Better than MCF
Stop reading all the reviews and just buy it. Trust me. It's a nice long game. Not too cheesy and really fun. Play it at night with all the light off for some added fun :)

Great graphics, some challenge
I really liked this game. Graphics and music were good and so was the storyline. You play a museum curator whose daughter has been kidnapped by a legendary pirate who wishes to bring his long lost love back to life using your daughter?s life force. Highly recommended game! Hint recharges quickly (casual mode) and it is pretty easy to figure out what to do. Puzzles are challenging at times.

Well constructed story
This game has long story, wide map, both one-time puzzles and repeating hidden object locations - all of them can be evaluated being very good. My reason for not rating 5 stars is the foreseeable structure as for the expert player it is easy to guess what must be done in which location to get the story to proceed. Also the inventory stays very small, i.e. you hold only the items needed for next 1-2 steps which is almost like direct guide on where to go and what to do next. I played in Expert mode without hints and map indicators.
However, after this critique I will still recommend the game as it is long enough, different puzzles keep the play interesting, map is wide and the expert mode adds some challenge. I also appreciate "clear" hidden object visuals (as against the overcluttered and out of focus style like in some other games).

My Fav Game to date - Wow!
My Fav all time game, played a few months back, brought and became absorbed in its game play. Its just fab, I've never given a game full marks for everything -even the mystery case files lose a star for something, but not this game.......took me ages 6-8hrs i guess, but I couldn't keep away, story line is great, not original but it still pulls you in enough, great puzzles and Ho scenes, just the right mix of adventure play and a great map and objectives list, so you know where your are and what your aim is at all times....even if you cant find the objects that you know you need to complete the task, lovely artwork, nothings to dark or moody to see, its just a great game - bonus ok but not as long as some I have played -so prob best now just to go for the standard and have great value, game on your hands!!

A Must Have Game!
Wow! What a delightful game. Kudos to the development team and BF. While the game is not particularly challenging, it holds your interest throughout. The maps are quite helpful, even if not interactive. And there is quite a bit of backtracking, but I found myself eager to find the next part of the story. The HOS are not difficult but well in keeping with the story line. The hint button refills quickly and actually points you in the right direction. The graphics are well done and a nice change of pace, the music was suitable and pleasant. The length of play was excellent and well worth the price. I will look for other games by this group. The puzzles were pretty easy and skippable if you chose - I didn't. I will play this game again and will gift it as well.

Just As Good As The Collector's Edition!
Having played and run down the demo of the Collector's Edition, and my bill payer refusing to let me buy it, I jumped on the chance to play this one more time! It's just as good as the Collector's Edition, with its unique gameplay, brilliant storyline and excellent graphics, it's sure to be fun for all ages!
I loved the new twist on the Hidden Object Scenes. For those of us who can't be bothered trying to find the objects, the geniuses at Artifex Mundi have created an alternative. Mahjong! This was a great challenge and much more fun than having to find Hidden Objects.
The game had a brilliant storyline that sucked you in from the moment it began. After 300 years, the body of Captain Remington has been found and is now going to be on display in 24 hours! That is, untill it escapes...
Very straightforward gameplay. It was obvious what to do next so no strategy guide was needed. Aded to this, the hint button rechaged very fast, so if ever I did get stuck, it would always be there when I needed it.
The one downer for me though was the puzzles. I thought these were incredibly hard and frustrating. The skip took a long time to recharge so I was sitting here waiting for it.
Despite this, I loved this game anwould happily buy both the Standard and the Collector's Edition just to get all the fun out of it! I know I loved it and guarentee you will too.

Splendid game with some very good hidden objects
This is from one of my favourite developers, Artifex Mundi & as ever their team have produced crystal clear graphics & beautifully rendered artwork. There are good voiceovers with clickable dialogue & quiet melodic music & nice background sounds.
You get a journal with a task list & little way into the game, two maps; these this will show active areas & where you are in easy mode (which has a 20 second hint recharge) but only where you are in expert (40 second hint). It is not interactive so you will have to go back & forth rather a lot to find the inventory items you need to complete game tasks.
This is a game with a lot of hidden object scenes, some items are interactive & in easy mode these have glints which is a little too much hand holding for my taste. If you prefer you can ?toggle? to play mah-jong instead; this consists of finding matching tiles & clearing the board. I did find the corners of the H0 screens rather dark, you will return to some H0s but you will find that the objects you removed before do not reappear when you go back so you are not looking for the same items.
The mini puzzles are the usual pipes, simon says, gears, create pictures, etc. & there is a skip button if needed. As an additional task you have to collect 12 doubloons & if you give them to the pirate holding on to the chest in the main cabin he will tell you the captain?s story.
This is a pirate story of kidnapping, confronting the captain's ghost & rescuing the girl; it had a good storyline & I enjoyed playing. It was a long game & took me around 4 hours to finish, the ending was satisfactory so this Standard Edition was fine, I don?t think I missed anything by not getting the CE.

The Best Hidden Objects Game I've Played
This game was the best hidden objects game I've ever played. The Story, Visuals and Music are top notch creating a creepy but compelling atmosphere. The only knocks I can think of are some of the voice acting (daughter and pirate) and the Pirate at the end of the story. Also the puzzles aren't exactly hard but none the less its a Great Buy!!! Lots of Fun!!!
