enjoyed this one... the dialogue was nicely done...graphics were great...game was enjoyable to me, but not challenging. mini-games were unique..some were easy and some were tricky...overall, the game is short and seemed like the ending was a bit rushed. not the best game out there, but if you enjoy the mechanically oriented games, this one will entertain you. length of game and level of challenge kept me from giving it more stars. Best value for money! I loved this game; not too hard and not too easy. Puzzles were manageable and scenes were somewhat challenging. This game really tested my memory too. There were a few occassions that I need walkthrough help, however. This game just kept going on and on and I loved that! I'm an avid Bigfish gamer and this game is over all the best value for the money. WTG! March 18, 2012
A good change from the typical HOG This is not the typical HOG with junk piles. You have to find objects in the scenes and combine them to get another object. There are 2 game modes. The sound is really good. There are not many dialogs or cut-scenes. The graphics are clear. The objects are easy to find. Among others, you have to find punch cards to access other locations. The puzzles are quite easy. There is a journal, summary of the story, and a task list. There is no map and a lot of to and fro, but with the help of the hint system, you can easily find your way. The game is not too short. Without skipping, it took me a bit more than 2 1/2 hours. All in all, a good break from the typical HOG! November 9, 2012
Fun gameplay, good storyline Not sure what you'd call this type of game; perhaps a bit like a FROG, except that instead of finding object fragments, you find the pictured items (which could be at a different angle and thus look different) in a list and when you get them all, you're rewarded with an inventory item. My favourite part of the game was the story. It was an interesting sci-fi cautionary tale with some depth to it and was told well. The Golem was quite menacing, and the ominous music theme whenever he appeared or was nearby contributed to the feeling of dread. The puzzles were pretty good, although nothing outstanding, and the difficulty was above average. There was quite a bit of backtracking as you run around using inventory items to complete other inventory items or to open paths to new locations. The hint system is very good though and will always lead you to where you need to take an action, so you won't really need to refer to the walkthrough. I enjoy this type of HOG a lot. Usually the graphics aren't that great, but they're actually quite good in this one and the animations and cut scenes are very good. The game was also satisfyingly long. July 15, 2012
Dr Frankenstein goes steam punk Cant believe i waited 'til now to try this game! So often lately i've found myself pining for "something different" in a game, & by jove, here i've found it! Much has already been said re music, art, storyline, etc, & at this late date i can only say if the report was good, i agree. It took me a while to warm up to this one; right off the bat i was wading in "what the heck?...". In short order, tho, i was into the story, the steam punk overtones, & really wanted to find out how this story ends. This is plenty different to satisfy a case of the same-old's, with some humor interjected that's lol worthy. If you haven't done so yet, give this a try. 5 stars for quality, art, story, voice, etc, & especially "la difference". Very cool game. May 6, 2012
More fun than I expected I generally demo this sort of game and save for when I need to waste some time but this one really had me interested. Hint system is very helpful, graphics are very nice and objects are well hidden often but not invisible or tiny. As for buying, I usually only buy games with lots of replayability, but I'm tempted with this one. Depends on game length. March 18, 2012
Neither fish, nor fowl, or good red herring! The graphics and sound quality are good, but everything else is just OK.The story does nothing for me you just chase the monster around-Ho Hum There is a great deal of finding this object in this scene to finish that object in that scene, without the story or anything being advanced. Lots of busy work without much logic. I am very glad I did not buy the extended edition. March 18, 2012
Return of Frankinstein Its the Frankinstein story except the monster is a metal robot. I personally like regular HOG not the one you have to find it and stick it in a circle. This game also has to much running in and out of scenes looking for the objects. I only played for about 20 minutes and was devastated. Not a good game for me. Good luck with this one fishies.... Great game, outstanding story line and plot This is one of the best games I have ever played, great story line and the plot twists and turns with excellent cut scenes and intrigue. A good variety of puzzles w/ very good HOS; also very good voice overs and acting. September 8, 2012
Fun Game I really like the fill in the circle with objects games so this one was right up my alley. Puzzles were fun and doable. Story was confusing but interesting. I just had a good time playing this one. August 9, 2012
