A SUPERB GAME!
This game was fantastic! The graphics, the adventure, the puzzles, the hidden object scenes, all were exceptional quality!
The length of the game was well worth the CE price! I really appreciated the "extras" with the re-playable mini games, and hidden object scenes. I am looking forward to the sequel!
Thank you Developers and Big Fish!!

good hidden object game but nothing new
as hidden object games go, this game is pretty good. The visual effects are good, the story line is good and the sound quality is... good. I cant say all this is fantastic because it has all been done before in many other hidden object games. the HO scenes are not very challenging, certain actions have to be performed in these to gain some objects. There are flashing hints in these which can be quite off putting and makes the HO scenes less linear. The puzzles are actually pretty easy as well. The 'bad guy' did not appear overly threatening and was pretty pointless with her empyt threats.
All in all, i would buy this game, but i would advise to wait for the normal version as it is nothing amazing

An excellent experience
Fun Factor
An immediately engaging game. The blend of puzzles, HOS, and exploration sets a modest pace. The story revelations are well executed and the atmosphere is consistently moody and fantastical. A one hour free demo will be enough for most mystery/HOS fans to get hooked.
Visual/Sound Quality
Beautiful visual artwork with some nice idle animations. The art style is very evocative of the fairy-tale adventure, and crisp enough to prevent too many HOS headaches. The few animations were simple and clean, without bogging down gameplay. No voice-over, but the musical score is marvelously moody, and makes a lovely background counterpoint to the gameplay.
Level of Challenge
A mix of puzzles, HOS, and scavenger hunting. The puzzles themselves aren?t terribly challenging, even at Expert, but make an entertaining obstacle. The HOS in particular were entertaining in that the same room would be used for multiple HOS searches, reducing the clutter each time. In addition some of the HOS items required a degree of interaction or deduction where you?d need to create the object from various other bits. Very engaging. The scavenger hunting was a typical mix of overt ?find x? and more deductive ?find the solution?. Like the puzzles, it was not especially challenging, but it kept the gameplay moving and provided reasons to shift back and forth between scenes.
Three gameplay modes to set the level of difficulty. A hint button is available (on a 1 minute timer) as well as a ?skip? button for stumped puzzles.
Storyline
A solid fairy-tale setting; an Ice Queen, a missing beau, a mysterious magical curse befalling an otherwise idyllic town. The accompanying music and visuals go a long way towards keeping a sense of mystery and suspense in the story; though it is not designed to be frightening it manages to keep an uneasy edge throughout play.

lots of reading and an easy game
I got tired of reading and the music was putting me to sleep. Not very hard game. There was lost of going from place to place to find things. The hint button was slow to charge but you did not need it much at all. Not worthy of a CE game.

Not worth the CE price..
BASED ON PLAYING THE WHOLE GAME.
This game was very well made and i enjoyed it, since I do love fairytale like stories.
PROS:
good graphics
storyline was intriguing
3 levels of difficulty
CONS:
very short by CE standards - i played on medium level (there are three) and I finished the main game in less that 3 hours. that is too short.. the bonus took me 50 mins. so in total i spent 14 bucks on 3 hrs of playing. not acceptable.. MY BIGGEST ISSUE.
no voiceover, and though i was imagining all the lines being spoken, i would have liked to hear the characters speak.
no map, only journal
i do not believe its worth the CE price, and i would suggest that you wait for the SE version, as you are not really missing anything. the ending on both the main game and the bonus are ambiguous.

Too hard to see. Too easy to play.
As my title says- I had a lot of trouble seeing the objects in the HOG parts. It was very dark and shadow-y. I set my computer for full brightness and that only helped a little.
FYI "lace" really means "laces"
I set the game to the expert level. This level only allows hints during the HO parts. The hint level also took longer to charge. I thought this would be a challenge this way. I was wrong.
The mini games gave directions and were relatively easy to complete. Typical games.
Your cursor changed when hovered over an item to pick up. Several times more than one item was found in the exact same location. Next to each other! If you still needed a part to complete a puzzle or item, it would tell you almost exactly what you needed. I did not see that as a challenge.
I was disappointed as it is the end of the month and I have one more game to buy. But I would not recommend paying anything other than 99c for this game (unless you like easier HOG and do not mind the blurry shadow-y parts)

My Kind of Game
I played 20 minutes of the demo and I'm buying it. This is the kind of HOG I enjoy. I like the story line, music and the graphics are great. Straightforward and not too much running around. Overall a great game!

Ice Rose
I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The HOS' were great, lots of different venues, one scene lead seemlessly into the next. The extended game was another thing I enjoyed. I don't usually buy CE's because I don't feel they are worth double the price, but didn't mind with this game. The strategy guide was very helpful, the graphics were great. I always read the reviews before buying, but then make up my own mind. We need more games in the "deluxe" mode" as in Haunted Houdini. You get a standard game for the CE price!

Fun quiet game
This is a good game and it's now on our buy list. However, not sure if will buy collector or standard edition.
There are volume controls for voice & music.
You can select full or wide screen and custom cursor.
Game modes of casual, advanced or expert.
The movie at the beginning was very good and brought you into the story right away.
There are no voice overs and there is a good amount of reading. The music and sound were not memorable.
The graphics are excellent and the hidden object scenes are not cluttered. They are interactive. The casual mode had sparkles to quick in the search, so the interactive parts were not hard at all.
The mini games encountered were not difficult.
There is a journal that shows how long you have played and recaps the story. You can also replay any movies from the story line.
The extras are your normal music, wallpapers, extra play, etc. There also shows to be extra puzzles and HOS.
Two ghosts were met and their "wishes" fulfilled in the time we played the demo. Am not sure if that's 2 chapters of 6 or if there is still a bit of time left in the game play.
All in all, it is a fun game, although not very challenging.
