Lord of Statues After the Bonus was fixed I finished the game and I LOVED it!! February 23, 2013
Satisfies with a Great Story, Puzzles & Gorgeous Graphics I played the entire hour-long demo of this game and was excited about buying the Collector?s Edition. For the main game itself, I rather enjoyed it. I got plenty of play time out of it and felt like I got my money?s worth. The bonus gameplay, on the other hand, left me completely scratching my head. Like others have said, it was very short and cut off abruptly in a place that didn?t make sense for it to leave off at. It did offer some further insight into the main storyline via cut-scenes but in spite of that, I found myself really disappointed with the bonus gameplay. If you?re buying the CE for the bonus gameplay (and want satisfying, compelling bonus gameplay that is a nice addition to the main game and ties loose ends up), don?t bother with this one. You?ll be disappointed. Given the reviews I'd already read about it, I didn?t have high hopes to begin with about the bonus gameplay but it was even shorter and more disappointing than I expected. With that said, what I liked about the main game: I really liked having the stone creatures on hand to help me. The only thing that would?ve made them better would be if the game had somewhere separate to store your stone companions so they don?t contribute to the clutter of the items you?re carrying. The graphics were gorgeous throughout much of the game and the cut-scenes well done. I?d like to go into more detail about some of the animations I found so satisfying, but I?d rather not give anything away. Just be prepared for top-notch animations. This was the first game that I?ve played that had a map that you can use to instantly teleport from one place to the next. (It also tells you whether there?s currently stuff to do in any of those locations.) I loved that and I think it served to enhance the gameplay. I was able to play this with my 7 year old boy and the storyline was such that it wasn?t too dark for him to enjoy. I thought the storyline itself was interesting and a nice departure from the usual stories you find. What I didn?t like about the game: There were too many hidden object games, some of which were repeats of previous HO scenes. To me, that gets exasperating when too many HO scenes get thrown at you. That said, at my skill level, the HO scenes were sometimes challenging. Another gripe (that may just be me not being tolerant of very repetitive sounds) was the environmental noises sometimes getting on my nerves after a while. There were a couple of rooms where concrete scraping and other annoying noises really started to wear on my nerves. Fortunately, you can turn the volume down for those things in the main menu. Overall, I?d recommend the SE game whole-heartedly. I used the strategy guide from the CE maybe once or twice. Otherwise, using hints in the SG was more than adequate when I was unsure what to do next. Unless you really want the achievements, wallpapers, music, ability to go back and re-watch some of the cut-scenes, and the strategy guide, I?d pass on the CE of the game. I really did enjoy the game, but given the bonus play being such a letdown, it doesn?t seem like it?s worth plunking down the extra dough on the CE. In short: Great game, really enjoyed it! Amazingggg game!!! WOW! Elephant Games just has me in awe with what they can do! Its breath-taking to play this game. The statues are so life like, I feel like I can reach into the screen and touch them. Some were friendly and had green eyes and they helped you do tasks around the palace and others had red eyes and were evil and wanted you dead or at least hurt. The battle between the archer and the huge statue in the beginning at the plaza was intense! It looked and sounded real. Just amazing. The bonus chapter was short BUT it was so well done graphically that I have no complaints. It showed what elephant can do and what they can do just blows my mind! The things they are capable of as developers leads me to believe we are going to start seeing even more games that blow the mind and by this time next year they will have released some games that make this look old school because if this is the same developer who released Samhain a couple years ago, WOW they have come a LONGGG WAYYY!!!!! KUDOS!!!! And I LOVEDDDD the fact you got a choice at the ending! After my choice though I felt kind of bad and wished I had chose differently. BUT next time I play it, I'll just choose the latter and get a new close scene!!! YAY Cheers January 28, 2013
So cool!!! Get it you will LOVE it. I am sure of it. January 19, 2013
Fun Game This game was so much fun. Statues coming to life, some good...some bad. People in the "abandoned" village and you have a determine who is good and who is evil. The graphics are excellent, the "helpers" you have during the game are great, the built in SG is helpful, the HOS are good and the mini puzzles are fun. The ending of the main game was satisfying. The bonus chapter really added to the story and was worth the price of the CE. I highly recommend this game! January 12, 2013
Totally awesome This is a must for players who wish to be transported into a game. I am so totally hooked, it it thrilling. The visuals and sounds are stunning, as is the story line. I would deffinately recomend this game to anyone who enjoys puzzles. January 1, 2013
The Best Game I Have Played So Far! I have played approximately 20 Big Fish Games. Besides being very entertaining with a good storyline. The BEST interactive map I've seen so far. It uses gold circles with a cross thru them to let you know where you are and it uses the gold circle to let you see where your next goal or goals are a click on the circle get you there. No more endless back clicking! I will know what to look for now when I try out the demos. I wish they would give you the specifics of how the maps work in the description of the games as that would eliminate downloaded a game who doesn't have a good interactive map. Wish there was a way to pass this suggestion on to the powers that be! December 30, 2012
Incredible Artwork I truly understand why this game got such high reviews, I just finished it and I absolutely loved it. There were many times I chuckled and the scenery just sucked me in. I never wanted this game to end yet I could not bring myself to stop playing it. The challenges were not overly difficult and neither were the hos areas. Love love the map where you can jump from location to location. I also love games with the extras like the collectables. I also love you can have two different endings. Thrilled I purchased this one. Thanks BF for another fantastic game. December 26, 2012
Statues on the loose! I really enjoyed this game. The graphics were excellent. My only complaint is the story line was a bit confusing near the end. It caused me to restart game. I thought I had missed something important along the way. December 23, 2012
wow! I was very busy in this game. I liked the storyline, the graphics, and the wierd feelings I got when the statues talked or moved. The HOG scenes were lit well enough for me and I thought the graphics and sound effects were good. I also liked the fact that music was placed in the proper locations. December 3, 2012
