MAJOR INAPPROPRIATE. Because a couple of chapters earlier I was making a potion for a sneezing doorknob. So if this game is designed for kids, that is just not cool, and completely NOT NEEDED. There are definate Pros and Cons to this game. I just completed the entire game including the bonus level. I was forced to replay from the start because of the chap 4 glitch where I took the paper before feeding the cat. I bought this collectors edition for the simple fact it is so rare to see them offer screen savers and this one has 3. They don't do all theat much #like the Reincarnations series but...#They don't fit. Most people have widescreen moniters now, so developers, should take note. THIS COLL ED OFFERS: 1.walkthrough guide 2. xtra gamplay #which by the way, is better than the game# and it was prettier than the rest of the game which took place in the house. 3. Wallpapers- 6 saveable wallpapers, that appear in your computers control panel with pictures, hopfully they won't dissapear when the game is unistalled, I have seen that happen before. 4. Music Soundtrack, 6 tracks you can listen to an not save #why?# 5. Concept art, some color, some blk & wht, 14 plates #which is also saveable, under my docs# Another con, The hidden object scenes, and this game in general, is hand drawn, so searching for items is really hard sometimes if your looking for an item that just isn't drawn to look like that item. I prefer the type of game like DIRE GROVE and MYSTERY CASE FILES Escape from Ravenhearst, where the items are computer generated and look like they should. The music was also annoying and you had to adjust it off after awhile. And the "imp"? Who else wishes we could have locked him up in the basement in the first 5 min. and never seen him again in the game, he was just stupid, with the horns, and they explain him in bonus, and its as dumb as you could ever imagine! PROS, I loved how they made the cut scenes with live characters, same as Mystery Case File 13skulls and newer. I I also loved how in one scene you would pick up a piece of paper with 1/2 a drawing. 2 scenes later you'd get the other 1/2, and when you'd put them together in your games diary, They would animate! So cute! All and all, I am happy with my 3 screen savers and the bonus was so pretty compared to the rest of the game, that those 2 things make buying the collectors worthwhile for me. HINT SYSTEM is perfect. It makes it so easy if your in a bind, and hint is right on the ball. HERE R SOME STATS, the second time around, I started taking notes.Took 2 hr 45min THE SECOND TIME to get to chap 4 cat feeding scene The first time longer because I didn't know my way around or where items were etc. Bonus took me about 1hr 25min. NO. OF HIDD OBJ SCENES....23 #8 in bonus# NO. of CUTSCENES and ANIMATIONS 15 #3 in bonus# Some are repeats. January 23, 2012
Great game but too many backtacking Another dark-themed game with the same old-style plot, it doesn't fascinate me that much. The graphics and live acting in the game are awesome, with great voice overs and music. Puzzles are also very nice so the HOG scenes. However, there're FAR too much backtracking in the game, a map would be useful, i get lost constantly don't know where to go next and it's so frustrating and confusing :( January 23, 2012
GREAT BUT CAN'T FINISH WITHOUT STARTING OVER Inventory items need to be used in a certain order, but the game allows other use, then prohibits letting you proceed. The result is that you need to start over and repeat hours of work, plus you need to know what order to use the items. That makes a great game into one not worth playing. Too bad, because this is / was a really fun game. January 24, 2012
The usual HOG -- NOT. Game starts out with the usual overused note that arrives and calls you off to begin your adventure. The genius of this game is while it starts out like so many other HOGs, after the first 20 minutes its feels completely different because they have added a few uncommon animations and eerie twists. Lots of object puzzles for those that appreciate them versus only running around looking for items in adventure games. My game of the year. March 1, 2012
Great game with a few scare factors I loved this game...it kept you twisting and turning but designed that you could figure it out if you tried> graphics were good and smooth and it had a cool story line. Definitely worth the time and money. February 11, 2012
Witches' legacy - fun... great game, good story with excellent graphics. game's for me might be a little longer, but the story is excellent. Mini-games are easy to play. I liked the characters in the game because they are real people, which is not often seen in games, and always cheer me, although there are only 3 live great game. February 5, 2012
Loved the little Imp! This was an adorable and fun game. It is a masterpiece! I can with all honesty tell you when I downloaded the game I thought this was a game I was not going to enjoy I was quickly proved wrong. The game captured me from the get go. Beautiful scenes topped with clever programming skills. The notes in the book were extremely good. The addition of finding pieces of drawings and then the merge to tell more of the story was a knock-out and you could go back and replay. A touch of genius. I played in Expert Mode. The Hint system came in handy when I was hopelessly lost in my travels. The puzzles were at the right difficulty level for me. The music added to the fun of the game. I did not have to use the Strategy Guide. Believe me I would in a heart beat if I felt the need. The length of the game was quite satisfactory. I would recommend this game as worth considering for an age group of 10 yrs and older. Truly entertaining. January 24, 2012
Fun HO game with an excellent story. I really enjoyed the story line and it keeps you wanting to go farther and farther to see what was going to happen next. As you go through the game, you pick up pieces of papers that Lynn was leaving behind for you. After you collect enough to complete each drawing (there were several drawings throughout the game), you?d click your journal and you?d see an animated sketch that the little girl left behind. It would always give you hints as to what happened and sometimes something you?d need to know as your progressed. Another thing I liked is your goal list, a list of what you need to do next. The soundtrack was decent and easy to listen to. The puzzles weren?t too hard or too easy that the game became boring. The CE features extra gameplay after completing the main game. The extended story continued your journey at the manor. After completing the game you also opened up concept art, wall papers and screen savers and soundtrack. January 21, 2012
Terrific Game!!!!! I have to say that I have not enjoyed a game as much as I have this one in quite some time. The graphics were amazing! The voices were realistic, as were the figures. The music was awesome. I especially liked that some of the hints in the notebook were interactive. There were no glitches or slow times at all. The bonus content was equally as impressive as the game itself. I would highly recommend this game to everyone! January 22, 2012
Best Game Ever!!! Got to share what a joy this game is! Absolute favourite so far, without doubt, and I've played hundreds of games!! Love the story from the moment i started the game, fantastic concept with the door knob with a cold! brilliant idea that one, give the developers a pay rise because they deserve it!...the HOS were a bonus with interactive play and i loved the video drawings too, it really is something different this game. Fantastic graphics, clear voices, challenging mini games but not frustrating. Really don't want to finish this game, just wonderfully developed and well written. 10/10 :-) February 27, 2012
