Too demonic for me
I am not a prude, I like scary storylines, and a few demons here and there, but this game just gave me the heebie jeebies from the get go! I didn't even play past the first 5 minutes, as I found it way too demonic, so I can't give it much of a review. I just wanted to point out that many people would find it a bit much.

What a new twist on a hog
Fun game! It had some new and different twists compared to other games, loved the power up and hint system, what a great idea!!! This was not scary, so don't be daunted by other reviews...had a good creepy factor that a good SciFi game should! How anyone can say this was terrible or really scary idk?? It was no more graphic than any of the other SciFi games on here, maybe they were under 12?? May be a little much for a young child but teens and up would enjoy this game. The story line was fun, the graphics were good, ran smoothly, vo's were good and I had NO difficulty with the hos scenes. They were a little challenging but not to hard to find if your looking as you should be. The few times I had to use a hint for the hos scene it was obvious and easy to see. I think this is a game with a lot of cool new ideas and it goes right to the top of my fav list. If you like the spooky stuff, buy this, you will enjoy it.I wish it would of lasted longer I would of enjoyed playing it for awhile longer! Great job, sequel please!!

My New Number 1
I was so excited about this game I stopped 30 minutes into it to see how others had reviewed it. I was shocked that it wasn't higher than a 4.
I understand that people may find it "creepy" or scary but protestations that it's demonic or satanic are ridiculous. It is not. Perhaps it's baroque? But NO, it's not pure evil. It's a game. And it is pure...pure brilliance. That's one man's opinion. I notice that others who think it's satanic also like nothing else about the game. I think their moral concerns have colored their objective reviews of the game.
Enough "preaching." While some complain that the HOGs are too difficult, too grainy, impossible to see, I say this: Yes, they are difficult. And I think that some of the graininess is what makes it difficult. And I LOVE IT. It's great to have an HOS which presents a challenge. It took me much longer than normal to complete HOG but I really enjoyed them. They were brilliantly hidden.
The background music was a perfect match for the content of the game. The voice overs both from cut scenes and from the regular progression of the game were wonderful. The woman who's the main narrator and protagonist has a very effective tonality. It reminded me a bit of an emotion-filled, determined actor delivering lines in a way that the script demanded: unemotionally yet effectively. That is acting.
The course of the game was always pushing North...always moving forward. It was not an East-West game. I felt progress to an important conclusion was always being made.
Despite what people have written, I think they know not of which they write. Go to any dramatic, beautiful, old Christian cathedral and you'll see gargoyles. There are a lot of gargoyles in this game. And they add to the ambience. There's fire...it adds to the ambience. There are demons. It's what the story is about.
I heartily recommend this game. It is not just good. It is the best I've ever played. My only regret is that I didn't get the CE. One man's opinion.

A SOLID 4 STARS
Your goal is to exorcise a demon to save a little girl, helped by some supernatural abilities. There are a lot of rooms to explore in the father?s mansion, but it?s not too difficult getting around. There are some spooky aspects (try overclicking in a HOS for a sample). Gameplay wasn't too easy but neither was it mind-numbing. HOS are crisp, clear and not too crowded. Visual effects are well detailed and lovely. The heroine?s voice is pleasant to listen to, which is good since you spend a lot of time listening to her. Nicely polished game. The ending was a complete surprise ? never saw that coming. About 5 hours.

More like this, please!
This is a game inspired with originality! No constant searching for keys to doors and chests. Entertaining fun mini-games. I wanted it to go on and on. Absolutely loved it and the stunning artwork. Can't praise it enough!

Really Bad!
This was one of the worst games I've tried in quite some time. The graphics are fuzzy and/or blurred to the point of non-recognition. There are random light sources that do nothing to enhance the scenes - they simply distort the scenes. And, finally, IT'S SO SLOW!!I cannot think that anyone would get much enjoyment from this one! It's a shame really - story could have made for an excellent game.

Sinister and spooky
As others have said...this is not for the faint at heart. Very creepy...but as a horror movie buff - that is what I enjoy. The only annoying particular of the game was the constant voice over of the main character on key areas - every time you clicked on the highlighted area...she would keep repeating the same line.

Exorcist adventure gaming meets iHOG -- Enjoy!
Theatre of the Absurd does a very nice job melding the traditional adventure game with the iHOG genre and provides a unique feel and creepy, Exorcist-like experience to the casual gaming market.
I was initially taken aback by this game and found the iHOG scenes fuzzy, but as the experience moved along I really enjoyed the smokey ambiance.
While most of the puzzles were light, the overall look and feel made this a very worthwhile and memorable gaming experience which I highly recommend especially those who appreciate the adventure gaming genre.
I only reserved one star because I wanted an even more adventure-like experience with a little less hand-holding.

Thank you very much!
When I saw where the game was from I knew it had to be 1st Class! I was gripped from the start - this is my type of game. It makes the player stretch the thinking power - I used the 'Hint' as little as possible. I don't mind running hither & thither to pick up a lost strand in the puzzle. I made myself complete the trial game although I knew it was going to be mine anyway. I cannot comment on the sound/voiceover because I never use the sound. The visual effects are excellent and I couldn't wait for what the next move brought.
Thank you devs this is great. I was beginning to lose heart, having had to not recommend quite a few games just recently. My faith in you clever people is restored.
It's a BIG thumbs up ansd a BIG Well Done!!
