Very nice SE game that makes you think I bought this after trying it out. The demo is one that automatically stops at a certain point. Usually I don't like that, but in this game, I didn't feel cheated out of my hour. At first, I thought that the game did too much hand holding. Having bought the game and played for a bit, I realized that I was wrong. The hand-holding only happens during the hidden object scenes. They are interactive and you get sparkles to show you where the interactive objects are. But the game does not tell you where to use that interactive object. (i.e. - sparkes for a hammer, but you have to figure out where to use the hammer and etc.) It seems to me that the game gets a little more challenging as it goes along. More than once, I've said, "OK.....think!" Along that thought: The hints are actually hints. Some games tell you exactly what to do when you click the hint button. This game literally gives you a hint and you still have to think about what to do next. One thing that has made me smile: I have seen horse shoes in nearly every hidden object scene and not once !! have the lists included said horse shoe. Since we've all had to find horse shoes enough to shoe every horse that ever ran the Kentucky Derby, I was amused. It's as though the dev's said, "No, we're going to try to be a little different here." Kudos! The HOS use the entirety of the screen and some objects are well hidden. I didn't find anything spectacularly different about this game, but I think it is a very solid game. It will make you think, so if you are not in the mood for a challenge today, save it for another day, but don't let this one pass you by. 4 1/2 stars! May 5, 2012
Refreshing, New and Fun Bravo. Excellent game. Good graphics, excellent sound effects, music appropriate. No dark gloomy grave yards (although those are fun at times). Sceens are well lite and not depressing! The HOS are within an acceptable about (I don?t personally care too much for HO). HO are not junk pile, clear well defined, and well hidden at times. You do have sparkles, and the HO are interactive at times. There is a click penalty only if you go too fast, just keep a constant rhythm and you will be ok. There is only one play mode, no option of casual, adventure or hard core. Not too much to & fro, you get a map and a journal that records necessary information to keep you on track. There is a robot that is your hint button and assists you in other ways (won?t spoil it), he has a quirky sense of humor and on occasion chimes in with an opinion or two. Voice overs would have given this that extra touch that would have pushed it into the 6 star (?) category. This has a fresh feel to it. Developer Game Devo is located in Russia and this is their first game. Well done guys! Look forward to more of your games. Try the demo, I think you will like this one?it?s a nice change. May 5, 2012
Considering Purchase :D I didn't mind the demo of this game, graphics were good, no voice over so just the text for those that don't like reading. having to go back and forth between scenes picking things up from here to use there and vice versa, but I don't mind that at all. Music wasn't annoying, neither were normal sounds thoughout the game, but you do have the option of turning down the music or sounds. Puzzles I thought were quite tricky, If I were to purchase the game I would delete my saved game and start from the beginning as I skipped the games that took me a little while to solve, only due to the time limit of the demo, and attempt to do them without skipping. Little bit of hand holding if you choose so, although your "friend" the robot gives you tips i suppose you could say, not sure if he does when you choose the non-hand holding option. I am considering purchasing this, because the demo just ended and I was like NoOOooOOooOo!!! May 5, 2012
Looks like a very good SE, at last ! Played 35 minutes of the demo - 1 gameplay mode - Notebook - No voiceovers - H0, you interact, very clear - Hint button useful outside H0, refills quickly - SKIP button - Good mini games - Interesting story - Beautiful graphics I seem to never get tired of rescuing family members in creepy places so this is a buy for me. Good but a bit short HO scenes were good, puzzles not that difficult. Quite easy to work out what to do next. I enjoyed the demo but when I checked the walkthrough there are 45 screenshots in the first 2 chapters which is what the demo covers and 60 screenshots for the remaining 3 chapters. To me that meant no more than 1.5 hours further play so not a buy and only 3 stars. If it had been longer it would have been a buy and at least 4 stars May 5, 2012
It was OK! From what I read, this game comes from a new developer but it looks like an old game. An adventure HOG without the usual trimmings. Lets start with the story: Your sister is missing and you have discovered that she has gone to visist an abandoned boarding school on a supposedly deserted island where you both attended before a deadly palgue forced you to leave. SO far so familiar! Once you arrive, you find yourself not alone and a shadowy figure with a maniacal laughter is there to greet you. Now for the interesting part; you have a sidekick that is a robot called "boilerplate" that helps you lift and carry heavy objects and creeps you out by warning you what lies ahead. Seriously? Can we get anymore bizaare? I personally would have added a sense of humour to the robot just to make the game a bit more fun to play. I am dissapointed that there are no voice overs or interactive maps which tells me that there was limited funding to make this game. Also I found the puzzles and HOGs jsut too easy to do along with the two minigames I encountered during the trial run. There are inventory items that you do combine but overall, game mechanics were easy and more dissapointingly, no options for gameplay mode; so you get the sparkles and a hint system that will tell you where to go and what to do. However, I do applaud the developers for the opening scene especially the use of B/W photos. The graphics are well done but we have seen better. Sadly the letdown is the level of challenge offered making the fun factor for this game just OK. I suppose for beginners, 'Malice: Two Sisters' is ideal at getting your feet wet with an Adventure/HOG. Unfortunately, for hard-core players like myself, I expect that the story and how it ends will be the motivating factor to spending a credit on this game. I cannot "not recommend" this game because I myself will ultimately spend a club reward on this because I am interested to see how the story does progress and I just cannot ignore "boilerplate" who I hope gets more interesting down the road. Cheers to all and happy gaming. May 5, 2012
That's it?? The trial had such promise, so I bought the game. Now I'm just disapointed. The storyline wasn't there. I'm sitting here with a feeling of "was that all"????!!! Money wasted! May 5, 2012
A bit disappointing! Graphics nice, sound okay (got real tired of the laugh), game play not bad, HOGs simple (and a little challenging), games fairly easy. I expected more. It started out great, but went down hill from there. Not as challenging as it could have been. According to the WT, I got half way through in my trial period and still had 11 minutes left on the hour. Very short game. This would be a nice game for a beginner and others will like it for its simplicity, but at the end of the demo, I really didn't feel I wanted to purchase the game to see what happens. Was expecting to like the game and take further advantage of the special this weekend to purchase this one, but got 2 CEs instead. Weekend's not over yet. Thanks for the reviews. May 5, 2012
Malice: Two Sisters Played the demo and bought it straight away, good enjoyable game, mini games not to taxing but the story line very good, screen a little bit dark but does not stop game play, go on and buy it you wont regret it May 5, 2012
Boring! Maybe it's just me, really. But this game is just another game that sends the player back and forth gathering items to use in various places while trying to keep the interest of the player. There isn't anything actually wrong with the premise or the game itself, but I just didn't get into this one, and found myself yawning through the demo. Nothing new here, nothing fun. Not a buy for me. May 6, 2012
