Graphics are so Poorly Drawn they Ruin the Game
I really enjoyed the first version of this game. It was fun to compete against those you went to high school with and you could decorate your home, pick out clothes in your choice of colors - just lots of variety. I found it entertaining and relaxing at the same time.
I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, but I absolutely LOVE picking out clothes for my character and getting to decorate where I live.
However, the glowing praise is about the first game only. I don't know what the makers were thinking when they ok'd the graphics for this game. The people are UGLY and so is your avatar. No matter what you pick, it's AWFUL. The graphics look like something some not particularly gifted child drew. I'm sorry to be so cruel but they were truly hideous.
The clothes were not great like the first game and the furnishings you got to pick from for your house were out of proportion to each other and didn't fit the room. Everything was too tiny.
I liked that I could run for office in this game and there were some good job choices, you got to make friends with the townspeople and more places to go and things to do but I just can't get past the graphics. Honestly....What WERE they thinking????
This is such a shame. I really looked forward to this new version of the game and it fell far short of my expectations. I still play the original version but most likely, won't be playing this one much, if at all, in the future.

Great sequel to Life Quest
I am a huge fan of Life Quest, and I keep an eye out for any game that uses the LQ engine. I am a fan of life simulation games, so my standards are pretty high for quality.
Life Quest 2 has all of the great features of its predecessors: a good balance between an open world and clear goals, a broad range of ways to play the game (which gives it replayability), and an almost unprecedented amount of customization for a non-AAA, 2D game. In addition, LQ2 comes with an improved goal progression system (where you can pick one of several available goals to go after), more options for interacting with townspeople (you in addition to dating/marriage/children, you can now meet people around town, make friends, and go places with them), and more things to do around town (like campaign to become mayor).
That said, even great games have room for improvement.
My biggest gripe with the LQ engine is that it lacks focus. While the in-game goals give you a clear way to progress in the game, the idea is to "have it all". There are no career tracks, only jobs (some of which link to others), which means that in order to get the highest paying jobs you have to consistently switch what kind of profession you're in. While this system is good for allowing player choice, it comes at the cost of depth, both in terms of a sense of immersion and of having meaningful, play-dependent storylines.
And, speaking of story, while the Life Quest 2 story is both interesting and well written, there simply wasn't enough story content, nor was any of it truly dependent on player choices. Since the Life Quest series is an open world, obviously it's a tricky balancing act between allowing a player to create their own storyline and providing them with one (especially because it may not match with the character they created in their mind). However, I believe that the balance could be maintained by the creation of a few storyline paths that come with their own character or characters to interact with based on that storyline. In essence, I'm suggesting using a simplified version of the Visual Novel storyline type.
Last and certainly least, a small comment on the clothing system. While the adding of a "type" to clothing and linking the "type" to a job was an interesting addition, I felt like the way it was implemented limited my wardrobe choices. Instead of having one piece of clothing linked to one "type", I think it would be better to have one piece of clothing have multiple "types" (so, say, a piece of clothing could be good for use as a business suit, power suit, or professor outfit, while another piece could be good for a professor outfit, student outfit, or casual wear, etc.). That way players could have a limited way to mix and match depending on their personal tastes, while still giving them an in-game reason to buy and change clothes. It would also be nice to have more clothes to choose from if at all possible.

Fun during finals
Taking finals, I just wanted something to relax and have fun to. This is it! Very enjoyable. Yes, it is easy game play, but the stories are humorous and the game is less linear than LifeQuest. There is more choice and more freedom in this game.
Also, the graphics are much improved. Highly recommend this. I am actually tempted to buy it and I have never bought a game before (trial junkie!)

Finally Bigfish replied to all the wishes of Life Quest Fans!
Eversince I have played the first game of Life Quest, I have been desperately waiting for its sequel! I think it took more than 3 years of patience and now we are rewarded with a much more exciting sequel!
Life quest 2 is way more hillarious, while at the same time the good thing about it is that it also offers a variety of careers.
But I am missing those kind of jobs that don't drain happiness...u know the kind of jobs that were in first game, like fashion designer, movie critic, etc.
But anyway! Though uncomparable to the first game, which was like, the best game i have ever played...and it still remains on top.....I am totally excited and very happy that Life Quest 2 is out! Otherwise I got totally bored playing the same game everyday, rather everytime...as if that was the only game i could play till death!
Hope Life Quest 2 arouses the same addiction like the first one, so am going back to playing!
Enjoy!

Loving it, but frustrating me :)
Ok, I am a fan of Life Quest. I discovered that little game probably 2 months ago, and have replayed it many times. The downside of that game is, I can usually win the game in about 2 hours.
Life Quest 2? I have spent about 6 hours playing it. Trying to beat it, and 2 times haven't been able to. Like others have stated, you have the same challenges/goals like Life Quest, but instead of having to go up against someone, you can choose not to.
You can also complete the "pie" wedges even if it's not the active one for you, and you get credit for it.
Overall, this is a fun game.....you can change things around each time, and have fun with it.

Not as good as the first one.
Life Quest 2 is a poor imitation of Life Quest One. Overall changes to the game have not enhanced it at all, and I was sorely disappointed. Save your money.

Started losing the fun feeling...
This game lost the fun factor... and became too much work and not enough fun. - disappointed liked the original better..

Just loved it!!
I loved the first one, and still play it, but the sequil is better, I get to direct my life, choose rivals or not, keep fit, educated, but didn't appreciate a lack of a 3$ salad, beans or stop your heart burger, if I wasn't young, would kill me!!! lol, the demo wasn't long enough, a friend in jail wasn't a friend, nice guy at the college though.
Would like to see a walkthrough, just to learn where everything is.

Lots to love in this game
I really like this one because you can play it many different ways. Maybe you want to be social and meet lots of characters. Maybe you want to have a dynamite career or have the nicest car and apartment in town. You decide. Good game.
