song of the phoenix sings bright If you have played any of the puppet master games then you will surely like playing this seek and find. The game has a good story line and it is kinda quick to play.(special note) I like any bad guy who uses a black panther for the animal you don't want to mess with....have fun April 12, 2012
Worth waiting for.... each game of ERS is breathtaking in his beauty music. and the story you just dive in a world of legend ... love it thank a million times i love you BFG April 12, 2012
Great Adventure/HO Game Really enjoyed this game. Have been getting very bored with the same ol', same ol' hidden object pile of junk routine. This was was really well done. Great graphics, fun storyline and a more novel approach to the hidden object scenes. Was a good length as well. The ERS Studio folks produce top class games and set the standard that others should try to achieve. April 13, 2012
A Challenging Masterpiece Even though I knew it would be a great game even before I saw 1 frame, I was pleasantly surprised by the hidden object twist they developed for this game. The game progression is fun, not too much walking around back and forth. The artwork is stunning, specially the animated scenes that are crisp and clean. All the puzzles I have done so far have been very challenging but not impossible to solve. I don't really pay a lot of attention to story lines in these games but this one is nice enough. Well worth the price of the Collector's Edition April 12, 2012
The ending Really enjoyed playing this game. The disappointment came at the end, with the oh so abrupt ending. Before the bonus play, the ending was abrupt, so I was not bothered too much, but at the end of the bonus play - whump done. I can't go back where it ended unless I start over. Did I miss something? Review for CE - no real extras (bonus review at bottom) Review on finished game on hardcore I'll put two disclaimers as I know a lot of people disagree with me and I know this affects my enjoyment factor - I don't really like the graphics but then I rarely do with ERS - it's just OK for me and storylines with fantastical plots aren't my favourite but the plot was done well if you like that sort of thing. Although I never understand some animals in it and what they have got to do with the story. PROS There were some nice interactions and a bit different and it was a good enough length - about 5 hrs main game and 1hr 15min for bonus. Puzzles although a lot the same types and wasn't enjoying a fair amount of them, they weren't all easy and there were some nice ones in there. HOS they tried to do different kinds CONS -I do wish they would do transporter maps because in places there was a fair bit of backtracking which is always a bit tedious for me. - I played hardcore, which is supposed to give you no black bar hints or sparkles and yet there are sparkles on the HOS. - Random click penalty on HOS - Have to play each HOS twice - Some items on HOS especially in the list type were a bit small and hard to make out but I always find this with ERS, I don't like their HOS at all because of the kind of graphics - A lot of puzzles were the same kind or variation of it -swap tiles around - A lot of interactions and some puzzles were in small boxes on scenes - All extras - music, concept art, wallpaper, screensaver locked until after you play the bonus HOS (hidden object scenes) repeat all of them (play them twice), random click penalty on mode I played, some hard to make out 8 find hidden runes in scene with brooch you move area 10 silhouette then use the item you found - in the scene to uncover next one 6 list - mild to normal interactive 22 puzzles - easy to medium hardness BONUS review Plot is tied up in main game and bonus is just side story. About 2/3rds is in new area which is good and I felt it was the same quality as in the main game. HOS 3 hidden rune type 2 list (play one twice) 2 silhoutte (play one twice) 6 puzzles I feel I'm generous giving this CE 3 stars as for me a CE has to have collectables or achievements which this doesn't have - only usual (SG, bonus chapter, wallpaper, concept art etc) which is why I don't recommend it but will recommend the SE. While it was a good enough bonus play just over an hour on it's own doesn't merit a recommendation. January 15, 2013
Fun Fantasy Adventure/HOG Game! This game was a great change of pace. I'm a big fan of all the "haunted house/horror" HOG games, but I'm also a big fantasy fan. Spirits of Mystery: Song of the Phoenix was great fun. You play a princess trying to save her beloved prince from an ancient evil and unite your two warring kingdoms. It's great fantasy and the graphics are wonderful. I love the facial movements when talking with other characters, and the voice acting talents were great. The voices matched the characters. There was a nice mix of puzzles and challenges, nothing too difficult. And the HOG scenes were done well. The additional steps to find certain objects were pretty reasonable, without being too far fetched. All in all, a fun HOG game with an enjoyable fantasy story. Also, I'd like to add that the bonus chapter was fun. Sometimes I get tired of the bonus chapter just being about how the villain manages to get away, thus prompting a sequel game. If it's a good game, I know a sequel is on it's way. Original story ideas are better and this bonus game doesn't have you pitted against the villain again. Instead, it's the final problem to solve and brings the story to a nice conclusion. I would enjoy another fantasy adventure in this kingdom in the future. Check it out, I'm sure you'll enjoy this game too! May 12, 2012
Bravo I usually never write reviews for games, and I don't get into the extreme technical areas, but I just had to write a review for this game for all the people that just want a basic review without the 5 page long detail. IT'S AWSESOME! My personal favorite next to the "Drawn" Series. I loved it. Half the HO scenes were interactive. When you did find a shadow item, you would have to figure out how to use it to get another item. I have to say, that was one of my favorite parts. The Graphics are beautiful, and the CE bonus game play was also worth it! DOWNLOAD! You won't be sorry!! May 11, 2012
Unique HO. Best in a long time! I NEVER write reveiws but I felt that I had to on this one because I read them before I buy a game and this one is a definite Must Buy. Graphics and scenery is wonderful. I felt like I was immersed in the surroundings. I usually like more of the adventure or puzzle aspect of these games and kind of dread the monotany of the hidden object scenes but these were so different and interactive that I actually looked forward to them..... Some were basic hidden object scenes. Not too hard & not too easy. Some had interactive areas where you had to do something or move something in the scene to find what you were looking for. Some had silouettes of the hidden objects and you had to find them in a certain order. For example...you may have to find a needle and thread to sew up a tapestry to raise it to find something else. There were even hidden object scenes that had mini games within the scene. I loved this game due to these variations. Length of the main game was a good, long story and many areas to visit and revisit. The only negative is the bonus play was kind of short compared to other collectors editions but was still worth it. Hints were useful and hint button would actually let you know if there was nothing to do in the area that you're in at the time which really helps when I got a little stuck so I didn't waste my time wandering around too much. Great game...well worth it!! May 7, 2012
