Scarlett Frost, specialist in the dark arts, has been summoned to a luxurious and remote theatre in the snowy Italian Alps. Could it be that the infamous and diabolical Hapsburg Cube has been found and purchased by the sinister theatre proprietor, Dr. Corvis? The cube is said to imprison a powerful and ancient Babylonian demon that would wreak hellish destruction if the cube should break. In a moment of desperate confusion the cube breaks and the demon bursts forth into the souls of the Dr. Corvis and his young Daughter Bethany. The ancient theatre in the lonely winter mountains becomes an arena of spiritual war, between the darkest forces of the underworld and the cunning and esoteric mind of Scarlett Frost. But Scarlett soon finds out that the only way to fight a demon this powerful is to become possessed by one herself. Only then can she acquire a ticket to the Theatre of the Absurd.

Strange and bizzare This game is aptly titled - absurd. It is well-crafted in artwork and production, but I found it to be confusing and at times difficult to navigate - there isn't a map. The HOS objects are also at times difficult to find, but the hint button charges fast. The hints during the gameplay are good without directly stating what should be done. The puzzles are awful with some requiring one to find small circles of a graphic object - really bad! If this game ever becomes an SE, it might be worth considering, At the CE price, it is defintely a no buy. May 31, 2012
the Creep is in this game this has got to be the scariest, button pushing, creepy game i have played it moves slowly, is not hard and is not gory at all at least as far as the demo goes definitely waiting for later models May 23, 2012
didn't care for game I thought the game moved too slowly. I did not like the voice-over at all. Did not keep my interest, played for about 45 minutes, hoping it would get better. Not a buy for me. I was reading other reviews(for a different game) and someone had put this as their favorite so I thought I would try it. Definitely a no go. I did not like the HO scenes. I do not recommend. Theatre of the Absurd Collectors Edition This game was great at far as adults only as playing it but the grafics in this game as far as the hidden objects was not good as all you can not see anything to find it. but all the other parts of the game was very good. May 21, 2012
Enjoyed this game very much! I liked the human characters and thought that the demon was pretty scary-great graphics. Lately, a lot of the HO games I've played have the characters going from to scene to scene to scene to collect items and use them. Some of them have the player going back and forth so much that you can get confused as to where you need to go. This game is NOT like that. While you do have to change scenes to meet the goals, this game keeps the HO's to a specific area for each goal. I enjoyed the storyline and thought it had a good ending. May 21, 2012
Superb, Scary Game - A Must Buy I absolutely loved this game. It's scary, it's very different than the normal fare, quite long, with an unusual graphic style, spooky sound effects, awesome cut scenes and voice acting, and the storyline is wonderful. Gameplay isn't always as challenging as it could be as you are hand-held a little too much, and a couple of the HOGs are too dark and cluttered so finding some objects is difficult. However, other than these two minor annoyances, everything else is just brilliant. I love the occult though, so always buy these types of games, and Theatre of the Absurd is one of the best to come out all year so far. Very unusual game and, from me, a recommended must buy. Surprisingly good! At first this game doesn't seem very interesting, but as you play you get totally hooked. The voice over and soundtrack are very good and the storyline is amazing. My favorite detail is the arm of the main character ;) I wish the grafics were better, but otherwise this is a 5 star game. May 19, 2012
Interesting Game, Not too hard This game is fun and interesting overall. I picked this game because of the scary factor and it didn't disappoint...as there were some creepyiness in some of the scenes, music, and storyline. The puzzles in the game were fun, but not too hard. One puzzle I had never played in any other hidden object game which involved finding parts of a picture (kind of hard to explain, but you'll know what I mean when you play it). Also, the hidden objects are easy to click. I am looking forward to playing the unlocked bonus game. May 17, 2012
What just happened? The gameplay was good but I have no idea what happened in this story and the Bonus Chapter doesn't help clear anything up. I love the music notes durring the hidden object scenes when you click on something, nice touch. Next time just make sure you have a plot that makes sense and the game actually tells the story.
