A Disappointment
This is typical of a lot of games where they start off really great and then mid-way they just get over-involved with a bunch of stuff that isn't needed. I liked the hidden object scenes where you have to use itinerary items to solve them. To me, the demo is misleading and I honestly would not have bought the game had I known where it was going after the demo.

Enjoyed this one
HOS a bit different with this one. Not all items can be found at first. Need to go out and complete other tasks and come back. I liked this variation. Some puzzles I could do, others I had to skip, but I have to be honest in saying I'm lousy at the puzzles, it's the HOS I like best. Enjoyed playing this one.
Can we have some hidden object games that are not so sinister, I'm finding the storylines a bit repetitive,

Really difficult game
I loved this game. It's complex and different from most of the other HOGs. Some of the scenes can't be completed until you get an object from some other scene and return to put the two objects together. Well drawn and acted. Loved the "shortcut" map you could use to navigate the world without having to run through those places you don't have to deal with at the moment.

Surface: Mystery of Another World
It was definitely worth every penny. The story line was good and the length of the game was better than some of the CE games. This game didn't need a bonus chapter...it was long enough. The HO games were just enough of a challenge and different in that you had to leave the game to find other objects to complete the HO game. Good creation. I would buy it again and kudos to the producers.

Disappointing...
This game has everything a good game should have. Its very long, great graphics and music, live actors, voice overs, beautiful hidden object scenes but the storyline is just so bad that I felt like this game was never going to end and it was sooo boring to me that it took me forever to play it. I wanted to at least finish it but it took me weeks because every time Id play a little, Id start falling asleep. Im not quite sure what was going on as the plot went into some crazy realm. Im all for long games when they are fun but this one dragged on and on and on. Elephant games are one of my favorite developers but this and Black Isle have been really disappointing. The graphics/animation are stellar but the game goes nowhere and becomes routinely boring. Like I kept doing the same things over and over again but with a different tool. Why couldn't I keep the same tool and use it more often? Who gets rid of a swiss army knife? If anything thats the tool Id keep with me at all times.
I don't know if its just me but games about saving the children are starting to get really boring to me. This kid could have stayed gone and Id been okay with it. The letters you read were also very confusing. All in all Im just so glad this game is over so I don't have to continue playing it. Yawn.

A bit disappointed overall
I bought the game after reading all the fab reviews but was a bit disappointed. I normally don't mind going backwards and forwards through scenes but this one had so much of it that it started to get annoying. Also if you don't play the game in one go, I found that I forgot where things were. The puzzles were challenging but not interesting, nor was the storyline. The HOS were however good, neither too easy nor too hard.
Lastly some of the inventory items and how you used them were rather baffling.....a feather to open a venus fly trap? Hmmm...maybe its just me!

One of the best
Probably the best game since escape from ravenhurst. Super story, not too much reading, good hog scenes, great graphics but best of all not too easy and long. Well done devs, you seem to have the balance of everything just right Loved it.

New Challanges
This game was long which is great. It had so many new HOS challenges it wasw a lot of fun. At first though I was confused(not hard to do) then once I figured out reasons for missing items, it was so different that I loved it. I kept thinking I was near the end when another door would appear. I would reccommend this game

One of the All-Time Best Hidden Object Games
Well, Elephant Games really outdid themselves this time. Following the example set by ERS and their new generation of hidden object games, Surface: Mystery of Another World is breathtaking in its scope, absorbing in its storyline, and first rate in its level design. The hidden object scenes are just enough not to overwhelm the rest of the game, and the new trick of needing an item from your inventory to "find" an object, but not having it at the time you first play the scene, adds another dimension to the game play. The mini-games are some of the most imaginative I've encountered and they are at just the right challenge level - some difficult but none impossible. The storyline keeps you involved all the way - to the point where I can forgive the fact that the character's voices were not always synchronized to the actor's lips. However, that's just a technical glitch that does nothing to reduce the enjoyment of playing this game.
