Secrets of the Dark: Eclipse Mountain Collector's Edition 4.6 5 119 119
Really good game Having played the first game in this series and liked it, I was excited to see this one and bought it after playing the demo. The storyline is good if you like mystical adventures..which I do, and the rooms changing with different light is something I loved in the first game so pleased to see it here. The HOS were not too difficult and I liked the fact that some involved replacing objects as opposed to finding them. There also were not too many of them which I liked as I prefer the adventure bit of games. The puzzles were on the whole quite challenging and I did use the skip button a couple of times out of frustration..lol. The only reason I am giving it a 4 stars rather than 5 is because the bonus chapter was a bit repetitious. You end up going back to areas you have been before in the main game and doing some of the same puzzles, so this was a bit lacking in imagination for me. Overall though, great game and a good length, so would definitely recommend it. May 11, 2012
Didn't grip me I deliberately didn't rate on Fun Factor, because I just didn't have any fun doing the one hour trial. The graphics are ok, but nothing that really stunned me. The storyline is nothing extraordinary either: The ancient Demon of Darkness and his minions kidnap the friend of the hero in the jungle in Thailand, friend comes straight to his rescue and in the process has to find keys to open doors, missing pieces to solve puzzles, he has to find and/or fix tools to get other items he needs to solve other problems. It amazes me how ill equipped some people set off on a search and rescue operations. Had this guy here brought a Swiss Army Multitool he would had not only a knife, but also a saw, nail clipper and among an array of other useful tools probably even something to clean horses hooves with. The HOG scenes are dark but I haven't come anything that was so blended in or tiny that was undetectable without a hint. The puzzles I came across were ok, but can't be skipped if you choose the hardest of the three available game modes. Its an ok game, but really nothing I haven't yet played and for me certainly not worth spending the extra money for the CE. May 3, 2012
Great sequel to Temple of Night Another adventure with Peter, who seems to get himself into an awfully lot of trouble! Great storyline (this time is Thailand), excellent graphics. Good VOS. Very nice and clear HOS, most interactive. Some are put backs. Full screen, with lots and lots of puzzles (mostly hard, I thought). Nice length on bonus chapter-over 2 hours. Casual play time for me was 7.25 hours, including bonus. Game also has the same light changing scenerio which is pretty cool. Well worth the money, a really enjoyable game. June 18, 2012
Absolutely gorgeous game I hesitated at first to try this but once I played the demo I had to buy this game. Wonderful illustrated HOS, good minigames and captivating storyline. The special items that you have to take to the monks to convert into another item makes it even more interesting. The lighting effects totally change a room and items to find and once you change the lighting again, it all comes together. Bonus game was very well done. you have to rescue the monks. Well worth the CE price and very nice game length. Beautiful graphics, I absolutely recommend this game May 11, 2012
Loved it! Alot of other folks have already described the enjoyment this game has provided but I just want to add my great pleasure. I have about 600 games, many I haven't finished, but I've bought both Secrets of the Dark games and finished them in practically one setting because they were so well done and really fun! I hope we see more from this developer. I will likely buy anything they offer! May 6, 2012
Finally a CE worth the buy All i can say is, i've been a BF gamer for years and this is the first post i've taken the time to put up. I had to buy after the demo (couldn't stop); but OMG even when the primary play was done... the EXTRA game play was almost just as long as the regular game and just as challenging. I think that's what all CE should give to those consumers paying the extra price #literally the SAME price) of two games for one. May 21, 2012
Loved the Extas Not only was the game fun to play, but once you completed it you could go back and play a smaller version and the puzzles. May 21, 2012
Secrets of the Dark: Eclipse Mountain This is an awesome game, my favourite to date. Liked pretty much everything about it. LIKED: - Game length: It was just long enough to feel like you've got your money's worth, but not too long that you got bored - Special objects: The special objects that you had to collect and change into something else was great. Really original. - Changing rooms: Another fab original aspect was the changing of rooms when in the light or in the dark. Really cool! - Puzzles/H0 scenes: There were more puzzles than H0 scenes which I like because too many H0 scenes just bores me. Plus I like the added 'placing of objects in the scene' sometimes, rather than all H0 scenes. NOT LIKED: - Lag: There was only one thing that annoyed me and that was the slight lag in the mouse point; and by that I mean that when I moved the mouse point, sometimes it took a while to catch up and was very slow. But that's the only bad thing I found. Would totally recommend this game. May 13, 2012
Good Game But.. I downloaded the demo, I loved it right away I so I got the CE. The graphics are awesome, and the different additions of the game play were a refreshing change. The changing of the lighting, the statues changing items. However, saying that, towards the end all the back and forth was starting to get a bit annoying. Usually I don't mind to much backtracking, but it seemed towards the end, it was every thing you needed to do you had to go back three times, change the lighting etc. So I enjoyed most of the game until just the end when it became a bit tedious for me. All in all a very good game play and worth the CE price to me. May 8, 2012
Almost perfect game. If I were to give a review based solely on the demo, I'd say -a perfect CE. Since I've completed it, the entire felling deflated for just a bit. I still think it's great, but not perfect. The art in the game is very beautiful; I like turning the lights on and off...it really gives a whole new dimension to exploring the locations. On the other hand, developers chose to use the locations from the first chapter through entire game. That makes it a bit difficult to remember all the things left unfinished in various zoom zones. A map with some sort of indicator would give this game an extra star, and make it a complete win. Still, it was a good ride, and I'm happy that I've played it. June 9, 2012
