Scarlett Frost, specialist in the dark arts, has been summoned to a luxurious and remote theatre in the snowy Italian Alps. Could it be that the infamous and diabolical Hapsburg Cube has been found and purchased by the sinister theatre proprietor, Dr. Corvis? The cube is said to imprison a powerful and ancient Babylonian demon that would wreak hellish destruction if the cube should break. In a moment of desperate confusion the cube breaks and the demon bursts forth into the souls of the Dr. Corvis and his young Daughter Bethany. The ancient theatre in the lonely winter mountains becomes an arena of spiritual war, between the darkest forces of the underworld and the cunning and esoteric mind of Scarlett Frost. But Scarlett soon finds out that the only way to fight a demon this powerful is to become possessed by one herself. Only then can she acquire a ticket to the Theatre of the Absurd.

Amazing game I loved this game, and wanted it to keep going, can not wait for the nest one, the visual/sound and quality was fab, and a very good storyline as well, would like to see more of this type of game May 3, 2012
More Like Disturbing- Hey Big Fish Cut This Off And Pull The Plug This review is for the demo playing in advance mode. Warning: Lots of demonic images references and disturbing images. Story: You take on the role of Scarlet Frost to outwit evil and save an innocent girl's soul. 7 chapters + bonus Strategy Guide: Follows you along and stays were you left it. 2 play modes - Casual/Advance. Journal which list the tasks that need completed. No map Hint/Skip - ready for use pretty quick. Voice overs HO scenes: I only did 4 scenes during the demo here which are by word list. 12 objects to find in each scene. They are not interactive. Puzzles: Find each circle within the scene, rotate the rings, swap the pieces. My overall impression of the game: Well I'm usually into the games that are on the dark side but this one was a bit disturbing even for me. Demonic references/images in games usually don't bother me but in my humble opinion this game was overkill. That little girl in the cage now granted she doesn't exactly look like Linda Blair from the Exorcist but for some reason made me think of her. She was a bit too creepy for me along with this Scarlet Frost lady. The story line itself didn't bother me but these demonic images/references just everywhere. OMG! Then we have these HO scenes which are downright dreadful as they have a constant flashing yellow light and also Sanford & Son junkyard piles and some items are very small. Then the hint which is a big ole circle - flashing light and would sometimes just about cover up the item to find. The hint is also used outside of HO scenes and while different as it's an arm that extends out with writing (tattoo style) I also found kinda creepy and I don't mean this in a good way. Puzzles: What I did during the demo time while they are far from my favorite I had no problem with them. Pretty easy in this game. I also usually like games with voice over but this Scarlet lady I found downright annoying as every time you examine something she always has to talk and it's usually the same thing over and over again. UGH! Sorry Big Fish and developer as I always try to give a game a fair chance but this far from WOWED me. This game is dreadful and disturbing in my humble opinion. The demo of this game was all I could cope and just barely. Way more than enough for me already! Those HO scenes gave me a headache and about nausea the yellow flashing light. So this definitely gets the 1 star: Stop madness, cut off and pull the plug on this already. As always definitely give it a whirl and decide for yourself. April 30, 2012
Theater of the Absurd What a fascinating game. A bit weird but nicely weird. Though the hidden object scenes were rather hard and with no help from the writer, who I might add should be taken into hand and told what the customers expect. He/She does not mark off all the hidden objects in the scene!!! Terrible trouble! But on the whole a thoroughly enjoyable game!! Keep up the good work. April 29, 2012
Led by the hand...literally Nice graphics and visuals but far too many cutscenes for me, you could skip some of them but not all and for the half an hour I was playing, at least ten minutes was unskippable cutscenes. You can choose from casual or advanced player and I chose casual for my trial. Big mistake, you are literally led by the hand and told what to do which takes all the fun out of it for me. The storyline failed to grab me (I got bored) and the puzzles were easy and boring. I could retry in advancedand see if this is an improvement but somehow I don't thinkI will, I have paint to watch drying. April 29, 2012
The game title says it all This really was a theatre of the absurd for me: I never could figure out exactly where I was or what I was seeing - and that's not just for the HOS. The repetitive narrator comments drove me batty, cut scenes an endurance feat, Hints were unhelpful (e.g., look on the carpet...what carpet, I don't see the carpet, show me!). Big ugh. April 29, 2012
Boring!!!! I didn't even finish the free play on this one. Every time you do anything there the voice over which is very agrivating. The HO's you can barely see what your looking for. Its very rare that i don't buy a Collectors Edition, but I will pass on this one. Do not recommend it. But still love Big Fish. April 29, 2012
Fantastic game! It's a great game! I hope it's going to be continued very soon! April 29, 2012
Fun game I have really enjoyed playing this game, my only criticism is that every-time I go out of the game I lose the game and have to re-download and re-install. Otherwise, enjoyed the game, as much as I have played anyway. May 3, 2012
Magic This game is magical. Not like fairies and unicorns are magic but like how alchemy and witches are magic. Visually this games is weird. In a way the graphics are superior to most and in a way inferior to most. It's like playing on a 64 bit console. Some of the animations are one-dimensional yet more detailed than usual. The soundtrack is fantastic with most rooms getting it's own music and style. This game is creepy. Some games think it's being creepy but this one really does deliver however it isn't frightening. This is a LONG game and you definitely get your money's worth. The opening sequence is awesome. You don't even realize it's the opening sequence until it smoothly segues to the title screen because they have you playing before the introductions even start. Presentation wise this is one of the best I've played. I really felt like this was more of a console game and less of a casual PC game. I can't explain really why this game is so good but play the demo and you'll see what I mean. It delivers to the very end of the game. The bonus material is fair. I don't want to give away the game mechanics here but in the bonus material something is really mad at you and you will get no help, no hints. Nothing. This is good for a challenge. It's a great game. I played it in one sitting and this is a long game... about 5 hours. May 16, 2012
Great graphics and love the macabre but.... I only played the trial and after reading to find out how the CE BONUS PLAY is through reading the reviews I'm getting the feeling there wasn't any and more of the bonus content and extra junk I don't care about. I want Excellent long bonus play or CE is not worth it. So even though I recommend this game without excellent bonus game play then I'm waiting SE. May 2, 2012
