Not worth money or game credit!
Waste of game credit!
Games and match threes are tedious, slow, graphics are murky. Seventh Gate is great but its the only game in this series to be top quality. Why?
I don't care about the story line but... Story line doesn't follow sequence of games-since Rupert and Emma are married and have a daughter in a previous game, I think it is safe to say they may have decided to be together!

The worse Jewel Quest ever!
This game is absolutely appaling! The music is dreadful, too much talk, too much reading; no direction whatsoever. I use one free credit because it was a "Jewel Quest" and I am a great fan but I must say I deeply regret it to have wasted a credit on this terrible game. I gave it a 1 star because I could not give less! I was bored after a few minutes of opening the game. Don't bother with this game!

This is a hidden gem - pun intended! Please review the right game.
Please don't be scared off by the negative reviews - apparently not everyone knows that in addition to the regular Jewel Quest series, there is another series by the same company, with the same characters, but different gameplay styles, called Jewel Quest Mysteries. The regular JQ series is almost entirely fast-paced Match-3 games with brief snippets of story every 10 boards or so. The JQM games offer a relatively balanced array of HOS/minigames/puzzles/match-3/story, and The Oracle of Ur is no exception. Though this review is based on the free trial version of the game, I have played the rest of the series, and know what to expect.
The background music is pleasant but not distracting. I turn the voice actors as far down as possible, as the text of their speech appears on screen anyway and I am not a fan of the voice actors used throughout both Jewel Quest series - hence the 4 ranking for Sound Quality. The graphics were crisp, clear, and gorgeous.
I personally enjoyed the story elements very much. I will note that this installment of the JQM series did seem to go overboard with the frequency of the story elements at first (both quick interjecting thoughts during scenes and brief journal entries between locations to cover events which aren't directly witnessed#, but I expect that to even out as gameplay increases in complexity, being more abundant at first to firmly establish the 3 protagonists. Be sure to read the journal entries before you have completed a larger area with each character, as you won't be able to access those entries when a different character is being played.
While there was one overlap in location during my trial period, it is visited at different times #day vs night), with different lists for the HOS and appropriate adjustments in the minigame in terms of difficulty, as well as the different point-of-view of each character, so it isn't straight repetition. The HOS are not trash-heaps, but not too easy either, and objects mostly make sense for the setting. I do question the presence of a complex electronic lock minigame in the timeframe and setting, but still enjoyed this variant on the pipe game. The match-3 element starts as a brief component, but as the JQM boards always increase in complexity, I don't foresee a problem. I enjoy looking for the lion coins for an extra hint if needed, jewels to purchase match-3 upgrades, and JQM board shards scattered in each HOS in the series, and am glad to see that these elements have been kept in The Oracle of Ur.
Overall, The Oracle of Ur appears to be a solid entry in the Jewel Quest Mystery series, which I will likely be purchasing. If you aren't sure which of the two Jewel Quest series you prefer, or want to see if you might like both, please download the free trials for each. Good gaming to you all!

very disappointing
There was too much dialog/movie and not enough jewel boards. The boards were so easy except for the last one and I was shocked to see the game over when I finished it! The other Jewel Quest Mysteries are some of my favorite games so I was very disappointed. The hidden object games and the puzzles were good, graphics were great. Just jewel boards that were not exciting at all.

Not too bad
I like Jewel Quest..enjoy the series....but the funny part is I enjoy this game much more than I expected. There are flaws to this game...the grainy images..the voices!! With all the technology available this game should have been crystal clear. I do like the mix of hidden objects, Match 3 etc. It makes it interesting. I like this game better because I don't like to have dueling matches with the computer as it was in past game/s. This game allows me to take my time. Could there be improvements? Of course...but I will hope for the future and see if the makers of this game come thru and shock me...I know it can be done. If they don't then no more buying for me on this series.

Not a real jewel quest
Very few jewel quest boards. Lots of hidden object. Did not look like any of the other jewel quest games I have come to love, big disappointment.

like the series...but
I'm a big fan of all the Jewel Quest games and have all of them so I was looking forward to this one. Like the ho's and match 3's but the mini games were driving me crazy, it would say to click on something to rotate it and I spent over 5 minutes trying to rotate triangles and electrical wires...can't figure out if you have to just repeatedly click on it, it seemed I was clicking for a long time before it would turn a little bit then a long time again before another turn. I may end up buying this one only because I do like the series but I'm hoping there will be an upgrade down the road to fix the clicking...

I found it incomprehensible
It's a shame, I love Jewel Quest... not sure exactly what this was meant to be, but it's not the Jewel Quest I know and love. Trying to figure out what to do was too frustrating, I made it a whopping six minutes before deleting it. Play was not intuitive, find pieces that you will use sometime later, find them in the right order or you won't know when or where to use them. Game instructions were murky, even after reading twice, not quite sure what I am supposed to be doing, or how I am supposed to be doing it. Yuck. Not for me.

Nope!
Could have been a very nice game. Did not care for the timed match game at all (don't much care for those anyway). Graphics okay, HOGs cluttered and some items blend color too much to see, sound okay but a lot of talking, music okay but gets annoying fast. I don't mind, and often purchase, lazy day games just for fun, but was very disappointed in this one. Not a buy for me either.
Thanks for the reviews.

BORING
PURE HIDDEN OBJECT AND MATCH 3 GAMES, NO STRATEGY INVOLVED. I HATE MATCH 3, SO QUIT WHEN THE SECOND ONE CAME UP.
