very silly This is a very differnt game , very silly but it made me laugh , nice graphics , n dialogue . If your lookin for something , thats not intense but , want something with humour n sillines , this is the one for you , I enjoyed it very much .. February 19, 2012
Not Again on time I gave it a very low rating because with only 10 min. of playing time in trial (got to the King) playing time did NOT give the player any real chance of giving story or game a good rating. If the playing time had been longer than maybe I might have given game a better rating. As for the length of playing time, it made me decide not to purchase the game as it would be a short one and a waste of money or credits. Sorry everyone. I am leaving the purchase option up to the individual player(s). February 20, 2012
Much needed originality & fun in game- but shame on developers for game length I gave 5 stars for the game play alone, because I would like to encourage other developers from making light, fun, whimsical games like this one. I think that the gameplay is in line with the fantastic & amazing Munchausen adventsures in the 1988 movie. I liked Munchausen's voiceover when using items (and wrongly using items), the morphing of buildings & scenery from one scene to the next, and the original puzzles. This is not a traditional HO. There are "association" puzzles where you match an item to something that is somehow associated with that object. There are also "motion" puzzles where you have to determine which items in your inventory to place where in order for a mouse-trap/domino type effect to create your end goal. It's original and fun! However, everyone's right... this game isn't just a little short, it's shamefully short! Come on, Joy Bits.... spend a little more money for more game time, and you'll find that more people will purchase your game and not just play the demo. If Joy Bits doesn't listen, I sure hope other developers do. Please please please... invest in more games like this one and not the same ol' dark-supernatural-ghost-save your sister/child-stuff that's been done to death. February 23, 2012
Seriously? It's over? Did anyone take longer than an hour to play this? I had fun with it but I couldn't believe it when it was suddenly over. When it said, "Are you ready go save another kingdom?" I thought it was going to continue but nope, that was it! :( February 20, 2012
The demo is too short! Nice start, but the demo was only 20 min long. That isn't long enough for me to get so hooked as to purchase the game. February 20, 2012
Demo is too short! This is an ok HOG game. I didn't find it very interesting, it was kind of fun but not that fun and when the demo ended after I got to a certain part in the game it didn't really upset me...Warning though..if you are good at HOGs you will probably finish this demo before 30 minutes has lapsed. Surprisingly Fantastic This game goes into my top 10 list. You will LOVE this game. The ONLY downfall to this game was it wasn't long enough. April 8, 2013
fun but short Different kind of HO game but ok. I thought it was more for the younger group. As everyone else says it is short. January 28, 2013
I think the "Surprise" in the title, is because it ends so quickly... A very short, fairytale, fantasy, adventure romp. Game wise, I was sucked in by the demo - for immediately setting the mood so quickly for a cosy adventure, and the first set of puzzles being intriguing and not what I expected. Look and feel: Fairy tale book type of artwork - completely suits the theme of the game. The Baron, I was pleased to find, did not disappoint this lady gamer; with his flair for the extravagant, in both commentary and ways out of tricky situations. The voices in general completely suited the game. Villains should indeed sound 'villainy' so we know they are baddies! Puzzles and play-ability: Thoroughly enjoyable and absorbing. - HOS that require association to objects in a side bar e.g. you have a lily pad, and you look in the picture to see what goes with that... A Frog! - Finding objects in the game scenery in general was well incorporated into the game. And I liked the fact you needed to scroll left and right sometimes to slightly change the viewing angle to see some objects better. I am soooo glad there was a hint button though! - Games where you figure out placement of objects you've collected; and applying them in a scene where "something" will play out. If your objects are in the right place, then, Hey presto! You escape out of a whale, or chase an Eagle off a GIANT coin! Woo! Duration: - I played for 3-4 hours. Which is not very long really. -It is a thoroughly enjoyable game, and at the end when it says "Do I want to save another Kingdom?" I thought "Yes! This is just one chapter of many..." and then wailed at the screen when I realized it was not. Please can you make such good games longer. Baron M - the adventure was too short, and you left me wanting more... But how can I not like a game, which has a place called "Cheese Island" in it! So, 3 happy stars! October 3, 2012
Sadness!!! I beta tested this game and LOVED it and then it took forever and a day to come out and I think it got rushed or something because its so SHORT! Id rather have a good short game over a long and drawn out boring one but for mac users, you always get the full hour demo not the sample like pc users and in the hour, I am in the last chapter about to beat the game! I LOVE this game though. Its humorous. I love the characters personality and antics. It reminds me of the game "The Fool" only more unique. I love the association hidden object scenes instead of the usual but due to the fact I basically finished the game in the hour period, I just can't purchase it even with a free game coupon. I mean I just played the entire game! So developers, if you release more of these, which I hope you will, please add more to it and at least make it 2 hours because Id buy a 2 hour game...please. Complete disappointment :( May 30, 2012
