Boring and Frustrating!!! Only played the demo for 30 minutes - that was enough. Storyline (about some mysterious lab) OK and graphics OK. No VO for the text - so a lot of clicking. Background music unobtrusive. HOS - cluttered ,18 items to find (has a scrolling list) - too much, some very small items and far too many in a row. No backout button/icon but you use a sparkle as an exit/entry point. The only mini-game I played was the pins in the slot game - after 20 goes I gave up. NO SKIP BUTTON. Very frustrating. Overall, a very boring HOG with the occasional frustrating mini-game. With the excellent quality of so many other HOGs this is definitely not one to get at any price. March 12, 2012
Don't bother ! Apart from the artwork which isn't too bad, I didn't find anything in this game that could fuel my interest. In fact I got so bored and frustrated after only a 20 mns of the demo that I exited without regret. The storyline didn't impress me at all and the seemingly never-ending succession of HO Scenes filled with useless items soon got to my nerves. The minigames are also perfectly lame, there is no voice-over only scripts, and the adventure side is virtually non-existant. This game should have been called "A Waste of Time". March 12, 2012
Let Me Out of Here! I expected so much more from this game based on preview graphics and the game description. For me, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Navigation through a game shouldn't be this difficult. One should be able to simply point and click to get from here to there. Yet in this game, you point, you click, then you get a little box with a right-pointing arrow that you point and click again to go forward. Awkward, slow, and time-wasting.. Within HOS, finding an object can be needlessly clumsy and difficult because the object is either too small, hidden in the dark, or just not identifiable though it's right in front of you. Ultimately, I was so frustrated and bored by the game that when I decided to quit, I couldn't quit quite fast enough. I had the feeling of "Let me out of here!" Definitely not a game for me, probably not for most of you. March 12, 2012
Just painful! This struck me as a very old-fashion type game with no voice-overs, cut-scenes, custom cursor, or animation. Two levels - beginner and pro. I played pro. The scenes were timed, and there was a click penalty. Lots of sparkles everywhere. About the only good thing i can say for the game is that it catered for wide screen. The hidden object games were junk pile. I forced myself to play the full hour in the hope that it would improve - which it didn't. And in that time I saw no real story or plot. March 12, 2012
Believe it or not, I bought it! I get the feeling that this game got lost in the old archives and somebody decided to brush away the cobwebs and dust, and put it out today. Although the game has many flaws, too many to list properly, something about it kept me playing the entire demo and I am deeply perplexed as to why I will be spending a credit on this game. Perhaps I am feeling a bit nostalgic or a bit masochistic or I have way to much time on my hands. Needless to say, the game does have some redeeming qualities and I think I will point them out. First the story caught my attention, I would like to find out what will happen between the Detective and Screenwriter who find themselves caught up in a murder that took place in another time. There is time travel folks and I have yet to discover how to travel. Secondly, there are two play options, and to my surprise, one of them involves being timed. Now that really takes me back to the old days. The game is basically a HOG with a bit of FROG and adventure thrown in. In pro mode, HOS are timed and that presented me with a challenge that I basically missed. Now for the less redemming features: graphics are way old school and dark. HOS are cluttered, dark and sometimes and causes a high degree of frustration and squinting. In one HOS, Some items were hidden under the item list and that made me cringe. The FROGs are just ridiculous, some impossible to find due to size and darkness of screen. No matter, I still managed to complete the within the time limit. The biggest flaw in this game is in moving about and doing the puzzles. I just cant explain it, too many sparkles and doors and...well you just have to play the demo to get my meaning. For example, during the demo, I accumulated several inventory items and had no idea as to how and where to use them. Hint system is just plain laughable and you are basically clueless as to where to go. That being said, there is a map that to my great surprise is interactive and tells you where you need to be and takes you there. I can go on about the quality of graphics, the brain numbing music that almost puts you into deep rem sleep, the no voice over and no journal. However the minigames that I ran across were old school but they did carry some degree of fun factor, I actually enjoyed them; (there was a match3 game!) So why am I buying this game? Because I actually started to enjoy myself, especially the timed HOS. There is also a score sheet that is clever and will offer replay value. My recommendation is try the demo. I believe this is the case where you will either hate it or like it. I recommend this game to game junkies like myself who missed the old HOG of the past. Cheers! March 12, 2012
Good - not great This game had so much potential but for me it fell short of its promise. On the plus side, it opened in widescreen and the graphics were good, if a little grainy. On the other hand there is ony one game mode and the tuition is very basic. You play as two characters which makes it a little more interesting, but this does mean that some HOs are repeated with different objects. The puzzles are varied but not too challenging. The music was pretty banal, and there are no voiceovers. I think if a little more thought and effort had gone into the development this could have been a great game. I will still buy it howeverr, just to see how the storyline pans out. March 12, 2012
Boring, boring, boring...... If you are a fan of games that really have no point, but lots of hos, then this game is for you. Most of the items are too easy to find, without the exception of 1 or 2 items that are too small or they fade into the background. But the main issue is that they game is just boring. I couldn't even get through the demo, it lost my interest in the first 7 minutes of gameplay. March 12, 2012
waist of time boring music, to much talk, bad drawings, no action - try before buy --! March 12, 2012
iceforfree * Mystery Agency: Visions of Time Mystery Agency: Visions of Time downloaded & tried 12/Mar/2012 20:51: Not friendly, or enjoyable play. Poor story telling, graphics, and penalty clicking screen a dumb joke. A very LAME GAME. Not worth any price! (guess not all can be up to your great standards) March 12, 2012
