A game that would have everything to be great, if ...
The Intro encourages ... is very well done - the murder of the famous Mr. Edwards.
You will help solve the crime, interrogating the suspects: his wife, his secretary, the butler, the housekeeper and the personal physician.
Gorgeous graphics, great sound and VO, excellent atmosphere, and a good development of an interesting story.
Good amount of HOS, mini games, several gorgeous locations and, in addition, you have to collect 20 jewelry and 17 fingerprints.
It has a map, and also a Case File: Suspects, Case Summary, Postmorten Report, Observations, and Tasks.
The problems are:
- Even in the hard mode (and selecting no tutorial), the magnifying glass appears in the right place, you just click and a banner pops up with any information or instructions! I wonder how it would be WITH tutorial ...
- HOS clear and good visibility, but too easy.
- Mostly mini games well know, some new, but not challenging, and some lock or do not work well.
-If you click hint button, a list of all tasks appears,... you choose one, and shows up a step by step all you have to do.
- All the time a banner displayed: NEW TASK ... and takes too long to disappear.
So many explanations and so much banners let the game slow. Pity ... if it was more challenging and had not so much pop up, could be an excellent HOPAG.

I Felt Like a Detective On The Case - Good Game
This review is for the whole game and playing in Expert Mode:
The story: You take on the role of a detective investigating the murder of a famous Mr. Edwards by interrogating the suspects: his wife, his secretary, the butler, the housekeeper and the personal physician.
2 play modes: Easy and Expert. Expert does bring up a magnify glass for areas of interest when you come across one of those spots with your mouse/cursor and only the HOS (hidden object scenes) sparkle.
There is Voice-Over.
There is a CASE FILE, which has tabs for Case Summary, Postmortem Reports, Observations, and Active Tasks, as well as a section for the Suspects.
There is a MAP, that shows where you are, but can't be used to travel back/forth locations.
At the bottom of the screen are 2 tabs: Inventory and Objectives.
HINT button refills within about a couple of minutes in Expert Mode and can also be used outside of the HOS. If you get stuck as it will list the task(s) and you select which one you need help with and it will list step by step what you have to do.
Mini games/Puzzles can be skipped which also takes about a couple of minutes in Expert mode.
You can collect 20 jewellery items. The 17 fingerprints you should collect as they are used later in the game.
My overall impression of the game:
Well for starters when I first saw this game listed and looked at the screen shots, I almost didn't download it but thought what the heck and decided to give it a whirl and so glad I did.
I really enjoyed the story and I felt like I was a detective on the case interrogating the suspects/gathering evidence and the voice overs well done.
I found this to be an "adventure" type game as there were quite a few locations to go to along with some HOS.
The graphics are really good as I located most of the items pretty easily however a few were really blended into the scene really good and some were really small so had to use a few hints which by the way the hint doesn't take you right to the item as it will bring up a box and show you where the item is in the scene and then you have to find it which I had no difficulty with that.
The puzzles while they were very easy I still found them fun.
As for the game length: Well usually it takes me longer than this for most games as this was just about 4 hours but definitely long enough for me and it kept me entertained which is most important so I definitely don't regret purchasing it.
Overall, I give this 4 stars as I knocked this down a star as I had to use the hint twice to help with a couple of different tasks cause I wasn't too sure where to go/do next however I thought it was a bit too helpful for expert mode as it should of given one clue at a time and have where you could select if you needed another clue instead of listing them all step by step. I also thought there could of been just a wee bit more twist and turns in regards to the "who done it."
Thanks though Big Fish and the developer for a pretty good game overall. I sure hope to see more games similar to this one. : )

Who Killed Mr. Edwards?
Get rid of the cobwebs and the dust and prepare to play this classic Who Done it game designed in the old-school way. Not a great game but decent enough to buy and spend a lazy Sunday afternoon solving a murder mystery. What immediately attracted me was the story. I love a classic murder mystery where I am a detective out to solve the murder of an inventor. I find myself inside his mansion and I have 5 suspects to question, many clues to pick up along the way, puzzles to solve, mini-games to play and finger prints and jewelry to collect. I have a great casefile with alot of information , a great hint system that offers your step by step tasks, a list of objectives and a map. The game offers two modes of play, voice-overs that lean toward corney and a blast to the past with very retro like animations. If you can get past the graphics, which despite being very dated, colors are crisp and bright, alot of HOS where items are cluttered and a map that does not take you from one place to another, it is a game that actually has alot of fun fctor to it. I enjoyed playing the demo and now am off to purchase the game to find out if the Butler did it...........

So much potential, so short of the mark.
This game had the chance to really deliver something different - a true detective experience for those folks who are bored of the usual HOGs. But unfortunately what we got was boring - too slow, too many words and pop ups and not enough twists and turns. The whole experience was nannying and annoying.
Not good! And I was looking forward to an afternoon of sleuthing - pah!!!

Mixed bag: excellent graphics but slow
The graphics are excellent in this game; the sound is good without constant annoying music but there is a serious lag between the spoken and printed dialogue. The character is long through speaking and the printed speech is still being displayed on the screen. There is no way to skip it, either.
There are lots of things to pick up (hand) and look at (magnifying glass). I play slowly so I don't get far fast but I found several different puzzles in my short travels.
There are bunches of places to hunt for clues (more than most). You dust and pick up fingerprints as you go and there are pieces of jewelry to pick up also.
The HO scenes are a little dark for me but the hint gives you the placement of an item so you can search in the right spot.
Very different. All in all a good game.

WhoDunnit!
I played the 60 min demo. I enjoyed what i played. Even all the Dialogue. It is a murder mystery. You need the dialogue as part of the info on who did it. Nice to have a list of objectives. As you have to move about a bit and keeps you on track. Has a map but doesn't let you jump from area to area so you do have to backtrack. Looking for fingerprints and missing jewelry also adds to the fun. The graphics are not to bad. The HO were clear and challenging enough. For experts maybe not. The puzzles i got to do were not to difficult though. It has me hooked now as I need to know who did it. Hope there is some length to this game. But i guess that is the gamble. I will use one of my credits for it.

HOS Happy! Fun Not!
This review is based on game play in hard mode.
Out of consideration for the talented folks who developed this game, it pains me not to be able to give a thumbs up.
The reviews had me set to absolutely love this game but unfortunately the tedium was almost immediate.
The M.O. was random schlepping from scene to scene and back again. --Not unlike a day at the mall shopping until you drop.
The gamer has the "bonus job" of locating items of jewelry and fingerprints in each scene. The way this was implemented made game play became formulaic -
1) Enter a scene,
2) play the HOS,
3) locate the fingerprint,
4) find the jewelry,
5) move on,
6) Not sure what to do next? Meander from room to room, find a random HOS that will yield some Gizmo for later use.
Map: There was a map but it did not allow movement from location to location so was of limited use.
Case File: A case file took the place of a journal. It's clear a lot of effort went in to putting it together but it was rarely of use. A couple of times I wound up writing things down that weren't captured anywhere else.
Strategy Guide/HINTS: The HINT system was very well put together and like a strategy guide. Very nicely done.
Mini-Games: These were the usual fair, few and far between, and shamelessly easy.
Storyline: The gamer is kept on a tight leash and herded in a single direction to close the case.
This one is just not my cup of tea.
Again, thanks to the developers for their hard work, but I cannot recommend this game.

Entwined: Strings of deception
I am fond of solving games that are realistic and have crime involved--Being able to analyze the game as I play and meeting the suspects and interviewing them is very keen.
I like REALISTIC games without Egypt involved and ghoulishness. Better entertainment than all the dark side that is being thrown our way. Thank-You -- at this time I am half way or a little less through the game.--So hoping it stays realistic.

Interesting Concept
While not being blown away by this game, it is one that I will get. The storyline is interesting, the graphics are good - if a little two-dimensional - and voiceovers well done. The HO scenes are clear, but some items are difficult to find due to the flatness of the graphics and the puzzles are a tad simplistic. OK for whiling away a dreary Sunday afternoon.

Too easy
I enjoyed the storyline with the detective and the search of the house. The visuals and music were good. I also liked the map, suspect list and additions to it, the examiners report and the way the hints were given. What I didn't like was the magnifying glass showing up before I even had gotten my cursor over to the area, and felt that it was giving me too much help and took some of the challenge out of the game. The hos items were almost too easy to find and the lock game seemed too "flimsy". The game is definitely for a beginner and would recommend it for that reason.
