A little better than expected... but free trial was enough for me.
A paranormal adventure that mixes everything: a haunted city, a dead serial killer coming out of the coffin, a curse to be broken, tormented spirits wanting to rest,... and a kid who wants to catch the killer, but is chased by him.
Cartoon, good drawings, crisp, colorful. Average sound, and a funny character - the cute child who wants to be sheriff.
Easy HOS - (pile ok junk again) , and ridiculously easy and widely known mini games - rotate pieces, jigsaw...ahhh!
The only challenge of the game is to find out where to go - sometimes I was without direction. Has a journal, but no map... and hint only in HOS.

Save Deadwood From Blackjack - LOVED IT! This ROCKS!
This review is for the whole game and playing in Advance mode.
The story which has a "western theme" to it: You take on the role of a detective in the town of Deadwood that is being terrorized by a murderous outlaw Blackjack and you must end his evil curse.
*2 play modes: Casual and Advance.
*Advance mode only has sparkles for the HOS.
*Journal: Keeps track of story only.
*No map: Didn't deter me.
*Voice overs along with text on the screen.
*Graphics: The characters are cartoon/ghost drawn style.
*HOS: Quite a few of them. They're not interactive. Find by word list.
*Hint: Is only available in the HOS not to direct you on where to go/do next which takes about a couple of minutes for use.
*There are some puzzles which can be skipped and takes about a couple of minutes.
My overall impression of the game:
Well for this being a SE I thought the developer here did a fine job. It is so integrated. This is better than most CE games I've played. The graphics are fantastic along with the cartoon/ghost characters. The story is definitely enthralling. The voice overs are just perfect. And the town, well, it's just brilliant. This developer here completely captured the feel of a Wild West town, to a tee. Oh and the little boy Billy is so adorable wanting to be sheriff and take on Blackjack. I just felt like a detective on the case. This game really drew me in and right from the get go. The story also had some twist/turns. Couldn't wait to see what happened next.
The beginning of the game for me started off pretty easy but I'll admit as the game progressed I did get a little hung up on where to go and do next. As I mentioned the hint is not available for this but I did figure it out which didn't take long so it didn't bother me all that much that there wasn't a hint outside of the HOS.
I found this game to have a lot of traveling back/forth with quite a few locations to go to and lots to do. Sometimes inventory items are used pretty much right away and sometimes not.
The HOS I found there to be quite a few of these which I didn't mind. After all it is a HOG. Most pretty easy to locate. Only had to use hint on a few.
The puzzles were mostly click/drag, rotate, or swap pieces to form a picture which I don't much care for these kind of puzzles so I skipped those as I'm sorry but find these tedious in any game. There's also jig saw puzzles which I did those along with a few others.
As for game length: Obviously varies from game player to game player but for me was about 5 hours which I found to be long enough and sure entertained me. I bought this immediately after the demo. Would of bought it sooner but too involved in the game. I also did not stop playing this until the end.
Overall, this is a 5 star game for me even though I didn't much care for the puzzles but they can be skipped thank goodness so no need for me to bring down the rating over puzzles cause the game overall I found to be just fantastic.
So at least play the demo and decide for yourself.
Thanks Big Fish and developer for an excellent game. I absolutely loved it. This ROCKS! I sure hope to see more from this developer. : )

Easy & Entertaining
GAME COMPLETED TWICE
This is one of the easier HOPAs I have played, and would have been even easier, if it had had a hint button outside the HOs and/or a walkthrough. Nevertheless, I stuck it out and finished the game without help, which was very satisfying.
Set in the Wild Wild West, this game?s atmosphere is very creepy to match its ghostly story. A hint button that is a vulture ought to give you an idea of the style of this one.
The music and background noises were particularly ominous, although they sounded like they?d work better in a sci-fi environment.
The graphics are of that rarer cartoon style, except more subtlety is used. And a little glarey. But the objects are easily seen. No interaction unfortunately.
This game is fun to play but it is never going to make anyone?s top ten list. It?s an average game, very relaxing when you don?t feel like going into battle.

Value for money and good honest fun!
Although I agree with some of the reviewers about the originality of the story and gameplay, I still found this game to be an outstanding example of it's genre. The storyline is well done and the graphics are very well rendered. The music or background noise is inoffensive and sits well with the theme of the game. The puzzles are easy and the objects aren't hard to find and although there is no hint button for what to do next, you can work it out with a little effort and revisiting of scenes. I bought this one and am still playing after 4 hours even though I haven't got stuck for too long anywhere yet. Sometimes it's nice to play a game and just enjoy doing it without taxing your brain too much.

Deadwood--The Perfect Name
The big problem with this game is the hint button. Unless you're playing a HOG, there isn't one. There are few areas that you can enter and even fewer that need objects. Once you walk by the sheriff's office, the undertaker's and the bell tower for the umpteenth time with tons of objects but none of the ones that you need and no idea where to use the objects you have or find the ones that the areas demand...well, the lack of a hint button gets old REALLY fast.
Aside from that, the game suffers from being monochrome. Virtually all the exteriors of Deadwood are a bluish-black, and I didn't see any way to brighten them. This, for me, was another strike against the game; I don't enjoy games where I can't see what's going on. Something that causes eyestrain isn't fun.
The plot is pretty standard--stopping an evil ghost. I would have liked it better if the ghost of Blackjack had not looked like an inkblot, which he does in all but the cut scenes. This particular character design made it virtually impossible for me to distinguish him from the background and from the building exteriors.
I heartily wish that the game's graphics had been clearer and that the hint button had existed full-time. The game could have been, if not great, at least okay. I'm very sorry to say that it wasn't.

Better than a lot of games, but still did not live up to it's potential
I give this game 3 stars only because I thought the voice acting was better than average. I really want to give it 2 1/2.
Finished demo in 49 minutes. The story line is somewhat intriguing. I will buy this someday when it goes on sale - because of the storyline. That being said: It is still the same old tired ghost-related schtick, but being set in an old west town was at least different and I thought that setting offered some potential. I think they wasted a good opportunity. Demo it and see if you don't agree.
I was pretty disappointed in the HOS, as the dev's did not even attempt to limit items to the time period. Not. At. All. Yes, there are items from "the old west", but there are also LOTS of items that are 20th and 21st century.
I thought it was pretty easy. During the demo, I did not have to struggle or exercise the gray cells much at all.
Casual and Advanced mode.
Zeroed out the music volume, so I can't say how good or bad it is.
I opted for the system cursor and was becoming more and more frustrated because you had no "out" from one scene to the next. I had to click all over the screen, as the cursor did not change to show me that I could back out to the previous scene.
I finally decided to try changing back to custom cursor and that fixed the problem. I would think that the cursor setup would have to be one of the simplest set of commands and certainly among the most basic - to every point and click game.
I guess I was left with the impression that the game was created half-heartedly.
As I said, the voice overs were well done. The graphics are good. Not stellar, but good.
But the cursor problem and the plethora of modern items in junkpiles in an old west town left me feeling disappointed.
I am not sure the story will really develop as the game progresses and I'm not going to spend any credits to find out.

Love it!
Not sure why it is not getting higher reviews. I just finished the demo and purchased the game.
The puzzles are challenging but do-able and fun.
The HOS are just right, not too hard not too easy.
The graphics are good although they probably could have been a little more gritty considering it is the old west.
Follows well.

Another Brilliant Ghost Story Game
Congratulations another great game. The story grabs you from the start.
Original storyline & mini games.
Visual is nice & crisp. Music is bearable.
Great voice over.
HOGs plentiful but not too easy.
Mini games are a bit easy. (but I have only played the Demo).
What else can I say about this game.... I have played the Demo in Advanced mode and up to now everything about this game is great, it keeps you alert and wanting to know what is around the next corner.
The storyline is for you to help friendly ghosts to rid their town from Blackjack the killer ghost who is cursed and cannot find peace until all the inhabitants of Deadwood are dead.
Will I recommend this game.... Yes definately and will be my next buy.

Death at the OK Corral. And I mean, just OK...
A western themed HidObj game with a villian named Blackjack who is terrorizing/killing the inhabitants of a small town, from beyond the grave.
The graphics are clean & crisp. The voiceovers are very well done, music is unobtrusive, and the gameplay smooth. The puzzles I came across were very easy and there wasn't much of a challenge, thinking-wise.
This would be an okay game for a novice to intermediate HidObj player, but the experienced/expert player will likely not find much of a challenge.
Additionally, this is NOT a progressive HidObj scene game. Early on in the game, you have to give a cane to a character, found in a HidObj scene. Quickly afterwards, when you search the same scene, the same cane is there. To me, that is lazy game logic, and a major turnoff for me. Meaning, no buy. Others may not find this to be a major issue and like the game regardless. To me though, it hurts the overall experience and simply makes the game okay.

Lovely graphics but little challenge
Ghosts in a western themed game that has very nice crisp and clear graphics. You can picture yourself in the scene. The HOS have a lot of items in them and are nice to look at with the objects being easy to find.
The storyline is simple, nothing new here and the voice-overs are quite good and fit the theme, characters and environment. The custon cursor is fairly large which may be off-putting to some.
The hint system re-charges quickly but is only available in the HOS. The puzzles are nothing new but you are able to skip them.
The HOS and puzzles are very easy which will give little challenge for those expecting more.
There is a journal but no map, which does not affect movement through the scenes.
The gameplay is smooth and it is a nice game which will no doubt be finished easily. If you are looking for good graphics and easy play, then this game will interest you.
