My first review of "only okay" Overall my thoughts was this was only okay. I would buy this game but only if they are running a sale (less than bigfishgame member price). Reasons this game was only okay... (1) My computer disliked the graphics. Everytime that creepy robot appeared my computer stuttered. and by computer, I really mean the game. But I say computer because it is possible it was just me. (2) The game had so much potential. There were mini games and sparkles and a lot of back and forth collecting objects (A lot of reviewers do not like that aspect- but me- I love it!) I always select the harder method for these games, but I still felt there was either TOO much hand holding (hints charged too quickly, skips appeared too soon, the mini games took less insight and more random clicking to pass) or TOO little (I never use more than a couple of hints/skips for an entire game, I used more than a couple in this trial alone!) For me I used hints because I just did not see the item (record player under bird?) The good qualities about the game- The story line was good. I would have liked to find out what the rest of the story was through the curtains. I especially liked the HOG part because instead of images or words- it was a category you had to find. I have seen that in only one other HOG game. Overall- sure I recommend it- but I would not say for full/discounted price. I will be saving this one for a super coupon code. March 24, 2012
It's QUALITY, Not Quantity for this Game! **Review Based Upon Completion of Entire Game on SE** First a disclaimer: I have a ton of free games so I used one on this game, so it was theoretically free for me. I rarely leave reviews for a game, but I think you might miss this game because of other reviews or news that the game is a short game. (I finished it in one sitting in one night, started after the news at 6 p.m. and finished by the 10 p.m. news.) This is a little game, but it's a great little game. I am very critical of games - but I really liked this game. I found this game to be innovative and sharp. Everything is clean and precise, and I even enjoyed the HOGs, and I hate HOGs; I just tolerate them to get to the mini-games and other challenges. (Speaking of that, what happened to pure Adventure games? Couldn't maybe one game developer actually make a game without HOGs?) The HOGs were based upon categories - "Find Face and Head Objects," and no HOG has more than 12 items to find. They were really fun. The mini-games were quite challenging for such a short game. They really aren't for the weak of heart. Bring your brain for this one. I just wanted to leave a good review for this game. Just because it doesn't drag on forever doesn't mean it isn't a neat little game. It packs a punch for the few quality hours of excellent entertainment it will give you. I cannot speak on the CE version, because I resisted the temptation this time so I could burn some of these free games. But, I very enthusiastically recommend this game. Hope you enjoy it, too! Enjoyable game I enjoyed this game immensely although the puzzles were easy to solve and the actual game was a bit short. It needed in my opinion to be longer and have harder puzzles. The storyline was ok and there was a lot of backwards and forwards which some people might find annoying. The HO scenes were ok but as this is my favourite sort of game and I play them a lot I'm probably being a bit biased. March 27, 2012
Great game, way too short Based on demo only. I liked this game! I liked finding the hidden objects by some common quality rather than the normal list of nouns, I thought the steampunk atmosphere was cute, and the puzzles interesting and challenging without being needlessly obscure. However, I got to the end of the demo in 24 minutes. Checked the walkthrough and I was a little over 1/4 done. I generally avoid any game that short; it's just not worth it to me. But I feel like I should reward the developers for doing good work, even if they didn't stick it out for a "full-length" game. Positive reinforcement, voting with my wallet, etc. Not sure if I'm going to buy it, but I definitely would recommend trying it. You might find it just right. :) March 24, 2012
Loved it!! I have just finished this lovely game & enjoyed it very much. The graphics were fantastic & the storyline was clever. Not a hard game so don't think it was worth CE but as I got it with a pcc, what more is there to say. Loved the voice, puzzles & hos were on the easy side but I did enjoy having an entertaining game for a change. Didn't expect the ending as it was. But great game if you want a fun few hours. Yes, it did take me longer than someothers have said. Thank you Devs. & BF. March 31, 2012
Enjoyed This One I found this game to be worthy of 5 stars in all categories. I rarely give 5 stars but this one kept me playing until I almost couldn't see the screen. -HO's are so different. I don't like HO's but these were interesting -Hint system is good. Takes a little longer to recharge -Journal is good, but not necessary -Mini games were just right for me. I'm not real good at them but I'd say I finished 90% of them. -Music is okay. It isn't annoying. -Story is like most IHOG but kept my interest I think this is a well done game. March 27, 2012
Fantastic game, too! This game is great fun, excellent graphics, storyline, and keeps you curious. Very original plot. The hog scenes don't take place in darkened areas.. No squinting, no headaches! Can't wait for more like this!. March 25, 2012
Childish but good Have waited for this game since the CE came out, looked a promising game. I am disappointed that it is rather childish and not much challange in it at all. Visual and Sound is excellent, good voice over. Storyline ok but predictable. I have played the full hour demo slowly and clicked on everything, knowing that some trial games don't go the full hour, but still it was too easy. I still finished the demo 2 minutes before the hour was up. There was no anticipation or thinking in this game for seasoned adventurers. Game play was different, no HOG lists just collect 12 of whatever, which were easy to find. As for buying this game.... only as a Daily Deal. Recommended for family or children. March 23, 2012
Beautiful game This is one of the prettiest games I've played in a long time. It The graphics alone make this a buy for me. It compares quite favorably with Flux Family Secrets in that regard. The brightness and lack of clutter are a welcome change from many (if not most) games in this genre. OK, it's not hugely challenging but sometimes that's just what works for me. March 24, 2012
Fun for all Loved the complexity , yet ease of the game. Rather creative. Would suggest for the whole family March 27, 2012
