Loved it. I liked it so much that I was sad when the game was finished. Great graphics, storyline and challenges that really makes your brains work. May 14, 2012
LOVED IT!! Amazing detail and great fun. I played this game when it first came out by buying the disc and I was blown away by the beauty of this game. When it first starts out it is a little "cartoonish" and blurry but once you get into the Sphinx it is awesome. You must take careful notes or you will not know what to do. I purchased the "Book of the Dead" which gives you step by step directions because it is so difficult and you need the clues and hints to go on. It is well worth buying this game and it will take you days, if not weeks, to play. If you like intense/difficult/interesting game this is the one for you. I bought the Big Fish version but the machine I am on now will not handle it because of it's size. Check the game requirements first and if you can, download and play this game. It is AWESOME, really it is. You travel all over the Sphinx into all different areas and must find "keys" to go on. You go to different lands and solve mysteries there. I am telling you the truth, this game is great. Hope you try it and enjoy it as much as I did.Show less March 17, 2013
still the best! This was the very first game I played, and I've never found one to match it ... still the best! March 5, 2012
A true adventure game!!!! I bought this game several years back and loved it. I went to play it again awhile back and like so many games, it wouldn't play on the new computer. Now that I've found it on Big fish, I'll be playing it again; it's well worth the 6.99 they're asking. If you decide to try this game, keep in mind it's a true adventure game; there will be no sparkles, no hints and no HOS to give you what you need. There just aren't enough first person adventure games available anymore. While I enjoy the typical HOPA found on Big Fish; they just don't present the same challenge. I cut my gaming teeth on Myst; it'll be nice to challenge myself again. I will say, I'm a sucker for any game with great graphics and Big Fish has a lot of those. April 4, 2013
Excellent One of my all-time favourite games. December 9, 2011
Challenging with hours of game play, but frustrating and buggy We played this game right the way through and it took 30+ hours of play. There were things I loved about it and things that really frustrated me. Overall, a good way to waste some time but it didn't really deliver the way I expected it to. -The music is great, so are the sound effects, but some of the important audio is scratchy or drowned out. - It appears to have been condensed for online delivery, which may be why the graphics are pretty poor for a game of this type by today's standards. - A shoddy navigation system and the poor graphics make it infuriating to find your way around some of the many mazes in the game. You can't see where you're going and you'll tear your hair out. Needless time wasting. - The puzzles are challenging which kept me happy. Some puzzles have many steps to them and the solutions are (usually) logical but not always obvious. - The inventory system is of poor design. If you accidentally pick something up when you have something else in your hand, the object you were holding will *teleport back to wherever you picked it up from*. Take note of this and be very, very careful with your inventory unless you want to waste hours of play backtracking. It is FULL of BUGS! The inventory system (which is not great to start with) will stuff up and bring up a red X in a box, there'll also be ghost items which you've not yet come across - nothing fatal, but annoying and a bit of a spoiler. There are scripting errors that can end your game entirely. They're infrequent but they're there. Save frequently, for this and for the risk of sudden and unexpected death. Other pop-up error boxes can be bypassed but hint at a complete lack of beta testing. A misty box over many of the puzzles ruins the effect somewhat. Overall? This could have been an excellent game but shoddy graphics, bugs and a frustrating navigational system take the shine off it. Still very playable. April 15, 2014
