Puzzle Palooza....Great at first. This review is based on game play in Expert Mode. Be careful what you wish for - I am always asking for more mini-games and fewer HOS. Well, Tiger Eye Sacrifice delivers just that. Puzzle, after puzzle, followed by puzzled, and then another puzzle. After a few hours of this I just wanted the game to end. Once I reached the last puzzle the ending literally lasted the blink of an eye. The storyline is a cross between a Harlequin Romance and a trip to Puzzle Lollapalooza should such a place exist. The story picks up where Tiger Eye Part I left off, with little background given so I would recommend playing that one first. Storyline for this game: A hunky shape shifter and hot babe's love are thwarted by an evil magician. At first I was loving it - The constant stream of puzzle after puzzle was refreshing. Some of the puzzles were unique, pretty cute and clever, most easy, but some with difficulty thrown in. As for HOS - There wasn't much here other than pop up boxes telling the gamer to "find 12 roses" or "6 pieces of paper". Once found these items would be used to solve the next mini-game. Sometimes locating the place to use the items was not obvious.-Again, maybe because of expert mode. Game Play - Graphics: Crisp and beautiful, scenes nicely done. Hints: Not much help, but haven't played in expert mode before so that might be why. Map: Yes, but it consists of arrows that pop up to show available areas of travel, not a layout of the town. Journal: Yes,but it isn't useful during game play except for the romantic to re-read love letters Music: Is fine. I turned it down as it didn't add much to game play I like this game enough to recommend it for puzzler lovers but HOS fans might be disappointed. June 25, 2012
Tiger Eye - had to sacrifice myself to finish Very slow moving game..........had to force myself to continue until free play time was up. Slow moving between scenes. Not really a true Hidden Object Game as is usual from BFG. Too many embedded puzzles to complete before moving on. Idea is good, but needs work! May 6, 2012
Would have been a pretty good beta This is a review of the version I bought from the developer (sold as a finished product). It seemed as though it would be great as a beta product. The graphics in some areas needed alot of sprucing up, while other areas were very good. The voice-over conversations between characters had different sound levels and qualities, obviously performed at different times and settings. The music was quite good, likely a re-do of the very nice music from the first game in this series. Sadly, Hari was mostly missing while our heroine did most of the work; figuring out puzzles after puzzles and counteracting the Magi and his minion. There were LOADS of puzzles. I just got tired of doing so many puzzles at every turn. The hint button was quite generous or I'd not have finished all those puzzles, at all. May 6, 2012
Finally!!! Wahoo!!! I have waited what feels like forever for the sequel to the first Tiger Eye game to come out (years in fact) and could not believe that it had finally arrived! And it does NOT disappoint. The storyline and interactions between the two 'lovers' is spell-binding. I'll let others rave about the game mechanics and visuals, etc. I have more gaming to do. I simply wanted to announce to the world how excited I am that the sequel has arrived!!! Lol. Enjoy fishies. This series is fantastic...If you haven't yet played the first one, I highly recommend that you play that first, and then this one. You will have a better understanding of what is going on and a deeper appreciation for the characters. May 6, 2012
Very different, if perhaps not as good as the first. The long awaited sequel to Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box has finally arrived, after about 2 plus years and much speculation that it would ever be made. Does it deliver? Yes and No. No on the cut scenes (not the actual gameplay graphics for me, as such), because the characters don't look the same; they are lacking. In Part 1, Hari was almost 7 feet tall and something to behold. In this one, either Dela has grown or Hari shrunk in the wash. This wasn't at all what I expected. Having read the book a couple of years ago, I can understand why some gamers found the storyline out of sync with the first part - it's because the story in the book takes a more 'detective' slant later on (that is what Marjorie M. Lui's books in this series are all about), plus it is setting up the story for Kitala Bell, the fiddle player for the second book. Perhaps not the best slant to take when continuing a game. The puzzles were great and I loved the colourful scenes. A different take on the H0G slant to the usual list of items to find, but, on the whole, the game is probably better understood if you had read the book, and subsequent tomes. May 6, 2012
Totally disappointed I only played the demo and that was enough What's that for a sequel? After a long time waiting, I was so happy to see, that they continued that game. The first one wasn't that good, but I loved the storyline- because I know the book and loved it to see faces for these beloved figures. And now that- the graphics changed and the story doesn't even follow the first one- or the book itself. For those, who read the book, they'll be missing all the characters from the book (I loved them so much) Instead of following a great book, they choose a totally different storyline. The minigames were boring. You travel into different locations, that I dislike too. Maybe I'll buy the game, but only with a free coupon code or something like that- otherwise it won't be worth the money. Instead of playing such a boring game, I will read the book again. May 6, 2012
Great Variety and a Good Sequel I enjoyed the first game and this is no disappointment. There are a variety of puzzles to solve, and the storyline is entertaining. I was continuously drawn to the next action and could not stop playing. I completed the demo and will definitely buy the game. It is fun and involving. The graphics are good, as are the voiceovers. I highly recommend this as a challenging, but not too overwhelming, game. You're easily drawn to the next action to take, and the hidden object sections are not too difficult. May 6, 2012
Really Enjoyed This Game This was so much better than the standard HO game. There were many different types of challenges which was great. I wish there were more like this as normal HO games get so tedious and repetitive. May 11, 2012
NEEDS MORE HARI I loved the first game it had lots of romance and the gaining of psychic power section of the first game was good. I wish they had included it and made the 2nd game more like the first. Too much time was spent searching for and freeing her girlfriend. However on a positive note the mini games were fun and somewhat challenging, the graphics were good and when we finally got to Hari that was enjoyable. The ending was good but I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I'm not going to say any more. May 7, 2012
Good, but not as good as Curse of the Riddle box I really LOVED "Curse of the Riddle Box", so I could not wait until "The Sacrifice" came out. Tiger Eye is one of the few romance games around. That being said, I did like the challange of both games, but "The Sacrafice" did not have the interaction between Hari and Dela was very lacking. Dela was the only one solving any of the puzzles, etc. I usually find that many sequels are so much better than the original (ie. design, rendering, etc) but not in this case. There were very few puzzles, etc. that was solved with Dela and Hari together. So would , I buy it again? Yes. But I wish the developers would have kept the intereations betweeen the two main characters that is seen in "Curse of the Riddle Box". But, at least I have been able to complete the game. May 6, 2012
