The Secret Order: New Horizon 4.1 5 80 80
Unique, but Rather Short I liked the different artistic style, as well as the unique storyline. I kept wanting the game to hold my attention more, though, and was rather surprised by the sudden ending. The puzzles were mostly easy, and it wasn't much of a challenge overall. However, I was happy to see such a different story -- more scifi than horror, and with a different type of character and interface. If you've been getting tired of the same ol' HOG/puzzle game, give this a try...just don't expect a huge amount of gameplay. March 11, 2012
Beautiful ... but flawed. The look and feel of this game is superb. I really enjoyed the parts I was able to finish. Unfortunately, I ran into playability issues that ruined it for me. First time through I got stuck in chapter 2 and couldn't proceed. I suspect I may not have done things in the proper/expected sequence. Re-started the game as a different player and made it all the way to the end of chapter 7 when I got stuck again. This time was a HOS that couldn't be completed. I checked the walk-through and knew what had to be done but the sequence couldn't be initiated. It appears I may be in the minority since most of the reviews are quite positive and, quite frankly, I would have given it 5 stars myself if I had been able to complete it. December 22, 2011
Guess I'm in the minority.... .....because I did not care for this game. I found that it did not flow smoothly and it wasn't clear where I was supposed to go next or what I was supposed to do. The scenes to me were boring, probably because you always seem to be in either a filthy alley or garage. The map feature is useless, and honestly, I'm in the middle of the game and still not totally clear on what it's about. I'm glad it wasn't offered as a CE because I might have wasted money on it. The way it is, I got it free with a punch card reward but still feel cheated. January 22, 2012
Teensy Tiny Hidden Objects Deserve Poor Rating First, I loved the idea of a sci-fi time travel game. Finally -- something different. And after reading many of the glowing reviews, I decided to download The Secret Order. This game could easily be a 5-Star game, and as I started playing it I thought it would be. However, there were two key points that quickly kicked it down to 1-Star. The fact that there were no voiceovers really hurt the entire feel of the game. There is great drama in the storyline, but it is lost due to the developer's unwillingness to spring for voice talent. Secondly, the hidden objects were just too ridiculously tiny. They weren't even drawn well. If there had been an option to zoom in on them, that would have been fine. But, after ten minutes of eyestrain, I called it quits. Not even as the Daily Deal would I buy this game. January 14, 2013
can't get away from the dreaded *sparkles*! so, we can change the level of brightness, but are STUCK with having *sparkles* in the game? i checked the options menu and was disappointed. i WILL NOT play a game where i cannot turn off the *sparkles*. devs, take note: many of us do NOT like to be led around by the nose. a very basic option is to turn off the *sparkles*! March 14, 2013
Just can't get past the sparkles I want so much to like this game, but the wonderful, gritty, modern-looking graphics are completely ruined by fairy sparkles. I simply cannot get past the first scene. It's too incongruous. March 12, 2012
Just couldn't finish. Lost interest. This has got to b one of the most boring games I've played. The sceens were dull. As I was playing my mind drifted off to "I need to do the dishes" then I forgot what I was doing n the game..I got to the elevator where u need the metal plate to fix the elevator. When I had went into the sewer to colect the ring it didn't give me the 3rd piece so I was stuck. Had no interest n researching so I deleted the game... January 17, 2013
not worth the time When hints dont work as they should, I always get the impression that the time spent on thinking about the "playability" of the game was the minimum required. so I wont spend MY time on this... December 26, 2011
Hated it. Graphics looked "old." Leaves you not knowing what to do. Hate it. March 12, 2012
Disappointing!! I found it too be very dark even when I increased the brightness from 1 to 3. The HO's are very small and very shaded. I did not want to waste my time when there are many great games out there. December 18, 2011
