One caveat away from brilliant? Well, as much as I am about to rave about this game, I must say the bonus chapter was fairly short and ended rather weakly. It did have different locations and a few pretty good puzzles. The main game has a conclusive enough ending; the bonus play does nothing to enhance it. The SE would be quite satisfying, IMHO. Now for the raves? This is a beautifully presented, well structured game with some very unique use of inventory items. It was truly enjoyable to play. Play in Hardcore, and this will be very much an adventure. Take notes, there are a lot of locations and tasks. There is a map that will transport you from place to place, but in Hardcore the map does not indicate where there are achievable objectives. Play in Casual or Advanced using the map, this game will be much more about the puzzles and the HOs, than the tasks, more an activity than a memory game. Either way, there is no denying how stunning this game is, visually, and in content. Except for one transition I thought was obscure, the game flowed comfortably along, aided by a captivating story. This was one of the more satisfying games I have played in recent weeks. I highly recommend it. September 2, 2012
All great but for the Bonus I really enjoyed everything about this game. It was very well done. The Bonus chapter was an afterthought which did not feel as if it was conceived by the same talent pool who had created the main gain. It was too short and not at all challenging. Th games in it were repetitive and annoying. I wish I had waited. August 26, 2012
Great Game! This game was a very good length. No timer but it took me a few hours to complete. Very good use of cut scenes without it overtaking the story. Level of difficulty was probably more challenging than most. The HO scenes were not too cluttered and it was usually pretty hard to find one or two objects. Most of them had one or two interactive objects to find. Lots of mini-games--some of them were unique. Nothing too difficult but not super easy--I did not need to skip any of them in advanced mode. I don't want to give away the story but it was really different and very interesting. A unique thing about this game was the use of the "helpers". That was a clever addition. Had a map that told you where you were and where something could be done which would also transport you, though I didn't find the trek between scenes too excessive. The CE has objects to find. They were pretty easy, though I missed two. The only con I have--and not a big enough deal to knock off a star--the bonus game was extremely short and I didn't understand the ending at all. I don't buy the CE for the bonus play so that didn't bother me. August 25, 2012
Great Game! It's been a long time since I've loved a game this much! It was creative, fun, and original. The only negative thing I have to say is that the CE is not worth the extra $. The bonus was short and added nothing to the story. It was a disappointment after finishing such a good main game. Give this game a try, hope you enjoy it as much as I did! August 24, 2012
Extraordinary Experience I just finished the entire game and bonus. What an extraordinary experience in gaming. Even if no one reads this, I just want to go down as saying there isn't another game out there that takes on the animation that this game does and not just for the sake of it. Animation enhances the story and game play taking the game to another level completely. Bravo to the developers. Keep this level of creativity coming and I'll buy what ever you have. Again, extraordinary! August 23, 2012
Played it Loved it!! Good story and interesting characters. August 22, 2012
Wanted to Give 5 But.... This is a great game. I love the story, it was twisty and creative. The graphics and movies were amazing and I loved the various puzzles. There were not too many HOS (some games just do one after the other) and they didn't repeat the ones done. My complaints, though, demand a star. First, the bonus chapter was WAY too short to be worth the $. It wasn't bad, though not what I would have preferred (can't explain or it would be a spoiler). Second, I wish the end had been clearer (also a spoiler risk). Third, for those of us who have sensory issues, those chimes in the background going every minute or so were horrible (the reason behind the lower score for sound quality). I know that most people won't know what I am talking about but for some, the constant annoying chime can ruin a game! (It should be noted that if you turn off environment sound it turns this off too). I did really like this game, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good adventure with a good balance of challenging puzzles and fun HOS. August 21, 2012
Really good HOG I knew when I played the demo (in casual mode) that I'd end up buying this game. Lots of thought went into the graphics which were stunning and I liked the way the objects disappeared as I found them in theHO scenes. The puzzles were challenging at times and I did skip a few. For once I didn't turn off the music as it was perfect - unobtrusive and in key with the story. The storyline was good - had a feeling that the princess mightn't be all good - but I don't want to spoil the story. If you want an absorbing tale that is satisfying then get this! August 21, 2012
excellent game, new twist ! I was so happy to punish the villain at the end ! It's a fun game, great HO, fun complicated puzzles, very crisp, beautifully done, I enjoyed it a lot ! Story line is very good ! August 14, 2012
Royal Detective - A+ from me I just expected the usual from this game but was pleasantly surprised by the inventive story line, great graphics and entertaining play. The "helpers" were the most unusual addition to the game as well as the living statues. It would appear there might be a sequel as princess looks for her mother...I will look forward to it!
