More a match 3
I hate match 3 games so was dissapointed to find 90% of this game was matching gems. Not my cup of tea but if you like match 3 and hidden object this is the game for you.

In a Nutshell, BORING..
I only played for 5 minutes. This game is just boring. What else can I say?

Should have been better
I am a fan of the Jewel Quest but this one and the one before relied too much on a storyline that I thought added nothing to the game. And this voice over is just too perky. The jewel boards are few and far between. The HO scenes made me really search for some of the items but the puzzles were ones I've seen and done before. Glad I used a free game coupon or I might have been upset!

Boooooring
Jewel Quest should just stay with match 3 games. The attempt to combine their match 3 with hog's is terrible. The repetition of each of the characters...well the review title says it all.

Too slow: no story
This might be the worst game I have played from Big Fish. It is so slow that I thought it wasn't going to respond at all. The screen went blank for a long time before anything happened.
The story was so lame I didn't bother to read the journal. The hidden objects were REALLY hidden and almost impossible to find.
There was a lot more wrong with this. I didn't like anything about this game.

Not very good
Normally I do not write reviews on the games. However, since my anticipation of this Jewel Quest was a big letdown, I had to submit my rankings. This one would have been better as strictly a Match 3 game. The hidden object parts did not work for me.

A Different Kind of Jewel Quest . . . I love It!
Yes, this game is different from the others. If you looking for the usual match-3 (only), or hidden objects (only), this is not the game for you ... but ... if you're looking for a different kind of game that combines the two . . . please give this game a try.
My Likes -- There is a good storyline going on in this game. And the dialogue (not to much to turn you off) guides you nicely through the game. The hidden object scenes have different objectives. In some, you have to find objects before you can go to the next level/step. For example, you have to find pieces of a pulley to start the process of finding the puzzle pieces. After finding the puzzles pieces, you then have access to a room, where you have a hidden object scene. In these scenes, you can find extra coins or jewels to earn extra hints. There is a lot going on and you have to use your grey matter to keep up with things. I also like the fact that the match-3 games are mixed throughout. And yes, before you can play them, you have to find all the pieces to play it.
I'm Surprised . . . that some many reviewers found this game boring. There is nothing boring about this game. Unless you find playing hidden object scenes and match-3 boring.
My Didn't like so much . . . I don't remember being given the option to play relaxed or timed. I would have preferred to have had that option. I like playing against the clock. For some game players, the dialogue might be a "bit much." I was OK with it
Recommendation .... I plan to purchase this game. I played the full 60 minutes and wanted to keep going. As always, I recommend that you give this game a try. I loved it!

Nice mix of HOG and Match 3
Not overly challenging, but entertaining.

Series keeps evolving..
What is wrong with the all the complaints from reviewers? This is a series that has not changed a lot from earlier games. Do not mixup "Jewel Quest" with this one, which is "Jewel Quest Mysteries." This game is the same as earlier versions. Complaints about music can always be resolved by turning it off and playing your own. Finding the 3 discs to add hints, collecting jewels to buy help, and finding the parts for the match 3 games are all standard for this series. The constant voice overs are also part of this game to provide background history lessons and also to talk between the three characters in the story. It can be annoying if all you want to do is play, but if you really look at other games this is only bothersome because it pops up in the scene instead of being on its own screen. Repeating HOS with different people is no different than repesting HOS in other games. How many other games do you go back to same HOS several times? This is different in that you are repeating them as different people. You also don't spend time walking through the game to repeat scenes. HOS picture quality could be a little better but it isn't that bad. Its purpose is to challenge finding objects, which it does. Expert gamers are upset over having to go through all the help boxes. They need to remember every game has to be made as if this is the first time a person has ever played it. Get over it. You don't have to listen to or read every box that comes up. One click will close the box and again turn off the voice in options. I think some of these reviews are taking away the enjoyment for people with all the negative comments. Reviews should not be for just experts or people who always play games. If I were new to Big Fish Game and saw all the constant negative comments I most likely would never buy a game.
