Disappointing Well I paid for this game and was really looking forward to playing it as I prefer the large file games to the hidden object ones. However it downloaded to my laptop (Vista) but would not play. I then tried to play it on Windows 7 but experienced the same problem with error codes. I contacted BFG interactive help and they went through the troubleshooting guide with me to no avail! I did get a refund and went on to get Dracula: Origins which was brilliant so all was not lost. We Love You Kate Walker!! This is my favorite Adventure Game of all time. Step into an imaginative world of awesome artwork and computer graphics. Syberia I & the sequel, Syberia II will make an Adventure Game Lover out of anyone!! Follow the walkthrough if you must, but do enjoy this gaming experience!! A "must-have" for Collectors!! Enjoy! -Mama Mia- June 8, 2012
Loved this game then and now! Another old classic adventure game but still a wonderful one. I bought this years ago when it was first released and have played it several times since. My kids (now in middle school and highschool) played it with me when they were little and now they are re-playing on their own. Graphics are great, voice acting is really good too. Very original story line. QUESTION: It says "trilogy" in the description....I thought there were only 2 Syberia games....did I miss something and if so please someone let me know! :-) February 28, 2012
An Intense, Unforgettable Adventure I will issue this warning up front: This game is not for everyone. Syberia is an intense, challenging adventure that requires a great deal of attention, patience, and mental effort. But for those willing to put in this effort, the rewards are immense. Indeed, it almost feels wrong calling Syberia an adventure -- it's more like an experience. You play as Kate Walker, an attorney from the US who goes to Valadilene, France, to orchestrate the sale of an automaton factory to a toy company. Of course, things don't go as planned, and Kate starts off on an epic adventure to find the missing and long-presumed dead Hans Voralberg so that the sale can proceed. Kate embarks upon this journey via train with her automaton helper, Oscar. The game is absolutely beautiful, and also completely immersive. Throughout the game, you get to experience not only the adventure, but also Kate's home and professional life by way of phone calls with her boyfriend, mother, and bosses. You really get to know Kate in a way that you almost never do in a casual game. I know that personally there were moments in both Syberia I and II where I was cheering for Kate in excitement and moments when I felt her frustration and sadness. The game is honestly just that good. Although I personally adore Syberia, I will admit that it is not for everyone. Before you download it, you need to understand that it is totally different from anything you've ever played. There are no hidden object scenes. There are no hints. There are no mini-games. The interface is clunky and there is no tutorial (although there are plenty of walkthroughs available). But if you're willing to put in the time and some effort, you will come away with an unforgettable experience like no other. February 28, 2012
Great story to play I have this whole game and have enjoyed every second of this game. Music, atmosphere, great storyline. I have also played Syberia 2. Both games were a joy. Hoping that one day the creaters of the game come up with something new. February 28, 2012
Syberia part 1 Do not bother with this if you want to fondly remember the beautiful original game. What were the game makers thinking.. They have taken an excellent game and cut it to shreds, leaving out what made the original game such a classic. The lovely water for example flowed like water in the first, here it is just static. The characters are now like cardboard cutouts and much cgi stuff has been cut out too. Part 1 plays like a demo, its very short. Very extremely dissapointing. Rated low simply due to not enjoying playing what should have been the whole game and not just a 'part' of it. May 1, 2012
Simply the Best As other reviewers have said, I played this game quite some time ago. I had never played a game like it, nor have I run across one like it since. They broke the mold on this game and also Syberia II. It is, and always will be, my all time favorite. The graphics are phenomenal, simply phenomenal. The storyline is full and rich, and complete. You WANT to finish this game. It pulls you in and wraps you up in the story, and you are compelled to see it through to the end. Yes, the game play can be ....let's say....engaging to the extreme at times, even that cannot begin to take away from the excellence of this game. All other developers: take note. This is how you make a fantastic game that LASTS. For those who may be easily frustrated by the different factors of this game - I beg you to please take your time with it, go slow, breathe easy, settle in and make your way through it. You will not regret it at all. You will not find a better game out here, there's just not one that can touch it. Not sure why this is in the hopper again, but it's good to see an old friend. Enjoy, everyone! February 28, 2012
Wondefully different! I have the original one which I found quite difficult being an older person. But the game is so enchanting, so well made and so engaging that I couldnt give up because I just fell in love with it - I recommend this game - like totally. February 28, 2012
Loved it until... I enjoyed the first part of this adventure game, with Walker's pleasant, intelligent personality and found the story line most interesting,. Later, as she met the robot, Oscar, on the train, suddenly her intelligence disappeared and her pleasant personality along with it, as she got impatient with a robot and expected him to have the emotions and thinking of a human being. Strike ONE! Then this Walker character used the Lord's name in vain in this impatience...Strike TWO! Then her boss used the Lord's name in vain in being angry at her (for doing her job?), which was absolutely unnecessary and ludicrous for the storyline. Strike THREE! It's amazing that Anna had faith in her sentiments about her brother, Hans, in hopes in her prayers to God that he would recover, and then the script of the story turns around and becomes blatantly irreverant. I refuse to play a game that insists on using the Lord's name in vain and wonder why they go to all the trouble of doing that. It's most offensive to me, a Christian and as a result, they have lost this sale. Too bad, because it started out as being upright and sound and even fun. I refuse to purchase such games that condone irreverance for our Lord. August 9, 2012
Too Short I didn't realize when purchasing it that the game would be so short. I'm glad I got a discount for creating an account, because if I had paid full price for this game, I would have been angry. May 27, 2012
