A Gem Of A Game This game was unique, most pic-cross, mosaic games simply put an X on the tiles you determine aren't needed. With Gemsweeper you use a hammer to chisel away the entire stone which just leaves the tiles needed. I also loved the bright colored tiles they used to form a picture. The game progresses well from tutorial to hair pulling status and if you break a tile that wasn't supposed to be broken you get a time penalty. If you break a wrong tile with a gem behind it, you have to use one of your limited jars of magic glue to repair the gem. Good brain teaser, enjoy! January 25, 2014
So addictive I had to buy it This is a minesweeper-type of puzzle (AKA a picross), which have always confounded me because I couldn?t figure out the strategy. This, though, is a heck of a lot of fun, and previous experience with logic puzzles isn?t necessary, thanks to good game design. Be sure to choose the tutorial approach, which explains simple strategies for solving the puzzles, and spaces the instructions out one at a time so you don?t feel overwhelmed. (However, the instructions don?t explain the ?magic glue,? and there doesn?t seem to be a way to use it yourself. It seems to be a random event during game play.) A surprise in solving the puzzles is that you end up revealing pictures made out of colorful blocks, and the designs are pretty clever, considering they are made of blocks. This game is too mature for preschool, but excellent for everyone else. If you have a brain of a particular era, like mine, consider this game mental exercise, but a lot more fun. There is a timer in this game, but the fact that I don?t grumble about it as I usually do in game reviews, tells you just how much I enjoyed playing. The timer only ran out on me a couple of times in 6+ hours of playing, so I think you?ll be fine, too. TIP: In Options, click on using the right mouse button to destroy tiles. Otherwise, you have to shift between using a hand or a hammer during game play, which will slow you down, and the timer is running. July 26, 2013

Been waiting too long My absolute favorite game. Been waiting well over 2 years. Bring on number 2. November 29, 2012
Not as great as Arizona Rose, but still very fun I recently played Arizona Rose and Pirates' Riddles and it was a great game, so I wanted to play something similar. Gemsweeper is a picross game like Arizona Rose, which is great, but it doesn't have all the extras. Still, it's very fun to play. The art is well done, the music doesn't irritate you. It has special levels, which are a bit of a break between regular levels. The levels start small, 5x5 grids, but they get bigger and bigger, so if you want to get challenged, it's there for you :) August 1, 2012
Fun logic game! I really love games like this, and wish that Big Fish would put out more like it. This game has a ton of pictures to solve. But unlike the World Riddles series, which get progressively harder as you go along, these really don't. They do get larger, and having lots of colors in the pictures makes it a little challenging at first, but the puzzles have a lot of solid areas that are easy to figure out, so after you get the hang of how to play it, it's really more of a time killer than a real challenge. One thing that is unique to this game is the bonus rounds and arcade mode, where the rows and columns disappear when you solve them, and new ones take their place until you reach a certain level of gems.
