short, simple but sweet - 3 stars because of the length
This is a very lite (easy) adventure game from orchid games. A filler game (short and easy) as it did take me just on the 3hr timeline with no skipping puzzles and reading everything but I do read quickly.
I really enjoyed it as the graphics were sharp and crisp, colourful and beautiful, hardly any backtracking and there was only 5 hidden object scenes in the whole game and it was fun, I had more enjoyment playing this than some 4 star HOPAs I have played!
It didn?t play auto in fullscreen (it had panels on the side) but I got rid of the panels by changing my resolution to (1024 x 768) and it didn?t affect the graphics so managed to get the playing are to fill my standard laptop screen.
There was no option for gameplay but there was no sparkles except for the hidden object scenes and you had to click on the ?info? button in puzzles. The tasks where recorded in your diary if you needed a hint. The hint button showed you if there was anything current that you could do in a scene and as there was little backtracking and objectives in the diary I don?t think that those that usually use a walkthrough would miss not having one.
There was a fair bit of cutscenes with dialogue, no voice over which made it easier for me to read quickly and click on it to get rid of it ? seemed less interruption to gameplay doing this than having voiceovers with it. There were voiceovers at the beginning and I think at the end.
The plot was about some native Americans placing a curse on this girl so her spirit roamed near a tree in a forest. Your friend gets injured in the forest and the spirit tries to help her and you go back in time to help your friend and it seems everyone else you come in contact with. Although there was one ?baddie? the spirit and story was all good and it played like a light and airy game.
I?d recommend this for children as it?s easier gameplay but also in the beginning you learn basics of survival in the forest and it was logical gameplay (apart from putting magic crystals in ground and going into different scenes!)
HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES
The 5 scenes were all silhouette and you find the item that fits the silhouette. You didn?t repeat any of them, only one was junk pile and actually made sense being that. I could find all items easily.
PUZZLES (spoilers for type)
The puzzles were all old school - mostly easy except the pipe, guess right sequence, and put the right pieces in a pattern (more medium and just because I class them as medium doesn?t mean I didn?t take some time over them).
There was a jigsaw, rotate rings, click on right tiles to turn the blocks over into a photo. Press buttons in right order, match moving pairs, match all 'x' to find leftover item.
I usually like more challenge to my games but I had just finished a hard LF game so this filler game was welcome, and it was fun. It?s such a joy to play nearly a whole game in bright daylight for a change and when it was dark for one scene (apart from the tree) there was a beautiful big moon.
I don?t normally recommend such a short game and it is one of the shortest I have played here but if you have a coupon and don?t skip puzzles then you should get at least 3hrs out of it. It was a wee gem of a filler game.

Aaah. . .refreshing on the senses!!
I played the hour demo and found this little gem light and refreshing. . .on the senses!! It has clear, non-dreary, colorful graphics and the game isn't. . .harsh. . .as has been with the recent releases. The game's characters are not drawn but are similar to those in Weird Park: Broken Tune and Vampire Saga: Pandora's Box. There are no voice overs [gotta read, folk!], there's a journal/diary, no map and the hint system fills rather quick. The objects to find aren't of the ordinary 'junk pile' list style but, instead, are items in the scenery that you click on and they go into your inventory. The story is not a dark 'whodunnit' or the usual asylum, haunted house, etc., variety as of late, but one about a woman who is to marry a Native-American man, yet his father #the chief of their tribe# is dead-set on the break-up of that union. He poisons her and she dies. She needs help from you to end the curse following her death but you will have to play to know what the curse is about. This is a nice, relaxing game with visually colorful scenes and a softer story line that includes some challenge and will make you think. All I can say is give it a try!! :-)

Nice game, but I wish it was a longer!
This game has lovely graphics and a interesting story line. The mini puzzles are not super hard and there is a skip button. There is not a ton of hand holding in this game and the hint button will point you in the right direction. There are no penalties for using the hint button or skipping the puzzles. The HO scenes are not cluttered and it is not too difficult to find what you need. The objects are shown in silhouette at the bottom of the screen.
My only complaint is that the game is not longer. I did purchase this game and I had completed it an about 2 hours total, and that included the 1 hour free trial. I kept hoping for a twist, but the plot of the story is pretty straight forward- help the Witch stop the curse that trapped her in a tree. You do have to switch between the real world and the shadow world, however this game is not creepy or scary in the least!
Overall, a very nice game!

Very, very short game
The game has a good storyline, good graphics and interesting gameplay, though the puzzles are standard fare for a HOG. My main complaint about it is the length. I finished it in about two hours.

Very catchy title
I loved the story line. It makes you really think hard about what to do next. The visual and the game play are top notch. It's a game I just didn't want to quit. EXCELLENT!

A keeper
The only thing I didn't like about the game was how many cut scenes it had. However you need the cut scenes because some of them will be clues on what to do next.
This game was nice no snakes! Few skulls, I did see one animal skull. But I only played the demo, I don't know what happens after that.
Put on your thinking caps for this one, and warm up the brain cells. It's not all that hard, just use a lot of common scense.
Over all a real good game.

Nice but too short
This is a nice, easy, extremely linear game. Visuals, puzzles, storyline are all well done. Its adventure lite, but it is way too short, and so I could only give it 3 stars.
Honestly, I would recommend waiting until you have a punch, or its a Daily Deal to purchase it.

5 stars just for the change of pace!
I guess I like a lot of variety in PC gaming because this was like a breath of fresh air....relaxing music relaxed me! I read all the reviews prior to writing this and I can see how different people are....but that's ok, that's why BFG has so many games and a new one everyday.
This game is simple, I'm not finished yet but I am really enjoying the story so I don't care how long it is, I am already satisfied.....however, if you likened this game to a movie, you might consider it a 'chick flick' for the characters and story line...but that is just my opinion and certainly ok with me. The nicest 'change' for me in this game is not have a list of items to find, I love HOG's but do get tired of finding tons of items in each game.
I might not purchase this type of game on a regular basis but like I said in my title....it is really good for something a little different. And for anyone who likes a good story in their game....you should really like this one! Enjoy.

Kudos to the Developers and BFG for another great game
Travel back in time and help Maylynn and her friends save the bride from turning into the Cypress Witch.
The sound and graphics were excellent and also the music which I turned down slightly. The colors were vibrant and really made the scenes colorful and stand out.
The HOS were something else. Some were easy and some took a little figuring out on what to do next. The gift of the blanket was the hardest one for me. (Good thing they addeed a skip button)
The whole story made me wish I could go back in time to change a few things. Which is what Maylynn and her friends did to save the Cypress Witch.
I bought this game after the trial ended and I am glad that I did. I leave the purchasing of Spirit Walkers up to the individual player. Happy gaming and playing everyone.
Thank you once again developers and BFG for sharing this beautiful game.

unusual but disappointingly short
I felt really short changed by the length of this game, though content was ok, it should have had another chapter.
