Spooky and fun This game reminded me a bit of another pc game, Blackstone Chronicles, only the setting is somewhat different. You are in a mansion trying to rescue someone with a demented psycho watching your every move. The voice overs are very good and fit what you would think they should sound like. The music is dramatic and somewhat spooky, very nice. Not a lot of hiddne object scenes, just here and there. The map is helpful, but it does not get you anywhere on its own. HINT: be careful when playing the rainbow puzzle with the little squares you have to move to the opposite side, the reset button is on the bottom, very close to where you have to click and I accidently clicked it when I was almost finished and had to start the puzzle over again. The mansion is quite large and there is much to do, the map is helpful there since it has symbols to tell you if there are still things to do in each area. The extra play in the c.e. shows a new location you get to play a little in, enough for you to want the next! All in all, I really enjoyed this game, and look forward to the next one. .......A p.s., since this game is pretty spooky and has several scary traps and embalmed bodies scattered throughout, I dont recommend it for children. Value for money game This CE HO seems longer than other recent games and is far better value for money. The graphics are very good in making you feel in a dangerous and depressing environment. I liked the mix of HO (especially with secondary actions) and mini games and found that with a little work, they were achievable. I would have liked some more wallpapers but that is minor. I think this is a very good game, a spooky story - will be interesting to see if there is any followup and how. The gameplay was nicely flowing except for the SG - I did not like the way it often took 2-3 times at access the guide. This game gives quite a few hours of enjoyment. December 26, 2011
Not for the Nervous I thought this game was excellent. Another psycho-thriller game with the ultimate psychopath. Graphics and all the rooms to explore kept it interesting if not a little confusing but with all the maps and journals, you won't get lost for long. The biggest drawback was Sam, the protagonist's coughing and breathing at times. He sounds like he smoked one too many cigarettes...cough ...cough ...cough. The story line went beyond the bizarre and as a gamer i am most interested in the integrity of the story line. It had it all and I jumped more than once. The acting was excellent if not a little overdone. This in really along the line of the movie "Saw..." Enjoy it...strange...but irresistible. December 26, 2011
Fantastic game I liked this game really, really much. Voice acting is excellent and so is all the rest. I enjoyed the demo and will buy this game for sure. December 25, 2011
Best Game I have ever played This is the best game I have ever played ( and I have played many) Buy a lot of games from Big Fish every month, Best Game Ever Played. End of. December 28, 2011
Brilliantly created villian! Very gripping story, crisp graphics and superb voiceovers througout the whole game. The HOG schenes are not very difficult and the spots of interest are without sparkles (when you choose the option). I am impressed! December 28, 2011
Brink of Consciousness: Dorian Gray Syndrome Collector's Edition I found this game to be one of the best i have played, it has many twist and turns and with the voice of the murderer talking to you along the way it makes you feel that you are really there. very good game. now going to try games made by the same people.... Oustanding! Awesome story, and worth the collectors edition price. The Bonus Chapter completes this story perfectly. Lots of little twists and turns, and great scenery. Truly worthy of "Collectors Edition" label. March 20, 2012
One of the best Adventure games I've played This is based on the demo, but I am definitely buying it as soon as I get paid! First off, I have to say how good it is to see a game with scenes that are dark, creepy, old and run-down--- but NOT filthy! Thank you! The graphics are crisp & well-done, voice-overs are well done, and there is a good variety of puzzles. Objects found in puzzles make sense, and can be used. This is a psychological thriller, and it's done very well. While the bad guy is said to be fixated on Dorian Gray, he demonstrates his fixation in a bizarre, frightening way. There is no gore, but there are plenty of macabre scenes. The hints are ok. The Guide is very helpful. And the map shows where you are, in reference to scenes that need further investigation.
